    At Half Price Books in Roseville, MN they have some vintage LEGO: a few sets with instructions, occasionally with boxes, and various sizes of loose parts: some sorted by color, some just random. Saturday I found a bag of random parts for $7.99... with a 3778 Cypress Tree! It's mine now. It's only slightly chewed, probably by a cat.

    Hmm been awhile since i visited there. We'd often have a Friday dinner at the Shoreview Red Robin, then pop into HPB Roseville to see what's new.

    ^best part is they literally live across the street from the town library which collects donations for their lego club (or did in the past at least)

    It was probably deliberately thrown in the trash, as opposed to being upcycled. Like, the kid did something awful and this was their punishment.

    I can just imagine the mother/father/kid sneaking out later to bring it back in and just being like 'oh crap....'
    First thing I thought was "They would surely get out all the bags and put the empty box in the trash, rather than risk it all going missing" but that might be optimistic...

    Found #2129 Dragster and a bunch of miscellaneous parts for $2.99 at Savers. The elastic for the dragster seems to have lost its stretch, barely moves the car, but still a cute little build.

    Picked up #21035 Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum brand spankin' new for $50 the other day. A local seller had a couple sealed copies he got discounted to flip. I've recently developed an Architecture interest, especially in NY buildings, so this was a good find for me.

    Nice set!  But I enjoyed all the FLW sets.

    @Jackad7 - That's pretty great. Sand green costs a pretty penny by itself. Any of the macaroni pieces? Those are the true expense of that set.

    Funny how it was Amazon’s Choice for “Lego fire brigade”. I’d be suspicious of a seller who lifted a pic off amazon instead of taking one themselves.

    Sometimes sellers embellish the price they paid for an item to make their listing seem like more of a deal. I guess it ocassionally works on the uninformed consumer.

    I think it’s pretty funny just how well Admiral Ackbar fits in with the Simpsons characters
