  I think there is a higher likelihood of Disney purchasing LEGO to ensure the Star Wars theme exists in perpetuity.

  You can always stop buying it. Recently I've been thinking long and hard about getting rid of all my LEGO Star Wars sets. I own over 500 of them, and it was the theme that got me out of my semi dark age. Since Disney took over Star Wars, and destroyed it in my opinion I've lost my desire to buy them. It may be I'm burning out on LEGO in general, but they were the first sets I thought about getting rid of.

  Just don't buy stuff you don't like. Forcing yourself to buy everything even if you aren't excited about it is the quickest way to burning out on the hobby completely.

  Disney will continue to bring out new movies and shows and as long as Disney don't get too greedy about selling the rights Lego Star Wars will go on for many years to come. I buy the sets that look good even though I'm not a fan of the new movies. Kylo Rens TIE Fighter is one of my favorite sets.
  

  Of course we will have the same kind of sets being repeated and I think we will see alot more original trilogy sets in the coming years as that seems to be the only Star Wars products that sell.

  Remember there are always new generations of kids to see these movies. So it makes sense to bring out sets like Lukes Landspeeder every few years.

  That's exactly where you have to go with any collection. OP is burning out because he's trying to collect everything. It's a fruitless pursuit, that. You will literally never be contented, and the thing that once brought you so much joy just becomes a tedious, ritualistic slog of acquisition and cataloging. You stop enjoying each purchase for what it is, and just see another notch in your belt.
  
  When a hobby becomes an obligation, you're doing it all wrong. Step back and look at the elements that you genuinely enjoy, and focus on those. You really won't ever regret not getting that UCS set with the exclusive Stormtrooper variant, despite the hoarder in the back of your mind insisting otherwise.

  I just read the new search article on Rebrickable and thought these stats they posted for their site match @SumoLego sentiments.

  From Rebrickable (search results for past week):

  I think the only year I bought 100% of the generally available retail sets and retailer exclusives was 2008 because as a Prequel fan a lot of the Clone Wars sets were fantastic. But pretty much every other year I only buy sets that I actually like and look good, except sometimes a couple of more rubbish ones on sale for minifigs. I do aim to get every Star Wars fig (except maybe gold C-3PO/ platinum R2-D2/George Lucas) but that's easier to handle overall, space and money-wise, and I can do it over time. Some figs even appear in cheaper sets after initially appearing in something really expensive.
