I've seen some buzz that Lego and Warner have parted ways, and that Lego has now partnered with Universal? I haven't seen any reputable reports on this, but i suppose it might explain Lego taking on IPs like Trolls and Minions. Has anyone seen a press release about this? Any ideas what this might mean for the films going forward? I suppose this means no more DC heroes popping up. That'll be disappointing. It could mean that we'll see more Universal classic monsters again though!
I guess I'm glad to hear that Lego will continue releasing films. The Lego Movie tie-in sets are consistently brilliant (and some of the Trolls sets look quite inspired). It'll likely involve an entire overhaul though, so favorites like Emmett and Metalbeard who fall under a shared Warner/Lego license won't likely be making appearances in the future I'd imagine.
