Wife: What are all these boxes all over the floor? Do they really need to be there, can't they go in the loft out of the way?
Me: LEGO. I'm sorting some stuff. If they go in the loft they'll never get sorted."
Wife: F*@king LEGO! They've been there for weeks and I'm sick of them. There's crap everywhere.
Me: I've been busy.
Wife: Really? You were playing on the PC the other night. Can't you put them in the bottom of the wardrobe or somewhere out of the way?
Me: Where? You complained the other day that there was no room in the wardrobe because of all the LEGO that was in there.
Wife: Move the sealed boxes from the wardrobe into the loft with the others? That'll make space, plus you're not getting to build anything else until all those boxes are sorted.
(While this seems like a sensible idea, and she does know there are some boxes in the loft, she really doesn't have a clue exactly how many. There are also a lot of sets in the wardrobe; a lot more than there appears to be at first glance. This could get messy!)
Me: Suppose I could. I'll do it another night though, I've had a long day and I'm pretty tired.
Wife: We can just do it now. There's a couple of bits I need put up there too, and I'll pass the LEGO up to you. Won't take long.
Me: (oh crap!) It's fine, I haven't decided what I'm putting up there yet and I'm really not in the mood to sort it out now. I'll put your stuff up there in a minute though.
Wife: (sigh, roll eyes etc) Whatever..
(I quickly emptied the wardrobe of LEGO and stacked all the loose stuff (neatly) in the bottom of the wardrobe. The pile of sealed sets was a lot bigger than even I'd thought it would be! Thankfully I got it all in the loft before she saw it; just hoping she never needs to go up there any time soon as it looks a bit like a (small) toy shop stockroom now! Think I might need to curb the spending a little though, as seeing it all in one place was a bit of a shock)
Me: Done. Had a quick look in the wardrobe before I went into the loft and there wasn't as much as I thought so just put it up when I did the other bits. Got all those boxes off the floor too; room looks a lot tidier now.
Wife: (sigh, roll eyes etc) Whatever..
I'd definitely be interested in seeing your progress!
I have the added fun of event stock and equipement. Down side is there is a lot more to store, up side is that i have excuses for boxes of sets being around. Lets not start on what i have stored at other afols houses.
Then it was straight on to sunny Whitstable with its delightful views over the Thames Estuary, and the Isle of Sheppey clearly visible in the distance (if you use your imagination and squint a bit).
Starting on the Tree House today - excellent price per part ratio and all that foliage!
where was that, I’m actually headed to north Wales for holiday next week.
BrickLink order arrived and I’m finally able to complete my Ninjago Stone Armor group... been waiting quite a while to assemble these guys!
Aces, I'm actually going to be staying just outside Rhyl so will check it out. Thanks for that.
but still quite a bit to go...
And Bigfoot. Bigfoot fought the Zombies.
He may still be slightly on the younger side to fully track with and understand what's going on, but he (and I) loved every minute of it!
My favorite moment from our movie time was immediately following the scene where Luke returns to his Uncle and Aunt's house on Tatoonie and you see their charred skeletal remains outside. My son looked at me with really big eyes and asked, as serious as could be, "Where's all their meat?"
I just about died laughing. Something about it just caught me as so funny.
He is now pumped for Episode V. Me too :)
It's true. I read it on the internet.
I have little experience with Technic sets but I got a #42006 in a lot I bought. I have an issue. The instructions show the (tan) connector sliding completely into the driving ring (red), then the gear (dk grey) slides onto the driving ring. The problem is the gear forces the connector out causing the gear to not turn when assembled. Am I missing some technique?
DId you face face the dark grey gears the right way? (See also step 18). If that isn’t the issue then I don’t know— perhaps a resident Technic expert will have some ideas...
He build bag 11, virtually without my help... Proud dad!
now, how do I explain it being finished tomorrowmorning? ;)
extra pieces so far...
EMBRACE YOUR SMUDGE!!! :-)
@KungFuKenny; didn’t manage to finish it, some physical discomfort stopped me building (shoulderaches... :(), but i agree it’s a great build. Have some questionmarks regarding playability (e.g. the railings are prone to fall off), but it’s a very good set!
Need to to finish up the treehouse and a couple of MOCs though, so for now it goes in the “to build” queue
How this relates to Lego is being woken up at 1:30am from a deep slumber by a loud crashing sound & being pushed out of the bedroom by my ever loving wife to find out what disaster had befallen us only to find out that the utterly rubbish sticky pads on the back of #853913 gave up the fight with gravity and had relieved itself of its duty to be a wall hung key holder and had instead become a lying in amongst the crockery on the side key holder.
To be fair to the Lego quality control, the set stayed in one piece so nothing wrong with the bricks. I just didn't take into account that when it says 'key holder' on the box it literally meant one key.
