sure, but it prob won't be till Sunday/ Monday as i'm getting ready to leave town for the weekend. I did a simple swap and replaced the roof pieces with white ones, removed the "deer" antlers and added some "snow" to the side with the steps and stumps. I was a few white tiles short so I used a few plates and capped one a trans blue tile to try and make it look like that little area had iced over. Pleased with it but i'm sure it looks pretty amateurish to other MOC and modders. N
Now I'm trying to decide how to add a partially frozen pond area off the side with the little dock. I'm super new to the lego hobby and my part stash is fairly limited.
I think you're missing some leaves from the top and a bit of fence though! ;-)
I have been on a bit of a building spree over the last couple of months
Starting with the tie striker and y wing (see above somewhere) I moved on and built krennics shuttle. Another great and huge build. Those wings! The Rogue one sets are fantastic. I also built the second R1 AT-ST I had. So now I have 2 to menace the Ewok village.
Then to round out my lambda style craft I built #75221 Imperial Landing Craft. Some nice build techniques, but shame about the gaps. Mainly got it for the sandy stormtroopers. Love them.
At some point I rounded out my Star Wars building with #75209 Han Solo’s landspeeder. A really enjoyable little build. Want to have a go at building some of my own speeders now.
Then I switched themes and built #70618 Destiny’s bounty as I was craving building a different kind of ship, and my son was very keen to build it. I have been looking forward to building it since it came out, but did not realise how much I would love it. Some many lovely little details and such an enjoyable build. I need to figure out where I put the 2nd one I got so I can enlarge it. I want more sets like this. A pirate or imperial boat like this would be amazing.
Then a couple of quick builds with #70610 flying jelly sub and #70629 piranha attack. So many interesting parts, and the goofyness is fantastic. Need to dig out the manta ray to finish the gang off.
Now I was very much in the swing of building and moved on to #10260 downtown diner. I am not sure what I think of this. Maybe it is modular building fatigue, or something lacking in the set, but it just did not grab me during the build. I love the look of the building and would love to get a second set and extend the diner. But after such an enjoyable build with the bounty, this seemed hollow somehow. I do like the modern printed faces over the classic. Also still trying to figure out where in the line of buildings to put it.
Finally, before parting it out I built #70731 city of stiix. And that killed my building enthusiasm for a while. I got it a few years back on sale as I thought it had some interesting pieces I could use and it looked interesting. There is nothing particularly wrong with the set. It is large with reasonable detail. My son loves it, but to me there is something off about it. I think it is the same thing that generally repels me from ninjago in general. Which is why I was surprised that I love the movie sets. Just can’t figure out what the difference is. It is not just the goofyness of some the sets....
Anyway that is enough to bore everyone with. I have since been having fun mocing and will post about that when my b&p order arrives and I can finish it off.
Day 4: Combining the Harry Potter Advent calendar with the Christmas build-up can sometimes produce interesting results :).
Very cute build, and to me it's prettier than this year's GWP.
Building a modified Green Grocer with parts I have, I've gotten to the point where I need to inventory the parts I don't have, and there are a couple of substitutions but I like how it's going! Made the roof a bit taller than the original too since I don't have certain bricks and replaced the awning with a bit of greenery and windows!
(Yes, that's #4002019 Christmas X-Wing, this year's employee gift.)
Some nice touches in the instructions, including Christmas decorations throughout:
A progress bar:
And at several points the current build is superimposed on the final product:
i see those features are on the online instructions. is this a recent thing or have they been that way for a while?
