^ Is that a Kaadu with googly eyes I see!

Glad to see I made the collection. Do you have Boga hidden there somewhere? I’d like to think I have most Star Wars creatures including him but this collection of pretty much everything else is massive!
  • TkattTkatt Member Posts: 472
^The googly eyes are pretty much a perfect fit on the kaadu.
I'm close to having all the Star Wars animals. I know I'm missing the Boga and the Corellian Hound. There are probably a couple others I'm unaware of too.

What a collection. Amazing dedication. Missing a few Scala/Belville ones maybe but still incredible.

Thanks. Belville and Scala are not easy to collect. It's hard to find, usually expensive, and often weird. There are some pieces I'd really like to have, mainly the cats and dogs.
    Not this one though...

The cool thing about that dog is it was produced in a seriously rare colour that BL/BO don't recognise.

Crouching Cat 6251. Does anyone know of a Light Stone Gray version of this cat? I've seen one for sale, but it doesn't seem to have been in any sets.

Maybe it was in a "magazine gift"? Those parts don't seem to be in the inventory.

There was a Very Light Bluish Grey one in 5944 Cat Show released in 2004.

You can see it in the inventory here: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=5944-1

Ok, hoping someone can help me and figured this thread would be the best to find it.

I’ve been trying to build a classic spaceman in grey but am completely lost with the differences in grey on bricklink and on here too. I need an airtank and helmet in I think light blueish grey ? Do these pieces exist in this colour ? It seems to be listed as medium stone on here (presumably Lego colour name ?) and the airtank is listed as a loose piece on bricklink but I can’t find any figures that it comes with only ones with light grey airtanks.

Are light grey and light blueish grey just the same colour....so confused !?!

afaik, you can only get the modern helmet in light bluish grey, the old (classic) helmet and air tanks are only available in light grey.
Light grey is the original colour for classic space LEGO parts, light bluish grey was introduced as a replacement circa 2003 iirc.
    light grey airtanks
light grey helmet sadly, there are none available in the UK from what I can see.

light bluish grey helmet (better matches the torso, but the shape may offend the eye of the purist) might be better value to buy a Heroic Knight, which w as the only place the helmet was released.

    Hope that helps!

@[email protected] - if it helps, the old grey air tanks were never the "right" colour, probably because they're made from a different plastic from the minifig. IMO they look fine with a modern grey space torso.
And it's generally accepted by many spacers that the modern helmets with trans-clear visor looks better than the old one anyway.

Heresy! (Especially coming from the man with two classic spacemen on his avatar).

    @Mr_Cross thank-you you’re a star that makes sense !

So basically I can’t make a mono type grey spaceman I’d have to mix and match a bit. A light blueish grey helmet would match nicely (if I can deal with the modern shape 😁 ) and then add a light grey tank if I can source one.

I thought I’d seen a grey helmet in my sons collection which started me on this journey (along with @Paperballpark posts ) and I know he has a heroic knight.

I struggle with all the colours but hopefully starting a monofig collection will help retain the info.

@omnium thank-you, as there’s no light bluish grey tank then that’s an easy choice and there isn’t an older grey space torso is there ? There I was thinking it was hard collecting Lego animals but no....

@omnium thank-you, as there’s no light bluish grey tank

You just need to give them a different job where they don't need airtanks.

^ Honestly I don’t know if I can see a difference with my old eyes.

Yes defo on the orange spaceman especially if I can find the book on discount then an army of orange little dudes.

Hoping for a darker blue version like the colour of the CMF space marine type figure or a deep purple but still need grey and black first :-)

^ Dark Red too. I'd just really, really like an officially released dark red Classic Space dude. Then maybe Lime, Light Bright Orange, Brown, Purple, Dark Bluish Grey, Dark Orange...

    ...Teal, Tan.

Dark Green? Am I being obsessive?

^ Yes but that’s pretty usual with Lego :-)

Dark red would definitely be cool, in fact any darker, deeper colour. Imagine Paperballparks monofig collection but all with little classic space emblems, airtanks and helmets !

Collecting parts in different colours is highly addictive !

I expect the next will be that orangey nougaty colour ("Dark Orange")that appeared in #70431 HIdden Side Lighthouse, saying as they've already made the helmet and air tanks.
But personally, I want another #70841 Space Squad pack with red and non-scratched blue. I don't have anywhere near enough red spacers in good condition. I bought loads of blue for my profile pic shoot, but again, I will always crave after 50 or 100 more!!!

With the appearance of the new blue teddy in the BaM section of the stores, I thought I'd try and see if I could get one of each. I have a couple of questions!

Are these all there are of this mould? https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=1&q=teddy&catLike=W&catString=147&sortBy=N&sortAsc=A&itemBrand=0&catType=P&v=1

I seem to have two of the "standard" nougat coloured ones, but they have different coloured stomachs/muzzles. There's a (quick) photo below which I think shows the difference. Is one just faded/sun damaged, or is it actually a different print? It doesn't appear in the Bricklink list above.

Other than sorting that out, I just need the Simpsons, green, bow-tie, and pink ones. We did have a pink one, but it's somewhere on the ground at High Barnet Tube Station, last I saw it…!

Yes, I have the two black and white ones from the BrickLink list (one with a missing eye, and one a panda). I just don't know whats up with my other off-colour nougat one above!

I think you are on the right track with the Bricklink list- your 2 examples seem to have slightly different chest prints also (flat versus rounded at top).  This teddy bear was in sets way back in 2012 so maybe they varied colors a bit over the years?

Another interesting thing— in exploring the BL database it seems this teddy was included in  #42070  6x6 All Terrain Tow Truck - maybe tow truck drivers need a comfort bear for those tough jobs! :-)

Bears on trucks is a thing. Apparently a thing nobody can quite explain.

I clipped one to the front of my 60220 garbage truck mod for this very reason. Should have used the simpsons one for scruffiness but had to settle for the standard with bowtie.

Thank you, I think that's perhaps the closest we'll get to an explanation! Of the two I have, one came with the CMF sleepyhead, and the other was bought separately on BrickLink before that, so the origins of that one are completely unknown.

There is a small bin truck that goes round our city emptying the public bins, like a pick-up truck with a big cage on the back. Any soft toys they find, they string up on the sides of the cage. It is a sad collection of orphaned toys.

    A excellent collection of animals!
I collect minifig animals myself and have at least 2 of every one, but stay away from minidolls , duplo etc ones..
We got a few new ones already this year and in summer the hammerhead shark and stingray (updated mould I assume) are coming in city. I also hope series 20 CMF will have as many as series 19 did, maybe a pigeon and a sheep since they are long overdue :)

^ I’d love a Rhino and a Lion and a load of day to day animals too. It’s the first thing i check the new releases of City sets for.

Hopefully as Lego have made a stag in Harry Potter (Patronis or something ? ) and there’s more animals to come in that theme maybe they’ll make real coloured versions soon.
