When I look for pallet stores online, all I find are places that sell pallets :(

Its a store that purchase large boxes of stuff loaded onto wooden pallets that have been returned to stores or overstocked items and then resales them at a cheaper price

Thanks for asking the direct version of the question, as opposed to my obtuse method :)

I found #75263 at Walmart in the clearance aisle. Price was $7.49. The UPC had been removed, so it was an open box. I peeked inside and saw what appeared to be everything, so I bought it. It turned out to be complete, so I was happy with that.

Not happy that someone took the UPC off and probably pasted it to a larger set to get it for $9.99.

Does it count as a great find if it is a second #60052 Cargo Train you found in the back of a closet while cleaning that you don't remember buying? Asking for a friend.
No, no.  I'm asking for a friend.

I got these for $75 from Craigslist.
    hidden side - beach buggy
    hidden side - subway
    hidden side - fairground
    hidden side - lighthouse

A bit of buyers remorse because I jumped at the opportunity but I kinda got the feeling these fell off a truck.

I guess this counts as a find. Earlier last week I found a #5357 Largo Quatro Box at Savers for $5. It was in it's original tub and it turned out to be 100% complete. That pretty much doubled my Quatro collection.

^  Was that complete?  Dang, amazing to find a listing like that with no bids and to get for that price.  Now if only I could nab a listing like that for the HE...

Three different shops in £6 and £7 bags, with odd collection of other bits (no sets). There's a weird repetition of missing parts - and where are the heads? Why? All look to be virtually un-played with though, very strange. Also got a Greyback in one if the bags.
last year i acquired a burrow set without molly or ginny (and also was tragically missing Bellatrix's hair). I think you got some of my extras ;) Also there is literally no rhyme or reason to what you get in Lego used bulk hauls XD

My brother found Thanos: Ultimate Battle and Thor's Weapon Quest together lightly used on Ebay for $60... and Thanos had a complete Infinity Gauntlet!

While waiting for my husband waiting to collect his prescription, I popped into nearby charity shop and found some reasonably priced boxes and bags of Lego. There was a fair amount of Mega Bloks, but some interesting sets and minifigures, and one box had a load of old Lego, including some Vintage Space.
that Obi Wan and Ninjago Fangpyre snake guy with two heads are good finds. I also like all those classic printed bricks!

Second-hand shops seem to run the gamut when it comes to pricing Lego, even in the same shop. I've seen bags with old, dirty bricks and loads of other stuff mixed in (or just bags with clone bricks) at the same price I just (last day before it closed for corona) bought #42077 Rally Car for (€15, complete with instructions, I just had to replace a couple of damaged pins). And then I found a bag which cost €2.50 with four complete Chima Speedorz sets, also with instructions: #70140 Stinger Duel, #70138 Web Dash, #70137 Bat Strike and #70136 Banana Bash. Or a boxed #41321 Snow Resort Off-Roader for €1.50, I do wonder how they make up their pricing?

The big boxes were £10 each, Except the box that had sets individually bagged, they were £2 each, and the carrier bags were £8 each. We have found over 20 sets, including an Airport set, and quite a few Star Wars sets, with figures too (mostly). A lot of the old stuff is broken, and will be thrown. Interestingly, there was a yellow base plate that turned out to be marked KUP which I found references to Tupperware. I've never heard of Tupperware Lego!!

@Adelec The logo says KLIP, which was a Lego clone made by a French company called Jouef. They're now part of Hornby I believe.

Very nice! I just finished washing mine (it sat on the floor for years and got very dusty). The other three sets are built, but I might not get to the monorail until tomorrow. I have all three monorail sets plus the accessory track packs, but no room to make a huge layout... unless I build vertically, kind of like #10261 Roller Coaster, maybe?

Yeah now I have to figure out where to put it!  But everything was in great shape and the motor and lights work perfectly.

I would like to see @SumoLego do a Where's Waldo book.
Sadly (or perhaps as a testament to my misused and misunderstood genius!), I have those books memorized, including those stupid lists on the back cover.

Why... 20 years later, can I immediately remember the exact location where in the World of Waldos, the one Waldo with a missing shoe?  Why!?!?!?!?!

And Wanda, Woof, the Wizard, scrolls, glasses and one character from the previous page....

I'd still find something interesting to find.  Like a lot of recycling bins.

Are they recycling, or re-use bins? The logo says Once Upon a Child.

Stick that in your noticing stuff pipe and smoke it! :)

Not the greatest but $2.19 each at or local Goodwill. They retail for $4.99. It's nice to get to back to Goodwill!

    Hi All,

first time post on your forum - so please go easy if ive picked the wrong thread. :)

I was after some advice on resale of an original brickstructures/lego architecture set; Ive owned for 10 years.

I purchased them as a set direct from brickstructures USA in 2010; but forgot about it and only found it again recently in back of my cupboard.

All the sets are unopened, in mint condition and come in the original brickstructures shipping box with receipt. They are also all personally signed by Adam Tucker Reed (creator) and include 'Landmark Series' and 'Architecture Series'; i.e.
    1. Fallingwater (21005)
    2. Guggenheim Museum (21004)
    3. Sears Tower (21000),
    4. John Hancock Center (21001),
    5. the Empire State Building (21002),
    6. the Seattle Space Needle (21003);
    7. The White House (21006).

Ive seen the fallingwater go for a significant sum as discontinued etc, but would like thoughts on complete set.

Would you please be able to provide any advice or direction on resale.

    Many Thanks

    Nick

This thread is for great deals you have encountered in acquiring Lego. Not selling.

(Sorry to continue, but the editor timed out on me)

Its ok to start a thread to ask for advice on pricing. But you will get the standard advice - check recent sold prices on Bricklink and eBay. If you want to sell locally without the overhead of those sites, try local oriented sites like FB Marketplace, Craigslist, or NextDoor. But you’ll almost certainly need to set a price lower than BL or eBay.

    Welcome to the forums, btw!
