I thought the 20 anniversary sets reduced down to £19.99, and getting 4 of them also gets you a free Endor Micro build was good deal.

Only thing that might tempt me is the Yoda build, if I get offered Hoth build (Metrocentre still had some last weekend)
I was also wondering if they might also be throwing in the leftover Hoth sets, but I just called the store and the woman I spoke to said no dice. That would have been a crazy-good pile of freebies.
  • monkeyhangermonkeyhanger Member Posts: 2,939
^ if they still have some and they are meant to be for a £75 SW spend, not sure why they wouldn't/shouldn't. Don't think I'll be partaking in the weekend event. Will keep on saving towards a reasonably priced ISD when JL or Smyths get it and reduce it.

Do we know if the Kylo and Sith Trooped Brickheadz are a Target exclusive? Will they be available direct from Lego stores or [email protected] tomorrow?

I want to take no chances getting that one, so I would stop at Target on the way to the Lego store but would rather get it at Lego so it counts toward my $75 to get the Endor set.

Considering I ordered a set direct on the 4th, in Canada, I believe it should be available everywhere.

My local Lego Brand store had them on the shelf this weekend. Unless they are delaying them in Europe it should be buyable.

@Bumblepants it shows as Dec. 1st as jnscoelho said online at Lego in the UK. I thought they often staggered release dates across different countries ? Haven’t been to Legoland or an LDC recently to see if they have stock there though.

the same thing happened with the mickey mouse brickheadz, I bought them on August 1st at the lego store but they weren't released on [email protected] until 2 or 3 weeks later

I managed to take advantage of the Triple Force Friday and got the three Action Packs (Hoth abd Endor) at sale and with the Battle of Endor (ground one that is), while not an impressive trio of sets they sure are good figure and parts packs.

I bought Kylo Ren's Shuttle. That was all I could afford and it put me over the top for the Endor set. I then went back the next evening for the in-store Luke build. Very happy with how it went. Another Triple Force Friday attendee I met really scored some VIP points: he bought the Falcon, Star Destroyer and several other Lego Star Wars sets.

Had a family member go to their local Lego Store to pick me up the Luke build. It was much appreciated since I live hundreds of miles from a Lego Store. Picked up some of the discounted sets and key chains from the web site. was able to get the GWP Endor set and the free BB-8 as well. Just need to find the Hoth GWP for a decent price and I will be a happy Star Wars/Lego fan!

Myer in Australia already have them on special. Seems to be their usual random school holidays sales so I'll probably pick up the Falcon and Kylos Shuttle tomorrow.

Scored the pasaana speeder (after whinging about the price) for $70 and the 20th Anniversary slave 1 for $145. Thank God for sales! Was thinking about the new falcon but decided to modify my 2015 version

Looking back over this thread (before the ISD announcement) there had been some discussion of the lack of many iconic ships/vehicles in UCS form.  The AT-AT seemed to be on many lists which spurred me to get my “plus-sized AT-AT” by Raskolnikov down for a couple of pics...

Here is a shot next to a an official system scale version...

I remember this being an enjoyable build and at 2500 pieces it didn’t break the bank either - seemed like a good option until Lego decides to release their own version.

Fantastic shots, Kenny, and thanks for sharing!

Is the scale version pictured above, the 75054?

^ I saw a cruiser or two in the Corellian Shipyard on the back. One of them looks like one of the transports that escapes Hoth in the evacuation. You could of course say “Tatooine’s in the background, therefore the next set is definitely a Cantina MBS”

^ Every time I hear Lego cant make a UCS AT-AT this is my reaction, it doesn't have to be as big as a house it just has to be the best AT-AT Lego has ever made.
^^Agreed!  This 'Plus-Size AT-AT' version is the perfect candidate for a LEGO set...and I also find it hard to believe that they'll ultimately give up on the concept.  My guess is they have Designers constantly working on solutions behind the scenes - regardless of what they might leak to outsiders.

I imagine one of the main challenges might be stability over time... unlike a typical flying ship, an AT-AT really deserves to be displayed on its own legs rather than a stand, and Lego often has a tough time balancing articulation with a model supporting its own weight over a long period on display. And a "fixed leg" solution like Voltron might not be satisfactory for an "ultimate" version of the vehicle.

Are the instructions for the Endor GWP available anywhere? My husband spotted it at the LEGO store, and while our total was over $75, that mostly consisted of PAB and Harry Potter, so it was a no-go. Thanks in advance!

I couldn’t find a scan or PDF anywhere just yet but there are several YouTube videos of the build process (which I have used for building SDCC items in the past)... for example:

Ok, so can I ask an odd question. Not that odd, I hope. So, I've been looking at my teeny weeny scale SW vehicles, and I've realised that the only TIE Fighter I have is the FO one: #30276 - I have a lot of different types of TIE, but only 1 Fighter.

Now, I'm not the kind of guy that wants one of everything ever released (which would be a bit of a nightmare for SW) but I do like to have the best example, which for the TIE Fighter, isn't the First Order one (imho). So, I started looking at what's been released and I noticed something odd.

Ignoring the nano fighter you get with #911510 (Micro Star Destroyer and TIE Fighter) there are 5 microscale TIE Fighters that I can find, plus 1 that's upcoming. But, there's a problem with scale. 4 of them use a 2x2 dish for the front viewer ( #3219 #TRUTIE-1 #30276 and #8028 ) and the one we'll get with the next magazine will be as well. However, #30381 uses a 3x3 dish.

What makes this worse is that the size of the 'wings' also vary between models, with their height going from 4 studs (1) to 6 studs (2 - one from from the upcoming mag) and then 8 studs tall (3).

So, which is the most proportionate wing to window ratio? I've looked at official images and it looks like 2 stud windows and 8 stud wings might be the most accurate, but that means my choices are either one from over a decade ago (looks nasty) or a ST one (looks a bit too red). So, any alternate opinions would be most welcome!

I took way too long with this post.

    ^ @MaffyD
I have to say that #30276 is the best looking and best proportioned of the ones you have listed— could you modify that design to match an OT Tie (same proportions, etc), or are you looking for actual released sets only?

I'm happy to mod one - I did that for my micro A-Wing - but I'm wondering about those wheels - they look a little too chunky for a OT TIE... maybe I can replace with a couple of those Technic cylinder thingies - what are they called? I'll have a look at the instructions.

Edit: I'd also have to replace a lot of grey with black, and black with grey by the look of things...

^ That's not fair. I think Solo is a pretty decent sci-fi film. Strip away the Star Wars references and you've got a good heist/action flick with some great set pieces, good dialogue (even the '12 parsec excuse' cringeathon isn't THAT bad) and engaging acting and characterization. It's just not necessary as part of SW canon.

Also, it's not part of the PT, so I can forgive it A LOT. Sorry to all the Jar Jar lovers. That sounds all kinds of wrong, so I'll leave it in. Is his name hyphenated?

I am being a bit snippy.  I didn't like or dislike Solo.  I have written a number of times that it's like watching someone else's vacation videos, or listening to a Beatles Greatest Hits Album.  They touched on just about every reference in the OT, and I think unnecessarily so.  Even if the movie did well, they crammed so much in that there wouldn't have been room for a sequel or 'further' stories related to pre-ANH Solo.

(And it was annoying that the movie was about Hyperdrive gas.  A now common theme in the SW Universe... we're stealing kyber crystals, hyperspace gas and organic Ewok poop.)

not in the trailer and not SPOKEN in The Last Jedi - APPARENTLY it is ‘said’ by BB-8 in droid language during the opening battle (and probably echoing most fans thoughts during said battle).
Though not confirmed it is believed to be a nod by Lucas in EpIV to 2001 where it said by HAL.

The trailer didn't seem to convey any hint at a story. Just a bunch of visuals. The resistance seems to have got very big, very quickly, since the couple of dozen people they were down to at the end of episode 8.

I didn’t mean to look for it, so stopped looking as I didn’t want to spoil the movie..

Actually, I almost totally disagree with you. There are many hints at a story. You even have hints to possible outcomes concerning Kylo and what the title means.
I only agree on the resistance part, it's weird how all those ships came to be in such a short time period, but they'll certainly have an explanation for it.

I knew that, but wasn't gonna go out of my way to see it day one. But you've just prompted me to book tickets. I was a bit sad as my daughter is off school today, so I asked her if she'd like to go and see it after school on the 19th. I got a big fat can of nope.

So instead I'm now gonna see it with my wife on the 19th in IMAX 3D. She's not a star wars fan, but she'll just be happy to see it with someone else. I made her watch The Force Awakens day one by herself straight after I'd watched it with my oldest daughter while my wife looked after our new baby. I just wanted her to see it before she heard that Han died in it.

As an aside, it's going to be a long movie if they're going to essentially remake ESB and RotJ together.  Or, if they're just remaking Return of the King...
