I'd like to see England win it

    Thanks for the host

England! (Mainly because most of what I know about rugby is from reading about Christian Wade and Maro Itoje). Now if they can just get past Tonga... :-)

    Thanks for hosting @eanair.

    I googled too.

I'm going to say Scotland and impart to you the Billy Connolly story that pops into my head whenever I hear or see "World Cup Qualifiers" and "Scotland" mentioned together.... (it is talking about the Scottish Football team, so wrong sport but still, it's the words that trigger it. Maybe it will be our year, and our Rugby world ranking is 7th so I guess that doesn't suck! :oP )

< b/g: Billy is talking about doing stand up in front of a celebrity audience...>
"I did it once before. It was in the year that.. Scotland qualified to play in know, Scotland always qualify, you have to think of the year!
I think it was 74 or something they qualif... they were playing in Germany, and the guy who were supposed to make money for them, kind of ripped them off. The Scottish football team, that is. They ended up by being given a sort of a six month loan of a Vauxhall. Jet set stuff, isn't it?! The loan of a Vauxhall for six months.
So, Willy Altman, who was their manager, asked me to go down and entertain the team, and it was hellish. There was just this room full of Dennis Laws and Billy Bremners. I did the whole thing with my eyes shut, it was the best laxative I've ever known!"

I don't expect Scotland to win, hence the qualifying comment, but would I like them to!
    C'mon Scotland!

And of course if they don't, there is always Ireland, England and Wales to cheer on! :o)

I'd don't know anything about rugby, but looking at the teams I think i'd like Fiji to win. It's about time those folks stepped up.

I have no interest in Rugby but if Hermione & Wonder Woman won I'd watch the hell out of that match, even though I knew the outcome.

Bane blew up their home stadium a few years ago and it more or less broke the backs of the Gotham sports teams.

I'd love to see Japan win it. Unlikely but a non favourite would be great.

I am rooting for England but my head says New Zealand based off of how they put South Africa away. A team who have improved massively in the last year.

I would like to see the pacific Islands do well. They are treated appallingly by world rugby.

Gotta be England, although I'm not a follower I do enjoy the banter when we play my welsh nephews beloved Wales!

    Cheers for hosting

I was going to say New Zealand, but that seems a bit obvious--so in honor of the only other thing I know about New Zealand besides the All Blacks, I'll root for Rohan. Or Gondor if Rohan goes out in the first round.

BTW--the rollover mechanism gives the BonusBall an extra level of fun these days!

Any team that will stay thankful that they're being paid to play a sport they love and keep politics out of it. Looking at you, US women's soccer team.

    England, I hope

Being Scottish it's an easy choice, although given the result at the weekend and the fact that I usually support all celtic nations, Ireland or Wales would be good too. Yes, I am one of those Scots who like to see England getting beat! Although, to be fair, the buggers usually win (at least when playing Scotland)!
