I am very, very pleased with the announcement for #75292! LEGO did Baby Yoda right!

    https://brickset.com/article/48992/the-mandalorian-sets-revealed-at-new-york-toy-fair
Baby Yoda looks great... too bad there isn’t a Beskar armor variant of the Mandalorian.  The Razor Crest is not too bad for the price point- to get any more screen accurate the part count would have to increase quite a bit (i.e. this 4000 piece version on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/dvjmow/happy_mandalorian_day_heres_my_custom_razor_crest/ )
@samiam391 is currently building a Razor Crest MOC (different than the one posted above though - he's building this one http://papaglop.blogspot.com) which looks to be very impressive!

And yes, having a new minifig with the Beskar armor would have been really nice.

Pre-order is a waste of time. There will be plenty of promos in the Fall worth getting alongside it. If I'm going to overpay $130 I will be getting something as a bonus too.

Agreed @Bumblepants, I absolutely plan on buying, but I'll either try to get it discounted from Amazon or Walmart or get some sort of a nice promo from S@H.

Why are you not acting unreasonably and immediately pre-ordering a set available SEVEN months from now!?!?!??!?

Now is the time to panic!!! Buy, buy, buy.  Pre-order five of these, and then have everyone in your family order five each as well...

Well, that model is in the queue now right after the Monarch ISD and the K-2SO model @bandit778 posted about recently...

This is curious, apparently the website says that is comes with "new-for-August-2020 The Mandalorian and the Child LEGO minifigures," but that Mando figure looks exactly like the one in the AT-ST Raider.
Could this mean we're getting a different figure than the one we see in the set? If so, that'd be awesome, especially if it actually came with some arm printing. For $130, it's pretty ludicrous that you don't get a better-detailed figure/unique figure than what's in a set that's less than half the price.
… Or course, it could just be that this is a misinterpretation on either my or LEGO's part, but I'm kind-of hoping it's the case that LEGO was trying to hop on the Mando-Merch train as soon as they could, and in doing so the figure in the set is a stand-in.
    I dunno, thoughts?
  • 560Heliport560Heliport Member Posts: 4,269
I think it's reasonable that they don't have a different Mando to show now, so they used the existing one. I'm sure a lot of what was shown at NY was prototypes, not the actual items that will be sold.

It's just baffling since that's what it shows on the LEGO website now, has something like this happened before? Or no...

Well, #75052 shows two Luke Skywalker minifigs, one holding macrobinoculars and frowning, the other with a lightsaber and smiling. #75014 also shows two Luke Skywalkers. So there is a precedent for official photos containing errors or inaccuracies.

Good to see the first images of the Razor Crest.

However, LEGO seemed to have missed a golden opportunity; why on earth didn't they include a Speeder Bike as well?  Perhaps after several years of trying to clear their stockpile, they've actually ran out?  One of the few sets that could have been improved by a Speeder Bike, and they don't include one!

In all seriousness, it looks like a decent set and I'm sure it will do well :-)

^ My guess LEGO wants to avoid the 'punching Baby Yoda' fallout and criticism.  Because that was actually a thing.

(Which is also why we don't have a Cable minifigure.)

D-O revealed on the front page. Looks cute and I think it would display well with BB8 and R2-D2 (though I think the scale is all off) but it is WAY overpriced!

Would love to see a re-release of this set, or any Naboo Starfighter for that matter. I was in my dark ages until a couple of years ago. I'm a big prequel fan and prequel sets are at the top of my priority list. I was really happy with last year's podracer :)

I am immediately suspicious of this.  But I really think we need a Sith Infiltrator UCS.

I’m not so sure about system scale Naboo starfighters - we’ve had 4 or 5 now I think, plus Microfighters, planets and polybags. I’d like to see a brick built sea monster (any of them will do) to go with a new Gungan sub. But I would lean more towards the Clone Wars and Episode III for the prequels because there’s a lot more going on. As long as it’s not another clone Kashyyyk vehicle.

^ Maybe one or two token battle pack sets like the Battlefront games, or a good handful with larger sets like KOTOR perhaps? We still have nothing from Fallen Order though

Canon yes it is, but The High Republic is the new canon for Star Wars galaxy of the past I read, so maybe it’s going to be quite big... and lead onto new live action series etc. New characters, and old (image of Yoda seen on the drawing board). Should be good, and for our generation we are in from the start i.e. comics first appearance of xyz.

Got my response back from LEGO Customer Service on whether or not the Mandalorian figure in the Razor's Crest is a placeholder figure or not, based on the product description.

"Thanks for getting in touch with us!

You've got a great eye! We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we're reaching out for some clarification.

We'll find that it's 1 of 2 things....  The minifigure in the set will be as you see pictured, which means we'll be correcting the summary information OR we aren't able to show the actual figure yet due to an embargo by Disney™.

Since the set is available for pre-order, we think it's going to be the first situation but I want to be sure! I've made a note of your account and if it's actually going to be a different figure will email you again to let you know.  :)"

So TLG are admitting it would be false advertising to show the same minifigure as the AT-ST if it wasn’t actually that figure, whilst also admitting that the description of the set could be false advertising because it’ll most likely be the figure that’s pictured. Perhaps it’s not false and he has a different head or something?

So someone took a photo, then took the helmet off and turned the head 180°, put the helmet back on, took another photo, and didn't notice how screwed up the helmet is?!?

Could definitely go for some Fallen Order sets, especially if it gets a sequel. Would be an excellent opportunity to give us a TIE Reaper, hopefully with Second Sister and Ninth Sister figures and maybe a Purge Trooper or two, though the latter would also be nice for a battle back. The Mantis would be a sweet addition too.

On the Fallen Order sets I already made a discussion of possible sets:

Anyone seen the new SW Clone Wars cartoons yet?!?
I did. (Well at least the first two that were aired so far)
Now I am very curious to see if TLG will develop a set based on this 'Bad Batch' of clones that are the centre focus of these two episodes of the new Clone Wars cartoon series.
Would be nice if TLG designs special prints as well as perhaps helmet moulds etc. for these new characters: Hunter, Tech, Crosshair, and Wrecker. A Rex minifig with all his distinct blue markings on his uniform, pauldron, and helmet will be very desirable too.
I wish TLG would do more printing on arms as well as the sides of minifig legs in general.
Perhaps TLG can include these five minifigs in that new UCS Republic gunship (LAAT/i) that will possibly become a set as it received most votes in that poll which included a TIE-bomber, and Rebel Medical Frigate as well.

Ok, so, hear me out on this, Hunter and Crosshair's helmets look very similar to first order flametrooper helmets... that would be a clever part re-usage

Doesn't look anything like the stuff from the Disney (sequel) trilogy to be fair. Hunter wears a helmet that except for a T shaped visor is a typical phase II clone trooper helmet. Crosshair's helmet resembles most closely that of Commander Neyo CC-8826, who in SW ep.III RotS when order 66 was executed, while riding a BARC speeder, killed jedi general Stass Allie. And the other two guys wear helmets that, while having a familiar look (perhaps something other than SW?!? Warhammer, or some other sci-fi games/films/cartoons universe), might very well be a new design not seen before (unless of course I am mistaken).

Now that I mention it, I would not mind TLG designing more new minifig blasters too. The Mandalorian's riffle e.g. (as well as the riffles used by the Tusken Raiders and Luke on Tatooine) don't look anything like what the Lego designers gave the Mando minifig in the one set he currently is in (the ATST walker with red leg). Wrecker (the big clone in front centre right on the picture) walks around in the cartoon with a blaster that looks a lot like the standard UNSC assault riffle from the Halo (the FPS game).
TLG designed for both DC cinema and Marvel cinema Lego sets, special minifig blasters (laser/ray guns or whatever you call them) that were only in a couple of sets (think of: Man of Steel & Guardians of the Galaxy). Lego SW sets could really use the inclusion of a larger variety in blasters (as well as quantity IMO). Since it is Lego; a couple of new elements in addition which allow you to attach other elements would be great too. A good non-licensed example are the binoculars with the minifig space gun. https://brickset.com/parts/design-95199 The tiny SW blaster pistol + a lightsaber hilt also make for a different weapon. That tiny blaster pistol is a nice element if only you could attach something to the back to resemble a shoulder stock that is minifig scale and compatible. A couple of elements which might also be useful in other ways (such as minifig props/utensils ending up in modular buildings to decorate the facade etc.) and serving other functions too would probably also be appreciated by Lego fans that are not necessarily SW fans / collectors of SW minifigs.

I feel like their helmets (mostly crosshair's) are more enlongated towards the front. Rex's helmet in the show doesn't look like the same shape. (also your description of commander Neyo sounded like some kind of fact file copy+pasted off wookiepedia XD)

That looks really great kungFuKenny! I figure there is enough room on your MOC too to actually pose the figures on board standing on that (brown) walkway/platform too. That is such a pain in the arse trying to put figures there on the official set. It is just all a bit too small, or my adult fingers are just too big.
Did you also built an interior for multiple minifigs to be seated, and perhaps a shower too?

Slow weekend so I finished up a long running project- a UCS version of the AT-Hauler from Solo... I was never happy with #75219 so went for my own version...

I started the arms months ago and used technic beams with plates attached so that I could tile all 4 sides.  I greebeled a bit differently than reference pics just for visual interest...

Now I’ll have to build a scale AT-ST to ride underneath!

    ^^THAT IS BA-DASSSS
    Awesome job!  Love it.

Any proper Lego spaceship should be equipped with a shower and a toilet. Sanitation in the vast vacuum of space is of utmost importance!  Does the latest UCS Millennium Falcon actually come with a loo etc. (don't have that MILF) It has an interior of sorts. Even the Mandalorian's spaceship (in the TV series) has a loo (don't know if the not yet released Lego set does though).
This awesome MOC of the Razor Crest for sure does:
