There is also a newer Carnage from this year in #76113.  The cheapest Venom for a long time was the one from the Juniors set #10665 which is the one I have.  Now the one from #76115 is cheaper ($7-8 on BrickLink I believe) — not sure which I like better but they are pretty similar.  @hardwellz If your son likes superhero minifigs sometimes you can get an eBay lot that has quite a few for a reasonable price.

^ oops not sure how I missed the new set with carnage!  But funny how sometimes those juniors sets escape notice too,

Picked up some of the series 19 Collectable Minifigures. Didn't know they were on shelves yet.
Also grabbed some more nice organisers from Homebase. Can't work out what category of parts to put in them though. Might do a box just for plant pieces.

@judgeguy where did you find the minifigs, if you don't mind me asking?

Got a couple of sets to try to round out the last of my Ideas collection.  Super happy to have these two sets.  Still debating if it's worth it to get the Big Bang Theory set to complete the Ideas collection, even though I detest the show...

You should give up.  Ideas is silly, and TBBT is silly. And in a completely unrelated thought, I'd be happy to take those sets off your hands.

Went to the Brighton store today and they had a fantastic line up on the Pick a Brick wall. Finally got some masonry bricks. Can you guess how many are in this tub? (I’ve counted them)

Why doesn’t my local store ever have these kind of options?  I’ll keep my fingers crossed that these will show up worldwide soon...
I will guess 432 bricks— what do I win if I’m closest?  :-)

Went to an old USAF base near Newbury today...

You didn’t have any paranormal troubles in Newbury, I hope ... perhaps you visited #70425 while you were there?  :-)

The highlight is the 180k brick St Pancras station...

Looks amazing- did they have the Eurostar train to Paris ready to head out?

    @speedman29

Brick City is Warren Elsmore's (he's on the forum) exhibition as far as I know. We've been to it and there was no sign prohibiting photos when we went to it in Paisley Museum. It was a few years ago but I don't recall it being that expensive. Maybe the base were taking a bigger fee per person to oversee the models or taking a novel approach to preventing any damage to them? Doesn't seem like you had the same experience at any rate. If it was reasonably quiet and you had unfettered access to the models I could see it taking 20 minutes. I think it took us about 40-45 minutes: we took A LOT of photos and really took our time. We really enjoyed it.

Plus, at the time, there wasn't anything like it to be seen in Scotland. Anything like it was also Warren's exhibition. We've seen 2 at Paisley Museum. I forget what the other was called at the moment, Brick Wonders possibly.

@Lego_Star we were the only ones in there until the last few minutes when another family came in. We had a really good look at all the models. As you say, normally I'd be taking loads of photos of the full model and the little details to maybe use in the future, but with the prominent sign as you went in I only felt I could sneak a few shots.

There was one bloke by the door who gave us a kids pack with a few quiz sheets in to spot various minifigures and some questions to answer.

I'm not knocking Warren, he's a very talented man, but the site wasn't the best experience.
  • Lego_StarLego_Star Member Posts: 2,144
I didn't think you were knocking Warren, @speedman29 not in the slightest, as you said lots of amazing details. He and Kitty are lovely, very talented people. It was very quiet when we were at the exhibition too, we purposely went when it would be quieter.

I know things tend to increase in price but it does seem a lot more expensive than we went. £3 each seems to ring a bell. And I don't really understand not being able to take photos, particularly as you say many of the exhibits are safely under perspex/glass cases. I can totally understand your disappointment at not being allowed to take any. St. Pancras model has been well and truly photographed at multiple events too such as Steam and Brick to mention a couple I have personally seen it at besides Brick City.

When I say Warren's exhibition as far as I know I wonder if it's possible he's sold it, and all the models in it to someone else? I have no idea how much storage for something like the St. Pancras model alone takes up but I should imagine with all the different exhibits he has done in the last say, even 5 years, they must need a whopping amount of storage space if they aren't all being exhibited somewhere at the same time.

We saw Brick City in Bury St Edmunds a couple of years back, and it was just included in the overall entry price of the museum hosting. Took lots of pictures. Also saw Brick Wonders in Norwich last year, no entry cost at all there and again plenty of pics. Although that one was in a very dimly lit space, so harder to get good shots.

@Basty 470 is my guess as I filled 475 New Dark Red ones in a PaB cup the last time I bought PaBs and mine was hard to seal (Lego store employee actually taped the lid on as he saw me about to take out bricks when it wouldn't fit, he had been watching me amused as I took almost their entire stock of profile bricks).

@PJ76uk and @Basty, you should both ask @GoldJono for tips on how to maximize your pab cup fills.

He builds the bricks together to get more in. I'm sure he's filled up with profile bricks before, but I can't recall the total. He's probably got a picture somewhere....?

At the time is was in a hurry as trying to do this whilst supervising two little ones running riot in the Disney Springs Lego store so just grabbed what I could. Normally I fill much better and include smaller pieces to fill the gaps (have hundreds of flower etc pieces lying around!)

The lady in the Lego shop had to get a ladder to reach the bin, plus I didn’t have time to stack them to maximise cup usage. Currently @PJ76uk is very very close.

And I missed out my winking smiley from my previous post. 😉 ^^ Better to scoop and go, than to not go home with profile bricks at all! ;o)

Still staring at the box for Steamboat Willie my brother bought for me when he visited town and wondering where I'll fit the build on my shelves. I loathe being a collector with limited display options. I've got more Tupperware bins full of LEGO than shelves. And if I try to sell off some of it I'm just going to be struggling hard to find any buyers, so I guess it's time to start disassembling the stored sets to see if I can fit more in less buckets to make more room.

P*ssed since i read on german lego sites that S@H ships via DPD now instead of DHL. DPD doesn't have a convenient dropoff point and less rerouting possibilities than DHL. DHL got a very convenient one on my way back from work which doesn't waste much time

I thought friction balls https://brickset.com/parts/4286267/fric-element-ball-ø-10-2 had huge friction, but found out that if I dismantled the model, and changed their initial rotation, I could make it more smooth. turning them 180° in some of voltron's lions' legs.
  • SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,237

Can someone explain the difference between BnP and Pick a Brick Online? Seems like to search BnP you need a set number or element ID (i.e. you can't just browse everything available)
