I'm trying to re-build the red mini from #75894 in reddish brown for a Valentines model for my wife as it was her first car in 1980. I assumed it would be a straightforward job of swapping out the red bits for brown ones, except that some of them aren't available in reddish brown! I can adapt all of the bits that aren't available in the right colour except for one, where I'm struggling and would appreciate any suggestions.

It's part 6252037 I can get in reddish brown and can't work out how to replace it and still keep the accurate lines of the model. This one:

It goes here:

Any suggestions hugely appreciated. Thanks

It wouldn't be as round but an easy fix would be 1*2 cheese slope or two 1*1 cheese slopes on top of a 1*2 plate. At any distance other than super close that would probably look decent enough. Perhaps someone else has a more complex and better solution.

I did try a couple of cheese slopes and wasn't happy, but have just looked again. They need to be mounted on a 1 x 2 plate to get the height and don't look too bad in all honesty. Probably just me being picky. My wife isn't into Lego anyway so it won't affect the gesture!

Possibly try to incorporate part 6091 in the build. Would need to rework insides but outside should be similar. Just a thought.

That would have been perfect, but unfortunately they are too deep and can't be reworked in that area due to the mud guard component.

Could you try a couple of 30165?

You'll need to fix the boot on using only two technic half pins (top and bottom) and you lose the illusion of the back seat. I think the rear windscreen should still fit around those extra studs though...

Using 4 of this part would work:

You'd just lose the back seat and have the rear boot assembly just connected by one stud instead of three.

Thanks @Mr_Cross. They look like they will work ok. The seat has to go and the back light/boot assembly doesn't have much to hang onto, but it's not like she's going to be pushing it around on the floor (probably).

I've tries those @Brainslugged, but the depth isn't sufficient because of the placement over the wheel arch assembly, unless I'm missing something.

Appreciate the suggestions. Looks like I'll be able to muddle it through now. Just need to give my friend his mini back and try and get one of my own without breaking the bank.
