Will vignette Seasonal sets make a comeback?

Brickheadz have dominated the seasonal waves for the past two years. Since I’m not a fan of Brickheadz, I’ve been left wanting for the past couple of Halloween’s, Thanksgivings and Christmases. I know Brickheadz have been rumored to be on their way out, but they’ve managed to hang on, much to my chagrin. Will vignettes ever comeback?

I came out of my DA in about 2016, so I missed out on many past sets.

    I have no official information, but I expect there'll be more vignettes; people are really fond of them and they must have sold well for years, for TLG to alternate them with the chunkier seasonal figures.

    Less Brickheadz, and more of anything – including Holiday vignettes – is always a good thing in my opinion, as well 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Maybe he meant he was more in favor of the half-sized builds that came out in later waves, instead of the ones based on the full sized BHz base? :P

    Ah, but as discussed a while ago, the singular of Brickheadz is still Brickheadz; therefore, he could be suggesting that he desires less of a particular Brickheadz rather than the entire theme.

    Gotta love the Lesser and Fewer definitions...

    Less Brickheadz would be a brickhead(z) without an arm or leg while fewer would be smaller numbers of them released...

    Thank you so much, @Huw, for the unnecessary grammar troll.  And now, back to regularly scheduled programming...

    I am referring to the Brickheadz platform, in general.  I don't want fewer Brickheadz -- I am advocating for no Brickheadz, as is @bpk2300.

    I guess if you don't like them then you view them not as individual sets but a single uncountable noun, like a bucketful of crap.

    I’ll be definitive: I would prefer that there were NO Brickheadz (seasonal), and instead there be ONLY vignettes for holiday/seasonal sets. 😬

    I’ve yet to buy a Brickheadz. I almost bought lasts year’s Witch when it went on sale, but that’s neither here nor there 😶

    I really like Brickheadz. I think they're fun. The structure of the builds is nearly identical for every one, but the designers do a great job of making the end result represent the subject really well. It has worked well for a lot of different characters. Some of the details are very clever and make them fun to build and display. I will buy nearly every new Brickheadz that comes out because I'm a soft completionist--I have only 1 superhero set (Rocket and Groot) and no desire for any of the others. I really enjoy them all.

    That said... I'd love something different too! Some season vignettes would be nice too. Variety is good, IMO.

    I also got a bit bored with the vignettes, so it was nice to see a change. But then once the BH have been around for a while, they get a bit boring and so time for another change next year ...?

    How about vignettes with Brickheadz - that should satisfy everyone... or no-one.

    The seasonal BH are vignettes... they all have little scenery bits.

    We already know there are seasonal BH coming out this year. I would doubt, outside a GWP, that a vignette would be released this year. 

    Someone just needs to make an alternative vignette build from the existing seasonal BH sets. Problem solved!

    Judging that the Bumblebee Brickheadz is the current give-away at S@H, I don't have any doubt that the 2019/2020 seasonal sets will be a triumphant return to minifigure vignettes.

    And there will probably be clown or scarecrow Brickheadz giveaways at some stage too!

    They are funny sets. I enjoy Go Brick Me, but aside from that I don't have many. They are priced 2x too high for what they are so it is not surprising there are so many left over, even during sales.

    They're also high-volume, high-margin sets, so it doesn't surprise me that there gobs of these floating around.

    I will say that I like many aspects of them. Low price, interesting themes that are wide ranging and neat building techniques. 

    There’s just something about them that turns me off, though. Maybe it’s the eyes. Or the fact that they are pandering to all of the other numbered, collectible junk toy trends. It doesn’t feel like traditional LEGO to me. Rather, it clashes with the rest of the LEGO I collect. That’s probably fine for most folks, but I guess it’s not for me.  🤷‍♂️

    @bpk2300: please define "traditional LEGO". Perhaps just a pile of 2x2 and 4x4 bricks and a 32x32 green baseplate? Star Wars? Friends? Elves? NINJAGO? Or is it Homemaker? Castle? Classic Space? 
    Or maybe... Is it assembling something with a bunch of bricks that ends up resembling something that you know and/or that portraits a new thing entirely? Because if it's this, BrickHeadz do seem like "traditional LEGO" to me.

    I would say 'traditional' LEGO is a bucket/freestyle pack.  Use your imagination!

    I was not trying to define “traditional LEGO” for everyone. I said Brickeheadz don’t feel traditional to me. I’m sure my feelings of nostalgia and what appeals to me differs than many other folks.

    Of course. But I'm curious to know what feels traditional to you, since it was your sentence. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that.

    Although some are numbered it is easy to build and display them without the number.

    Well, typically, LEGO appears to do a Minifig seasonal vignette set line every other year, so it will be interesting to see what occurs for 2020

    ^^^ Maybe a better way for me to describe it is that Brickheadz feel “untraditional” to me because it feels like LEGO trying to be something it isn’t. When I see a Brickheadz, I don’t think “LEGO.” Am I wrong in believing that they were created as a reaction to Funko Pop popularity, rather than an original TLG idea/theme? 

    I’m not mad they exist. Like I stated above, I think the build techniques are great and I like how they include many themes. What I DONT like is the fact that the seem to have supplanted the seasonal vignettes sets, hence the reason for this thread. I say that because this is the second consecutive year of only Brickheadz for seasonal. 

    Again, these views are mine and mine alone 😬

    I know what you mean; it does feel like they're chasing the Funko Pop trend, though I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing. I suspect they represent a fun challenge for MOCers, by creating such a specific aesthetic to try and recreate any character in. I didn't think they were for me, but then I saw the scarecrow and I'm kind of tempted...

    See, this is way I asked. I agree with you in that they they were a reaction to Funko Pop. However, many of the licensed themes are a reaction to some other toy brand as well. LEGO wasn't original in having Star Wars toys. And if it's the playability, a BHs is as playable as a MilF or many other sets just made for display. So, while I do understand your view, I just don't agree with it :) But thanks for replying.
    And btw, I do like BrickHeadz very much. Still, I don't collect them all, just the ones I want. Go Brick Me was awesome and I don't understand why it was for sale for such a short period, it's perfect for family building. The seasonal ones are those I like the least, so I too would prefer a return to seasonal vignettes (however, to be fair we did have a Christmas one last year, the #40292 Christmas Gift box).

    After all, much of City is just a reaction to similar police and fire playsets from other companies, Winter Village sets are just created as a reaction to similar Christmas decorations, and so on.

    To me, BH were inspired by CubeDudes, which of course might have been inspired by Funko or other large headed figures. CubeDudes were popular a decade ago and LEGO knew this, but of course LEGO could never sell them as they were not their invention.

    Just for the record, I love both the vignettes and the Brickheadz for seasonal stuff.

    Brickheadz provide a unifying theme that I can put everything together under: My SW and Marvel BHz rub shoulders with Santa & Mrs Claus at Christmas, and they all have a great time together on one shelf. It'll be even more fun when we get some reindeer in on the action!

    At the same time, I love setting up all my other Christmas sets around the lounge to give the room some seasonal colour. From Snowglobe to GB house, from Carousel to Christmas Train, there's something anywhere you look.

    I love Christmas. Now I'm impatient for the Secret Santa to start again! And it's only September...

    Brickheadz are clearly a reaction to the Funko market - as you noted above.  I have those few SW Cubedudes and they're an anomaly.

    I wonder how many Funko collectors have bought Brickheadz and how many Brickheadz collectors have Funkos.

    Personally, I have absolutely zero Funkos, yet I have BH of me and family (from go brick me), plus a Vader and a MOC of Luke.

    I have no interest in Funkos. I have about 20 Brickheadz. And that's me exercising quite a lot of restraint (as I know what will happen otherwise).

    I'll be honest, I've never been a fan of Funkos, and I had never bought any... until I had some BrickHeadz.  Now I have a few of the better (imo) Funkos, and I'll probably get more in the future, but luckily the BHz line has scratched my completionist bug and I don't feel like I'll ever need to get all the Funkos just to have a complete collection.

    I live about 5 minutes from the Funko headquarters. Walking into their store is like stepping into Disneyland. The mountains of figures I see people buy at once makes me feel better about myself. 

    I'm so far managed to not get sucked into that void

    I've considered a few times picking up a few of the Lord of the Rings Funko Pops... but I've yet to pull the trigger yet on any of them.
    To me though... I'd really want them out of the box, which seems completely against the Funko ideal.

    Side note... how awesome would Lord of the Rings Brickheadz be???

    I didn’t mean to start a Funko pop convo! I only have one, Appa from ATLA. It’s out of the box. 

    And now I own one Brickheadz, the Bee from the recent promo. I’ll be selling it.

    ^as much as I love LOTR, I’d even resist the Brickheadz version of those.

    Back on topic. I’m really hoping this year’s Xmas promo set is “vignette-ish” like last years Christmas Gift Box #40292.

    The same can be said for many of LEGO themes. If you don't like them, then you will often see them in a negative light (always on shelves, always reduced in price, etc) and assume that resource could have been better used in a better theme that you like.

    There's still a CHIMA Mammoth Stronghold #70226 sitting on the shelf at Toys 'R' Us.  Clearance price $62.99.
