^Check the Insectoids line. I think it comes from there. either #6969 or #6977
Can verify #6969 as I have it.
    It came in four sets:

I have no idea how that clear plastic part would even connect with anything else Lego

Hi I have bought some LEGO and Merkur from 1980 for really good price 50€, but I have problem with this set #6987

They have built it step by step with manual, nothing was missing but when I have checked parts on bricklink list there are missing like 30 parts it seems a bit weird. Is it possible that bricklink list is not right? Photo of the build is their and nothing is missing there

Im asking because on bricklink there is 540parts listed and on brickset there is 569 parts listed

Part of the Bricklink/Brickset count discrepancy is that Bricklink doesn't count minifig pieces as part of the total piece count, while Brickset (and LEGO) do. I could also absolutely believe that the inventory may be incorrect for older sets like that as well potentially, but 30 pieces out seems a little high for most of the inventory inconsistencies I have seen.

I have been going through my old Legos from when I was a kid and cleaning them up so my son can play with them. I came across these two red 2x6 blocks that seem to be magnetic. I also found this small magnet piece in the same box but I'm curious where they came from. I vaguely recall an M-Tron set that had something to do with magnets and the color is right. I looked up the only set I remember having and it has the small magnet but doesn't seem to have any of the large blocks. Any ideas?

The small magnet is definitely part 73092, with some variant of part 2609 on the bottom.  The large ones appear to be 73090b weight bricks.

EDIT: Link to weight bricks on BL. It looks like they came in red in 3 consumer sets, #4011, #6542, and #4021

Assuming of course they’re not 73090a’s.
if you look at the bottom of the brick and it has two open 1x6 rectangles with a single pin in each. they are type a. If the base looks like a standard 2x6 plate, they are type b.

I actually believe they are type b due to the dimple on the end, which does not appear on the type a bricks.  They almost certainly some variant of the 73090 brick either way :)

Not sure this is the right forum for this question.  I have two sealed 75188 resistance bombers.  Both weigh about 1190g, but Bricklink has the weight at 1415g.  Anybody else have this discrepancy for this set?
  • AmbroiseAmbroise Member Posts: 14
There are two variants of 6987 , with different pieces count.
Bricklink's inventory reports the first version. The second version can be tracked down by looking at "alternate items" at the bottom of the inventory (as well as in a dedicated column on the right).

    I re-calibrated my goofy scale and got 1458 g.

In that case you definitely have chrome C-3POs in both of them.

I looked up every set with a 1x 5 technic lift arm in lbg that had a comic looking theme and found it that way. It actually didn't take me more than 5 minutes.

I have a skeleton mini figure torso with small arm pins. I ordered some skeleton arms but they didn't say if they were for big arm pins or small. they were for big. Is there a part number I should be looking for to find skeleton arms that will fit on the small shoulder pins?

I'm finally getting tall these loose figures I have accumulated over many lots. I know some of the figures in the pics may be mixed up so I think the best way would be to identify the torso and I can piece it together from there. Ideally I would like to get the figure number Brickset uses (ie, SW01) if that isn't possible could you tell me the theme and if any are CMF's could you tell me the series. Again I just need the torso identified. I have numbered the fig to make it easy for me and you. Thank you in advance. Thanks.

9 - torso belongs to Saruman (LOTR)

    3- mof001 or 001a

#1 is the torso from Professor Quirrell hp011

#4  is HP Prof. Snape Boggart 973pb0335c01

    #6 is col089 leprechaun

    #14 is sh174 Scarlet Witch

some of the rest are difficult to see and to differentiate colors - you might try better lighting for your pics to help.  Also use goatleg.com as an easy reference to search out various torso combinations... good luck!

A couple of these are either repeats or have already be answered (eg the harry potter ones) so might be worth checking the answers you've already been given.

    2. Is a generic dragon knight from the Kingdoms theme.

    8. Is the cmf vampire torso (series 2) with skater girl legs I think (series 6?)

3, 11 and 12 are viking torsos but were also used with the Fantasy era dwarves (under beards) with short legs.

    5. Is a generic City robber.

    7. Is a star wars scout trooper (endor?)

    13. I think is space police 3 again

And 14. Looks like the top half of Scarlet witch from Marvel.

I think the lighting is a little better in these pics. I dont have a very good camera on my phone. My Lego photography is poor;(. I just want to locate the fig# or theme/name of the figure. Thanks

It's a knock-off by Sheng Yuan. I believe they make a bunch of weird color variants of Ninjago and Nexo Knights characters, like gold, silver, or transparent variants. This site has pics of a whole bunch including Star Wars, Ninjago, and Marvel knock-offs: https://www.herobloks.com/figures/search/tag=Transparent
Unlike some knock-off brands that copy entire sets, SY seems to mostly iterate endlessly on knock-off minifigs and sell them individually, sometimes combining them with some other gimmick like a dinosaur, mech suit, or motorcycle. I guess that's their way of saving money on the number of molds they have to replicate and maximizing their return on investment for each one.
It's sometimes kind of absurd to see, and makes me glad that LEGO tends to stick to uniquely decorated figures in their blind bags instead of random palette-swapped variants that are often bizarrely inaccurate to the actual characters, just to make it harder to "collect them all". It's certainly not unheard of for collectibles even from major brands like Funko Pop, My Little Pony, Littlest Pet Shop, and so on to go completely off the rails by making the same characters available as glow-in-the-dark variants, glitter variants, transparent variants, metallic variants, and so on.

LEGO has done the same thing as other companies with Batman - there are a huge number of variants already, and I imagine many collectors would go crazy over a glow in the dark version.

The thing here is ... you don't have to collect them all. My kid wanted a green Batman, I don't really know why, I don't know if it is some weird variant he has read about or if he just wanted a green one that isn't related to any source material. I was able to get him one for $1 on aliexpress. It is nice that they exist (at least in knock-off form) for those that want them, and those that don't want them don't need to collect them all.

If you open the packs, then it is no harder to collect 20 different Batman variations - even if they are all weird colours and not true to any particular source - than it is to collect 20 different characters from Batman. Of course, one of those ideas might be more interesting than the other for most, but then no doubt there are people that would like a rainbow of Batman suits in every colour LEGO produces.

The sorts of Batman variants LEGO has made over the years aren't so much what I'm talking about… after all, even many of the most absurd or seemingly "unnecessary" of those tend to be genuinely different designs than previous versions, and believable as either updated designs, re-imaginings, or alternate outfits. To put it another way, I can imagine each one having some kind of story behind it.
By contrast, Funko Pop has Batman figures in Chrome Pink, Blue, Green, Red, etc. They don't really have any sort of graphical updates to help contextualize them as costume changes or "powered up" versions or alternate universe versions or anything like that. If anything, like Andy Warhol's mass-produced, multicolored prints, they defy attempts to assign the color choices any symbolic meaning or significance. They are those colors for no other reason than that those are the colors chosen for them.
I suppose I can understand if other people DO enjoy the existence those sorts of character color or material variants, of course — particularly if they are better than I am at creating their OWN meanings by using them as decor, arranging with their friends to each get a different color, or simply choosing which figures to get based on their own personal color preferences rather than any connection between the color and the character.
Even so, it's very much the sort of thing that has kept me from maintaining interest in collecting a lot of non-LEGO toys or collectibles over the years, such as My Little Pony figures. And I think if LEGO were to indulge in that sort of thing I'd hope for them to try and pace themselves to make sure that such characters continue to feel "special" or "premium", instead of letting it get to a point where it begins to feel like color variants for a character are as common as actual new designs for that character.

So I have made alot of progress getting through 100's of these figures without help but I can't find these. I'm pretty sure all of these are Star Wars so I know the theme. If anyone could help me out with the figure # or at least the name they are under in the database. Thank you

  • andheandhe Member Posts: 3,941
    1. Is an Ewok, just search Ewok in the database and it will come up.
    2. Is a Darth Vader head on an Nute Gunray (?) body
    8. Is a Sith trooper - missing it's helmet.

    3. Is Lando Calrissian
    4. Is actually a Pirates of the Caribbean 'zombie'. Again check the database.

    5. Is Christmas Darth maul with the wrong hat.
    6. Is https://brickset.com/minifigs/sw0307
    7. Is a Yoda body, I can't see the head.
    12. Imperial something. Gunner?
    13. Is https://brickset.com/minifigs/sw0379

    And the missing blanks are:

    9 is Thi-Sen
10 is Kithaba from the desert skiff
11 is a resistance officer from Ep VII
    14 is Onaconda Farr

I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel with these figures I have one big bag of what I think is city figures and a couple dozen I have no idea about. These are mostly super heros so I know the theme it would be great if you know the number or the name as it appears in the database. Thanks
  • PJ76ukPJ76uk Member Posts: 974
    1 Manbat
    2 Spiderman
    3 Batman
    4 Batman
    10 Shield Agent

Just search for the name/tag and scroll through until you find the one that matches, ie 10 is SH188 only found in #76036
  • andheandhe Member Posts: 3,941
    8. Is Mutt Williams from Indiana Jones.
    9. Is from the agents theme
    11. Is from the Pharaoh's Quest theme.

    6. Is a Manta Ray warrior from Atlantis theme.
    7. Is from one of the Iron Man sets (Possibly Malibu Mansion - or that might be a Barbie thing...)
    12. Is the series 2 cmf karate guy but wrong legs (ninjago)
    13. Is a Johnny Thunder torso with Indiana Jones head (and probably Mutt's hair - see above).
    14. Looks like War Machine's head on a cmf decorator body.

Generally enjoy doing these, but gotta wonder about the necessity of the Spider-man and Batman ones... ;-)

I've had a few additional sets included with a recent purchase. A friend has identified most of them, but I'm left with these minifigs, partial builds and around 40 or so loose parts. Any ideas if it's an actual set or just a few figures and someones attempt at some Christmas builds? Thanks

Looks like #40059 with an envelope tile and an extra pearl gold 1x1 plate stuck on the section connecting to the decapitated and limbless reindeer.

It looks like a reindeer kebab now.
