^I've taken advantage the last two years for that event...only to be disappointed I could wait long enough to get the Christmas GWP later in November/December with x2 VIP points as well.

Hopefully history (for the scheduled event) repeats itself!

    Yes. Until the 15th.

They had the most random GWP offers at the Lego Store today. A VIP gift wrap packet with a card, tags, wrapping paper, label decals, and a gift bag, and a bizarre fabric and vinyl... thing. I was mildly underwhelmed.

The bottom is actually solid. The mesh is just re enforcement. It turns out that it's not a half bad little thing, tbh. I've employed it with storing the 'extra bits' bags from assembled multibuild sets. It keeps them accessible, but neatly ordered. Once it's full, it holds it's shape.

I followed the link on the tag to the affiliate company that produced it and discovered that it's constructed with post-consumer plastics, which was a fun fact (given that I was ironically at the Lego Store while the giant march with that Thunberg girl was happening downtown, hahaha).  https://legobags.com/toy-bucket.html

If you're after a collapsible Lego toolbox, it's only a 100$ spend to get it right now. I think the gift wrapping packet was an in store only thing though? I see no mention of it at S@H. :)

That’s what lego used to call their e-commerce site. It’s kind of misleading now seeing as they just use lego.com.

Don't forget your free BB-8 polybag code

I snagged the new Yoda and Red/Trooper BHz sets along with the GWP and the BB8 poly mentioned above.

The next morning, I don't know if I'm as sold on the Yoda set being a great value for $100 (or I guess $90 after the VIP points...). I feel like it's a set (much like BB8 and the Porg) that will be easily found for $60ish in 6 months.

...I hate feeling less than great after a purchase...

I see that Slave 1 20th Anniversary is on sale in other countries but not the US S@H :(

Is the BB-8 set worth it at $60? I've gone back and forth on it as I like the character but all I see when I look at the Lego model is studs.

I enjoyed the BB-8 build and think it looks good for display. The way the head is attached works really well and lets you make him bobble some.

I thoroughly enjoyed the build on it and I think it looks fantastic on display, so an absolute yes in my opinion.

2X VIP event is up from now through the 27th. No current GWP that I see? I'm wondering if I risk holding out for another week will bring about better odds of a GWP?
  • klintonklinton Member Posts: 1,256
I'm an absolute idiot. I knew double points was coming, but totally forgot and bought up the last three sets I needed to finish up the Hidden Side line on Friday. It wasn't a massive spend, but 200$ in VIP points x2 would have been better. I did get to spend the better part of Saturday on this holiday weekend building them all though, which I probably wouldn't have had the time to do next weekend. *grumble, grumble*

Olaf's Traveling Sleigh is still offered.  I'm wondering if something else will come up before the 27th.

For Frozen purchases only. As I hadn't intended on using my spend on Frozen sets, I was hopeful there'd be another one. The Olaf promo is referred to as "this week's promo." So possible there would be one next week?

I read somewhere that they will be doing the Hidden Side Juice bar again on Halloween only. Kinda waiting for that.

It was on the calendar. Worth waiting for, a great little set.

I'm getting rather anxious to submit an order and secure my sets and double VIP points. I was going to hold out until Monday just in case a new promo hit the site.

    Decisions, decisions...

Juice Bar promo is back up. I didn't see a splash page highlighting it, but the threshold appears to be purchases over $75.

Finally decided to pull the trigger on the WV Gingerbread House for the x2 VIP points. I know im going to want the Christmas Tree GWP, but i'm just too impatient. I'll kick myself later.

Thanks for the heads up on the juice bar.  Threshold is actually $50 (even worked with a $49.95 set).

Also, this may not be news to everyone else, but I found out yesterday that ALL of your VIP points "renew" every time you make a purchase. So, instead of unspent points from 17 months ago being at risk of expiring at month 18, every point starts the 18 months over with every new purchase.

This may have been in place with the old VIP system, but I thought it was a great mechanism for holding onto a larger sum of points for someone like me who makes minimal purchases directly from LEGO during any given year.

Just thought I'd add to the general complaints regarding S@H lately. I went to purchase the Gingerbread House for the Juice Bar promo... and, of course, it won't let me change my billing address.

Looks like they ran out of juice bars because it isn’t adding to cart anymore...

Double check on October 31, for sure. They may be withholding an allocation so they can offer them as promised on that date.

The Christmas catalog came and there is a new freebie starting 11/4...

I think these were the poly bags I lucked out on a couple years back at Target when they were discounted to $1 each. It adorns my desk at work along with a few other smaller builds during the holidays. Definitely a fun one!

Juice Bar available again today - I was already going to order when I got the VIP email...
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,476
I made two orders last week when the Juice Bar was live. The promo showed in both carts. Both boxes arrived, and neither had the promo.

A call to CS got things sorted out. They mentioned that the orders last week didn't process on the back end correctly. Go figure...

Anybody hear anything about when the mini Gingerbread house promo is happening? I want to time some purchases so I can get it. I have a feeling it'll be Black Friday weekend. Shouldn't the December store calendar be out now?

-There will be Christmas themed Pick a Brick pieces Nov 11 - Dec 24
-The Christmas Tree ( #40338 ) will be Nov 29 – Dec 2 with purchases of $120 or more

The holiday GWP offers are typically available both online and in store. They seem to often run out quickly online though.

Does anyone know if Lego is doing early VIP for the Christmas tree? In years past they let VIP’s shop early and get the freebie.

So it looks like rumors of early VIP release of the Batmobile are not panning out.  The Brick Fan retracted that tidbit but did mention that the weekend before Black Friday there will be a brick-built 2x4 brick (?) available as a GWP with purchase of $200 or more. There will also be double VIP points and the Christmas Tree promo.

Looks like I’ll be waiting til the 29th to get the Batmobile, it’s GWP, and hopefully the Christmas tree GWP if there are some left...
