    I like the Architecture sets, but I'm not getting these - Dubai looks just like it does in RL (boring) and I have never been to Tokyo and don't plan to (which is my other criteria for buying these).

    Nice! Just seen the new Minecraft 2020 sets: https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Minecraft/year-2020

    Loving the new illager figs. Looks like a couple of Pillagers, a Vindicator and also a Ravager, as well as an Iron Golem in the small Pillager Outpost, with Scarecrow Targets. No Evoker that I can see, or Watchtower, but that's okay. Perhaps we might get something along those lines later in the year. Also, new Player skins, Villagers, Pandas, various Ocelots / Cats and Bamboo!

    The new Big Figs look good as well, Creeper & Ocelot and Pig & Zombie Baby.

    A really good season so far! :-)

    ^^As this is the "2020 Lego Sets to Buy" thread, i should probably add that they're all on my list! ;-)

    I also like the look of #60267 Safari Adventure and #75270 Obi-Wan's Hut, but not a huge amount more so far. The 2020 Modular is likely to be a "must", of course.

    My list so far has:
    -Catching up on AT-ST Raider and perhaps Death Star Cannon with the 2020 Obi Wan Hut on May 4 and if I can get it the Lamba Cargo Shuttle (the one which LEGO decided somehow needed Obi Wan and R2);
    -USC Millenium Falcon (if I get a job and the $$$$ can be spent there);
    -Safari Adventure, Bulldozer Construction Site, Ice Cream Truck and maybe Street Sweeper.
    Gonna be a cheap year in theory as not to many things interest me.

    Gonna be a cheap year in theory as not to many things interest me.
    This gets said a lot every winter wave reveal and then by May when all the bigger and more elaborate summer stuff starts to appear the follow up 'oh dang I thought this was going to be a cheap year but not anymore'
    What? Never, hey I, I mean my bank account has a limit.

    I must have been really unobservant / slow, take your pick, but as well as the "Cats" and "Ocelots" I mentioned earlier in the new Minecraft 2020 sets, there is, of course, a Fox in #21162 The Taiga Adventure! The bushy tail and the pic on the box art rather gives it away, though it does use the same head mould and body build as the Cat / Ocelot.
    Also, there's a small polybag in the new article on the main site, #30394 The Skeleton Defense, so that goes on the "To Get" list as well.
    Right, what else have I missed? I suppose it's worth highlighting that the Iron Golem in #21159 The Raider Outpost is a new build from previous versions.

    I saw the 2020 polybags and they look neat but then these were revealed, four more City sets.
    I am so going to acquire that Tuning Shop to start making my Factory MOC, what do you think?

    Ok, so now the dust has settled somewhat on the Jan/Feb releases, my to buy list can be safely updated. It was like this:
    Marvel, Overwatch, Speed Champions
    And now it's this:
    Brickheadz:
    #40379 : Bear - my wife loves teddy bears, and if I get her a Lego one, hopefully she'll like that too!
    #40436 : Lucky Cat - she likes cats too, so...
    Creator:
    #30575 : Train - it just looks really nice and well-made - no other Creator sets inspire me at the minute
    Marvel Super Heroes:
    Massive cull of sets - I would love some of the minifigs but I'm not buying entire sets for those. Bricklink is the way, although they might be quite expensive... I'll cope without them. The things that remain are -
    #30453 : Captain Marvel and Nick Fury - just because it's a polybag and so shouldn't be too expensive (cries as he thinks of the potential GWP threshold) and I want that uniform on Vers.
    #76144 : Hulk Helicopter Drop - yep, it's a 2020 release so it goes on here - to complete (I think) my Endgame time travel nano-suit versions of the Avengers. And Rescue. And a helicopter.
    Star Wars:
    #75267 : Mandalorian Battle Pack - the recent TV show is really making me like these guys. But now I want The Mandalorian from #75254 to go with them. But again, I don't want to buy a walker just for one fig. We'll see...
    Overwatch:
    Still wait and see on these...
    Speed Champions:
    #30342 : Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO - it's a poly, and I'd be annoyed if I didn't get this to go with the larger version. Looks like a dog's dinner though. Which brings me on to...
    #76899 : Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO & Urus ST-X - I love the Huracan (which is why I want the poly) so I'll get this. That Urus though. Words fail me.
    #76895 : Ferrari F8 Tributo - lovely looking Ferrari. Might be nice to MOC into an F40 or Testarossa. Might get 2... or 3... Hmm...
    #76896 : Nissan GT-R Nismo - love the GT-R and despite the lights not looking great at the front, I suppose it's the best they can get. Looks ace from the back.
    #76897 : 1985 Audi Sport Quattro S1 - the classic Quattro! I used to love seeing these on the telly during rally championships and the angular lines suit Lego nicely (now where's my Countach?).
    And that's it. I'm sure it'll get longer.

  • LordmoralLordmoral Member Posts: 935
    My updated list:
     City:
    -Bulldozer Construction (can never have enough construction workers);
    -Tunning Shop;
    -Ice Cream Truck;
    -Street Sweeper (the streets need a lot of cleaning);
    -Safari Truck (my 2019 LEGO gift for my dad);
    -Tuning Shop (it will be incorporated into a LEGO Factory MOC);
     Star Wars:
    -x2 Mandalorian BP (those stud shooters);
    -Raider AT-ST (2018 set);
    -Ben Hut;
    -UCS Falcon;
     Hidden Siden:
    -the school (if nothing else comes from City to make my own school)

    Definitely getting the Mandalorian pack #75267 as soon as I can. Duel on Mustafar #75269 and Obi-Wan's Hut #75270 are also on there.
    The Hidden Side Portal #70427 looks nice, but other than that, I'll stick to getting the 2019 sets on discount for now.
    The Minecraft Villager Raid #21160 looks fantastic, but I won't pay more than $100 for it, which from the size might mean waiting on a discount. I've got The Taiga Adventure #21162 down because I'll probably buy it eventually, no matter what. The Minecraft 'battle packs' always get me.
    Other than that, I'm pretty happy with picking up whatever's left over on my wishlist from last year.

    I'll have a few of these. Star Girl, for sure, a Batman (can't have enough batmans) and a few of the more prominent DC heroes. Not bothered about the villains. I never am.

    I totally missed this announcement when it was released but the two sets are must buy for me, hopefully on day one when released in Europe.
    Will get both sets. Anyone else?

    Cool article but like I said only official reveals are allowed here and not leaks or rumors, those have their own forums.

    It's a shop listing, not a leak nor a rumor. If there's an issue with it, the admins will address it. It's really not your concern.

    @klinton - you're right, and you can post wherever, but there is a specific thread for leaks which I think this post would be good for including (I know you didn't put the original link in here, but whatevs). Also of note is that some posters first language isn't English, and tone of post can be hard to get right.
    Just trying to enhance the forum experience... :-)

    I thank you for your support but keeping both the trend for all ______ releases to buy I want them to have both easy to verify sources and official announcements.

    I want to enter the Modular area (well I already did with both the Old Fishing Store and Ninjago City) but other than the ones in the parenthesis I just don't see one that fits my City.

    Slightly off topic: reflecting on someone saying they will wait buying large sets at official Lego store until 2x VIP points...
    There was a 2x VIP before black friday (if i remember correctly) and it seems like there is another 2x VIP drive now, if newsletter is correct - have not checked in stores.
    Are there ever any 2x VIP at the beginning of a year or during the first half of a year? On orders regardless of which sets one buys, i know ive seen 2x VIP on certain sets scattered over the year.

    Lego does occasionally offer double VIP on all purchases.  I know there have been three or four this year, just can't remember the specific dates.

    Thanks for sharing! Its amazing how i dont manage to remember these kind of things, even when they happen routinely. Its lucky that i remember May the 4th or deals on black friday - everything else i completely gone.

    Hope there will be 2x VIP in january then, or a GWP that suits my tastes.
    Because LEGO is good, more LEGO is even better but more+”free” LEGO makes a small part of me go ”Hehehehe” while rubbing hands together and looking smug.

    Oh now these are a great surprise, LEGO seems to be incorporating the modular buildings more and more into varolious themes and that Alphabet Truck letters may serve as signs:

    Well they keep popping, you might already know about the Donald Duck and Goofy with Pluto for the BrickHeads line but this interest me a lot:
    This will make a fine addition to my collection and I can turn this Helicopter into a military cargo for inside the athsmosphere and I don't have a TM figure yet so definetly a win.

    ^ I admit I never think of the possibilities of what to do with helicopters so would generally ignore this set, though the box looks awesome & as always the figs are great!  Although it seems large it might well fit in somebody’s plans, like yours, with a plain black color.

    I would welcome a review first to see how much space the helicopter features but I have read comments in that article making mention of a Police Helicopter a bit bigger (blue an white colors however) and I findly remember the Heavy Cargo Helicopter from the CITY Volcano subtheme, that one was a beast and anyone that makes military MOC can surely find an use for it.

    #4439 its one of the first sets out of my dark ages. Its currently sat on the desk next to me and is a real beast/ The body is 40 studs from cockpit to tail ramp, you can add another 12 studs front and back for the rotors. Proper two seater at the front as well.

    ^ #4440 from that range has to be about one of the best police stations they’ve ever done.  The whole forest police theme was truly awesome, showing just what can be done with themed police, setting the stage for all the themed police series to come.
