So someone pointed this out on the article about the AT-AT. It would seem that the legs have regular 4x4 radar dishes with closed studs, but there appears to be 4x4 dishes with an open stud on the sides of the AT-AT's head. I can't believe a new open-stud version is being used on just some of the model, but I can't see what else could be going on there.

^I think that part is a brick or more tall, and is a bit more bulbous. If that is a new mould, I am not sure if that was really nessesary.

This pic seems to show the join between the plate and the radar dish better:

I think that is just a mould line, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

The new AT-AT looks great and I can't wait to get a new Imperial Walker for my collection ($160-$190 may make me wait a bit) however that said, I understand they made it for ESB anniversary but I would have preferred an AT-ACT.

It looks to me like it's a Dish 4x4 Inverted (Radar) with Open Stud on top of a 4x4 round plate. Looks like the 4x4 dish has only ever appeared in trans colors, but it appeared in 10 sets in 2019. All they need to do is run a batch of light bluish gray.

I bought Vader's Castle to get the new May 4th promo because all the newer sets are miserably bad (except for small one or ones I already have)

Not Lego but my day is shot to heck & back waiting in the virtual queue on Build-a-bear to maybe have a shot to purchase "The Child".  Been waiting almost 2-1/2 hours already & only halfway through the queue.

^ Nice, I was expecting £150! £140 is still fairly steep but not so stinging on the wallet.

Noooooo!!!!!! Those SW battle sets have gone back to just 15% off. Oh well.... that incredible 20% off deal couldn't last forever, I suppose.

LOL, Its last weeks episode which we've only just watched in the UK on Disney+ With all this spare lockdown time I'm tempted to start at season 1 again!

I don't have cable/satellite/any kind of TV reception. I wait for DVDs. I really want The Mandalorian! I watched it at my cousin's house at Christmas.

Where the heck is all this 'spare lockdown time' everyone is talking about - I'm doing way more than I ever have before around the house and with/for the rest of the family. Darn it.
We will watch The Mandalorian again though, and maybe start some animated stuff as well. We are all fans of D+

Right? I’ve still been working full time from home every day and the longer the lockdown goes on, the more envious I am of the people able to do nothing/ hang around with family all the time (as long as they still have their job of course). I haven’t had much time to binge watch anything!

If you haven't watched them yet, The Clone Wars and Rebels are great shows. I would recommend watching Attack of the Clones then start watching TCW in the chronological order, rather than episode # order. It's a little more work in the first 2 1/2 seasons, but it's worth it to follow the stories a little better. Season 7 does start to overlap with Revenge of the Sith, so it might be worth throwing that in between Season 6 and 7.

Rebels can be watched completely on its own. It does not interact with the motion pictures as closely. Definitely watch TCW first though.

I totally get that. I'm putting in 10 hours a day to be confident of having got 8 proper hours work in with the kids disturbing me. Somewhere I'm supposed to fit 2 to 3 hours of teaching for each kid on a completely different syllabus, each day.

The head teacher is looking to defy the government back to school dates too.

When the Pirate Barracuda Bay set finally arrives (ordered May 4th) we'll all be building it together and trying to drag the process out a bit.

I particularly liked the Malevolence Trilogy of episodes at the beginning of the show and the final four episodes.  They're top notch and -as much as I hate to say it- really show how the Rey character could have been handled in the sequel trilogy.  Since they (initially) were going for the exiled farmboy with a greater destiny re-boot in TFA, Ahsoka's unwavering but guarded dedication to the ideals of the Jedi would have made for a much compelling and complete character.

She's the best post-OT SW character to be created thusfar.  (The Mandalorian and the Child are gaining, but we'll see how they handle future seasons.)  And Thrawn really doesn't count, as he was only has a passing appearance in Rebels.

(I think I would have bought the idea of a Sith Fleet if Thrawn were in charge of it.  Maybe.)

It’s worth watching The Clone Wars to see how JarJar (or representative Binks as most of the characters call him) continues to manipulate behind his nincompoop demeanour. A particular highlight is the 2 episodes in Season 6 where he teams up with ‘Masterin’ Mace’. I couldn’t stop thinking what it would’ve been like with actual Sam Jackson!

I started The Empire Strikes Back last night, finished it tonight. I have no idea how many times I've seen it, dozens at least. Observations: the stop-motion Tauntauns still look really good to me; Frank Oz's performance of Yoda is fantastic; we need an updated LEGO TIE Bomber; and all devices, when they fail to work, should sound like the Falcon's hyperdive when it fails. Oh, and we need a LEGO TIE Bomber.

I was WFH up to the end of March, I work in IT surveying customer sites for installs of network kit, WIfi etc. I had a backlog of reports to get done so was working 12hr days at the kitchen table while also trying to home school a 9yr old who was given a very full timetable by her teachers (starts at 830am with reading and ends about 4pm once we've got all the various lessons done) But with nobody wanting engineers onsite I was furloughed on April 1st, we are not allowed to do any work for the company at all. With the latest news of slowly back to work, it looks as though I'll have at least another 6 weeks of this before getting back. Luckily my boss is making up the 20% for a couple of months once the government has paid their 80% so I'm ok. My wife is still WFH full time and is flat out for up to 10hrs a day at times, so I am head teacher now!

Back on SW animated series! I've watched all TCW and Rebels and just started on Resistance, its nowhere near as good and feels very childlike, but its still got some cool ships in. I'm going to try my daughter on Rebels as I really enjoyed it.

Thanks guys for chiming in about the amount of free time people have - don't get me wrong, I know I'm lucky to still be getting paid my normal pay and I do like the times when I can actually enjoy being with my gang (rather than trying to get them to do school work whilst I also try to work) so my moan isn't altogether serious. I worry more about those in worse circumstances, which I won't go into on this thread.

Watched ep1 of The Mandalorian with the rest of the gang on Tuesday - they all completely loved it (my youngest, who is the resident SW fan in our house was still enthralled even though it was the second time around for him) and even the sci-fi-phobe got excited when The Child got introduced. We had to watch ep2 right after they liked it that much.

My eldest said that she couldn't wait to watch the rest with us all, so would be continuing by herself (which is high praise for her, even if it does annoy the crap out of me when she tells me I can't continue a series without her being involved).

Anyway, yeah. Can't wait until they ship The Razor Crest - it's an iconic design.

I know it’s a very small thing in the grand scheme, but if any Star Wars fans were looking forward to seeing Ahmed Best and his Padawans’ antics in Jedi Temple Challenge like me (on starwarskids.com or their YouTube channel) it’s been delayed, like pretty much anything else new this week for understandable reasons. However, unlike many other things that have no new date, it has been given a new release of 10th June next week as things stand.

I’ve only seen trailers so far but looks like the production values for a kids challenge show are very high. It won’t happen (unless it’s a Comic Con 2021 exclusive or something) but I’d love a couple of minifigs based on the new characters. Seeing as TLG are potentially willing to do other edges of the Star Wars universe.

Had Anakin ship came with more figures I would buy no doubt, Grievous ship is cool (Kenobi is the same as Mustafar Duel) and needs a discount, AT-AT price wow but I'll buy, never got the first Jedi Duel so I'll get this one, Razorcrest, AAT (needed Maul Commandos but its a most), 501st pack and the two ST sets should have been replaced with two of the following: Venator, AT-ACT, Tie Bomber, Tie Reaper, StarHawk, Star Destroyer.
  • LordmoralLordmoral Member Posts: 927
Tomorrow there will be a showing of the gameplay of SW Squadrons and for the third time we see a Tie Reaper (and first apperance of the NR Starhawk Cruisers) and we still haven't gotten a set on that ship. The Zeta Transport Shuttle (Rogue One) also doesn't have a LEGO model.

I would bleed money to get a playset or Tantive scaled version of Rogue One the ship. Likewise pretty much any other vehicle they didn’t make from that film. But to Lego it’s like Rogue One hasn’t existed since 2017 (token calendar figs notwithstanding).

I’ve heard rumours that we could get some more Final Season Clone Wars sets in January 2021 but that could be wishful thinking from the originator more than anything.

I really think that range of Rogue One sets was probably the best group of Star Wars sets released to date. Even the battle back is arguably the best battle pack ever released IMHO.

I really don't want to sound negative (as I really like some of these sets as a LEGO Star Wars fan), but between the crazy pricing and constant re-hashing, I'm honestly a little  disappointed in this wave. (although there are some gems!) $40 for the AAT? It's even more laughable that General Grievous's Starfighter is $80! (actually the same price as the extremely-overpriced Sith Tie Fighter). Death Star II Duel seems like a good set, albeit being a remake a bit on the pricey side. I actually don't mind the remade Anakin's Jedi Interceptor as that is from one of my all-time favorite movie scenes; the 501st battle pack is great (maybe I'm crazy, but I'm just not all that over it like MandR and everyone else currently is). The Night Buzzard (Knight of Ren's Ship), while not my favorite, seems new and fresh (so I definitely appreciate that). And the Resistance I-TS Transport comes from a theme park - and.....I'd just rather have sets from the actual movies. AT-AT is cool (a bit pricey though). Just my thoughts!

This might be the first year I’ll buy a Star Wars Advent Calendar! I need it for the christmas sweaters and I like a lot of the other figures. Happy to get another porg and I wasn’t interested in the sets that D-0 appeared in, so this’ll be the cheapest set to get it.

@Koolbrix2018 sounds like a relatively balanced opinion in comparison to the front page responses, many of which just seem to discard everything as either a rubbish set or overpriced.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been numbed to Star Wars margins, but I fully expected the AAT to be £40 so it’s ‘nice’ that it’s £35, and expected the AT-AT to be £150 so £140 is better too. On the whole the prices are pretty much what I would expect.

On the controversial new Grievous Starfighter, #8095 was about £50 and was about the same size, one less actual minifig (A4-D instead) but had a side build with Grevious’ surgical chair. I’d guess inflation might make that the equivalent of £60 today, but that’s still way less than £75. The irony is that people would probably be fine with that price if there was a new Phase II Cody instead of a random Airborne Trooper, I guarantee the response would’ve been at least slightly different! Lego missed a chance there.

Would the dark blue 1/4 curved bricks in the new AAT be the appropriate shade for recoloring Slave 1 to Jango Fett colors or is it too dark? I keep waiting for this part in particular to come in the right color as Lego sure doesn't seem interested in revisiting the EP 2 version.

^If we go by set #7153 then I think it's the same dark blue. If you want something movie accurate I couldn't tell you if the color is right. It all depends on what set you want to change UCS or system.

I saw on the front page that @CapnRex101 said that the Grevious figure was expensive to make. So maybe the costs have increased heavily? However, not sure it is £20 worth of increased cost.

It’s kind of retro because cheat codes used to unlock characters or red bricks for previous Lego Star Wars games, I can definitely remember using a couple on LSW 1 & 2.

The store I usually buy from is still waiting for AT ATs and Death Star Final Duel. They got everything else.
One thing about the Star Wars sets in Australia is they don't seem to be coming from China. Maybe they are saying this factory make these themes and this factory make these other themes. I dunno. Just find it strange every Star Wars set that released this wave has come from a different part of the world than where it usually comes from.
