Hey chaps, calling from Winterpeg where it currently sits at -34C with the windchill, I came across a Harley wannabe brick kit from DeCool whom I never heard of, put it together and was hooked...! I have no idea how it compares to Lego stuff as I have never built any Lego. I am 67 years old and looking for a new hobby. I build plastic styrene kits of armour and aircraft, doing THAT since 1971, and I have a woodworking shop in my basement. I love "gadgets" of all kinds, especially ones you put together so when I finished that bike kit I had to do more research.
WOW...there seems to be(or were) quite the trade wars between Lego, DeCool, MouldKing, etc. over copyrights and stuff. I really have no interest in getting involved in those flaming wars, I just want to build some cranes and dozers.
My big question here is, what are the best kits that have all the motors, remotes, WiFi, yadda, yadda, yadda, that a person could really sink their teeth into...? Again, I'm speaking here of cranes, big dozers and front end loaders.
Thanks in advance for any help...MUCH appreciated. Ya, I know, I'm still a kid that hasn't grown up yet...hahaha...!!

Of course there is always GBC, but that way leads to madness.......
As you want to build highly functional vehicles, Technic by Lego is going to be far more detailed and reliable for parts than any other similar brands I know of - with these builds it’s really important to know the quality of the pieces is the best it can be to make mechanisms move properly.

Good point on costco.ca though, they can have 20% off on a large set you’d never think would be on sale!
Welcome Uncle, I think the rest of the prairies is feeling Winterpeg’s weather right about now!
