Got myself #31095 during our holiday; now gotta find time to build it and start building my city during the last week of my time off...

My family went on vacation to Kansas City, Missouri. Stopped at the Lego Discovery Center. We've been there before, but we just stopped in the gift shop. I picked up #40145 Lego Store Grand Opening for $24. I also picked up #60230 City Space People Pack and 2 of the #40220-1 London Bus.  I forgot they don't give you reward points, so I stuck with just those purchases.

Stopped at Oak Park Mall. Since double VIP points were still going, I picked up #75244 Tantive IV.

When we got home, my son who is just now getting into Lego, wanted to go to our local Lego store to pick something out. He loves double decker buses, and he enjoyed building the small London Bus, so he picked #75957-1 The Knight Bus from Harry Potter. He has a hard time building because his hands don't work the way he'd like them to, so I helped him. Once built, he loved it. I went to go talk to my wife and heard a loud crash. Yep, the bus was in pieces. He was very upset. So, I quickly rebuilt what was destroyed and he was happy again.

For my other son, I picked up #70841-1 Benny's Space Squad. For myself, I picked up #60226 Mars Research Shuttle, and #76118 Mr. Freeze Batcycle Battle, which I was surprised to see on the shelves, since I thought it wasn't coming out until August. It was the only 80th Anniversary Batman set in the store.

Going to be a busy few days around our house.

A WalMart near me (can't remember which) had a cardboard kiosk thing in the middle of the wide aisle next to Toys. It had #76118, #41376, #75945, #75934, #21153, and #70672 for $19.97 each. It was printed with something like, "Exclusive early releases!". The LEGO store had all of them. I believe these are the $20ish sets from all the waves that are due August 1st.

Just picked up a used, but complete #41066 Anna and Kristoff's Sleigh Adventure. The price was right and I already have a place for it in my winter village.

Now, I just need to mod the Oaken's Trading Post to be a full building!

Got the Shrimp Shack Attack, the small Ninjago set with the wolf and a CMF to also get a free Hidden Side Juice Bar and Brickheadz Bee. Probably could've waited for a good sale on the Shrimp Shack but I really wanted the Juice bar and the overlapping promos is always difficult to resist.

Managed to fit in a quick lunchtime trip to Metrocentre to pick up #21319 Central Perk due to it being back ordered on S@H, and it was flying off the shelves in the store too. Also picked up #75964 HP Advent Calendar (as a change from my usual City one) cos it's time to start thinking about Xmas now isn't it! Was thinking I could do with an extra Jungle Explorer CMF (and chameleon) and he was literally the first one I picked out of the bin so got him as well. #40336 Newbury Juice Bar freebie duly received and also #30545 fishy polybag.

Shop was absolutely rammed - presumably back to school LEGO is now a thing.

^ Metrocentre shop was packed yesterday also when I was filling a PAB cup with no rattle room (assembling stacks of pieces and filling the void with tiny pieces) while the kids played with the Duplo parts bin and pestered Sophie who works there. They sold about 10 Friends sets in the 30 mins we were there.

Been looking for #40299 as it's the only SW minifigure on a base haven't got. Found one on eBay for £7 which seems about average. Had an eBay voucher for £5 off £10 spend so added another polybag from the sellers store to take it to the minimum spend and as I clicked into PayPal to pay I got a £5 voucher from PP for some reason. Free Lego FTW.

I’m sure Lego stores have these in stock. I saw on the in Köln store last week.

Our Lego store sold out 80 Friends sets by 3PM yesterday, and they opened late @11AM since it was Sunday.  We were there to get the new mini-figs.  It took us over an hour to feel out a complete set.  Don't know if the double bags made it more difficult, or the hectic atmosphere in the store made concentrating difficult.  We went back this morning for the Hidden Side Promo, and get some bricks off the wall.  I have been using my old VIP card to hold a few extra bricks in the stud on the lid.  I slide it out as I close the lid.  😄

Picked up some of the new minifigures last Sunday (2x Rainbow Bear, 1x Shower Guy, and 1x Dog Trainer Girl). Someone had apparently gone to both stores near me and wiped them out of Fox Girls and Monkey Kings as soon as the stores opened. Even the Rainbow Bears were gone entirely from one store, but I managed to snag a couple from the other.

The hunt for Fox Girl continues...

SW bargains seem to be a thing at the moment with several local retailers throwing various sets on "clearance", recently scored #75241 from Kmart for $49, a day later I grabbed #75243 for $99 & a couple of #75238 for $25 each at Big W, & today I picked up a second #75220 from Target for my MOC parts supplies for $79.

Gotta love stacked promos!  & looking forward to trying an expert vehicle model.   I haven’t done one yet, even if the mustang is still on my wanted list.  I admit the bee wasn’t on my wanted list, but never turn down a free set.  It’ll only be the 2nd brickheads I’ve ever done.

I really do like that Duplo patent print.  I've been considering getting it since I first saw it, I feel like it would make for a wonderful piece of wall art.  And if I'm being honest with myself, I don't have a ton of other things to use my points on at this... point.

Is the circular mark some sort of embossed seal on the bottom left of the print, or damage in transit?
  • ersiersi Member Posts: 229
It is seal not damaged, it is even numbered

It's a print of the original Japanse patent filing for the basic Duplo brick to obtain the patent in Japan.

    I think only the 2

However #10223 had a variant which sort of counts:

    @Pumpkin_3CK5

Neat little set though! Was that sealed?  It’s always a difficult decision for me when I find a sealed vintage set— keep it mint or re-live childhood and build away...

The correct decision is always 'open and enjoy'. I will never, ever understand the drive to keep things MIB for all eternity. The reality of opening it and enjoying it is infinitely more satisfying than the perpetual 'possibility' thereof that seems to drive the hardcore collector set.

@Bumblepants Those three that @KungFuKenny posted, plus this one from Nexo Knights. Technically not a shield, but part of a shield?

@KungFuKenny Yeah it was sealed but I open them anyways haha.

Ordered #10266 Lunar Lander and it arrived last night... if anyone was wondering what the GWP lunch box looks like, here you go...

A little small for my lunch but it can hold 1200 2x2 tiles -- no, I didn't count- they are from a BL order :-)

Bit of a random selection of purchases today.

On hols in Lincolnshire; found a toy shop at Spalding outlet centre selling current sets at 10% off so picked up #70671 (mainly for the wolf) and #70418 (just because), then found #75951 for 40% off at department store in Boston, which seemed like a decent discount. Lost interest in Nexo Knights after (during) season 1 but got the comic as it’s the last one. 3 x S19 dog walkers as I’m building a pack of sausage dogs for yet unknown reasons, plus a TLM2 scarecrow to go with spare Dorothy (bought for Toto) and Lion (so now need another Tin Man too). Mixed bag but keeps me happy!

I've been itching to snag a few sets from S@H recently, but am trying to wait until a x2 VIP event or worthwhile GWP.

So, to help scratch the itch, I made a BL order last night. Bought parts to build a couple display stands for my #75105 Millennium Falcon and #75102 Poe's X-Wing. Nothing too fancy, but something I've wanted to do for awhile to show them off a little better on my display shelves.
