@Basty : As i have said before, our tastes are scarily similar. I managed to limit myself to #31097 + PaB and BnP, will get the others (plus the Donut shop set) later.

I don't know why, but Myer (a fairly significant Lego retailer down here) has a bunch of large, retired sets on their eBay store for unfairly low prices. They also have a store-wide 20% off sale. I'm looking at Horizon Express for A$90 and Sopwith Camel for A$70. Perhaps some employee came across an old shipment of them and decided to put them online? For those Aussies that are interested, other notable listings are for the 2013 Republic Gunship, 2014 AT-AT, most Rogue One sets, a couple of Scooby-Doo sets, the Winter Village Cottage and the Pet Shop. All for a fair bit less than their original retail price, all applicable to the discount, and all retired.

I’d love a Sopwith Camel for $70 US, let alone AUS!!! New those are going for double that on Bricklink. Too bad shipping it to the US would probably eat away the whole difference.
  • Baby_YodaBaby_Yoda Member Posts: 1,295
Oh, and I missed this earlier, but 7965 Millennium Falcon for A$136. When I bought it a few years ago I couldn't find it for less that $250.
  • PolyphemusPolyphemus Member Posts: 95
I spotted those too. But did you also notice that there's no 'Buy now' or 'Place bid' button? They're impossible to buy! I suspect it's some sort of glitch that’s showing old listings from way back.

should be getting my first harry potter set (besides CMFs) soon, from S@H, the hogwarts express. it will be my 2nd train set, as much as you can consider twisted time train as a proper train set.

You're right! And I was just about to go get the Sopwith Camel, too. Funny I hadn't noticed that before. I really should have checked, given the too-good-to-be-true nature of these listings.
Looks like I'll be keeping my money, unfortunately.

Just bought all the Minifigure Packs that we didn't have that are currently available on S@H (Spider-Man Museum Heist, the Ninjago one with Clutch Powers & the City Space one), as it seems these are unlikely to get wider release here. Still annoyed that the one for TLM2 with the sewer babies has been made an exclusive for our local Certified Lego Stores, considering the closest Certified Lego store is an eight hour trip each way (I pity the AFOLs in Perth, it's more like a 36 hour drive, non stop, so 72 hours there & back).

Yeah, I was gonna pull the trigger on the Horizon Express, but then... "Ah, dammit!"
    So annoying!

Just got #75106 for 65 dollars. Now completes all of the SW sets I wanted from 2015, which is the UCS/regular sets (not including polybags or mini sets).

I was looking to downsize our want list for TLM2 sets, then Kmart went & threw several sets on decent clearance prices, so now #70822 Unikitty's Sweetest Friends, #70830 Sweet Mayhem's Starship, #70834 MetalBeard's Trike, #70836 Batman & MetalBeard, plus #70842 Emmet's Triple-Decker Mecha Couch have been added to our collection....dammit!

Really digging the Overwatch theme even though I know nothing about the game. The characters/minifigs look cool, D.Va in particular. Got Dorado Showdown for $13 at a local Walmart.

If you haven't already, you should check out some of the animated shorts on YouTube! I've never played the game and honestly doubt I'd enjoy it (I've never had good enough reflexes for that type of competitive team-based shooter), but I've loved watching the animated shorts, as well as learning more about the characters and lore from other folks online.
Here's the main animated short that D.Va stars in:
Here's one starring Soldier 76, in the same setting that the Dorado Showdown set is based on:
And here's a playlist of all the animated shorts:
If Overwatch ever gets adapted into, say, a full animated series or movie, then I might actually feel comfortable calling myself an Overwatch fan (something that currently doesn't feel very sincere, since to most people that would suggest I'm a fan of the game rather than the supporting media).

Thanks Aanchir. Plan on watching more of those shorts to get the back story when I get time. Had only watched a couple for Winston and Bastion so far, and now the D.Va video in your post. Need to make a Bastion that is somewhat in scale with the rest of the theme. Why they make the Blizzcon Bastion orange?
  • Baby_YodaBaby_Yoda Member Posts: 1,295
^ The Blizzcon Bastion was supposed to represent an alternate skin for the character, I believe. Lego often release interesting and niche variants of well-known characters for con exclusives.

Found all 5 marvel endgame sets for 265€, if I would buy them from lego shop it would cost me 325€. Do you think there is a chance for bigger discount later on endgame sets?

@ersi Marvel sets frequently get 40% discounts. The Endgame sets are already 20-30% discounted on Amazon DE, for a total of EUR 240 for the 5 sets.
Looks like Amazon doesn't seem ship for free to Slovakia, but even when adding P&P seems to be cheaper than your local price (or at least matches it).

Make sure you know all your retailers and their discounts, including those in other countries that ship to you.
If there's a price alert website available for your country, use it. Brickset can help you with the Amazon discounts. And by using the links on the main page, you support the operation of Brickset and this forum.

Only TRU would have a set almost a year past it’s sell by date still on the shelves at MSRP (and it wasn’t the only one, though at least others had clearance tags). Of course because this is a what are you buying right now thread, yeah I bought it.  It doesn’t meet any of my criteria of having buildings/vehicles I can add to my city layout, but it’s Thor.  And well Fenrir should be a cool build.  But between this kind of inventory management, and the wire lock things they ruin the boxes of expensive sets with, no wonder they went bankrupt everywhere else.

I actually like that TRU has stuff on the shelves long after it's been discontinued. I was able to buy up most of the Superhero Girls sets there well after the theme was discontinued and clearanced out everywhere else, when I decided that I actually did want them after all.

And look, you got the best Thor minifig Lego has ever made, two years after it debuted! That's actually a great set, in a theme when the builds tend to range from utter rubbish to mediocrity. The plane was a fun, unique build. The minifigs are all fantastic (I love that they gave Hela alternate looks). It's one of the very few Superheroes sets that I have zero complaints with.

Agreed 100%!  It’s always nice to walk in & find something that you thought was long gone.  I’m very happy with my find and very happy that they do this.  It doesn’t seem good business sense to me if they’re not putting through the volume, but hey, yeah it did result in a great find!  & this was the ‘normal’ TRU not far from my house, not the one in the outlet mall, which can usually be counted on to have interesting sets small though large that are long gone anywhere else.

I don’t actually have a lot of experience with the Marvel theme but for a couple small sets, but it was really #76108 that got me to take another look at it.  It must be mediocre builds though which makes the theme oddly easy to find on Kijiji as well for the stuff that’s truly discontinued.  Heck city police sets for a good price show up less often than marvel!

That Thor set is a fave of mine as well. Love the ship, the wolf and the minifigs.

I've posted elsewhere about my own recent purchases - needless to say, my wife has been very spontaneous for Father's Day. Got the rocket ride, the patch, the satellite polybag (twice) and a load of Lego... now to start building some!
  • M1J0EM1J0E Member Posts: 644
Nice haul!  Looking forward to the rocket ride as well.  Yesterday’s purchases also included the flintstones set, as I promised to give my wife the rocket ride before it goes out.  Since I’d already gotten the Thor set earlier in the day, I wanted to be sure to stick as close to the limit as possible to get it, rather than getting a ‘big’ set.

Spent AU$1K at Big W's Mid Year Toy Sale, of which, $875 was product made by TLG. Got most of the Toy Story 4 set out of the way, grabbing #10767, #10768, #10769 & #10770. On the Creator front, I grabbed #31094, #31095 & #31097 (awesome deal on the Townhouse paid $95.00, RRP is $129.99). Got two of the new Harry Potter sets for @xiahna #75947 & #75957, plus #41162. For me, I completed the Spider-Man Far From Home sets getting #76129 & #76130 (grabbed two of the Stark Jet, one to build, one for MOC supplies), plus second copy of #76113, #76123 & #76124 for MOC supplies, plus a third #76125.

2 polys at Target - #30543 is cute and seems plenty substantial enough for a $4 model. Would go with #40262 from my backlog
#30383 is one of the Star Wars ships I like and could buy several and army build (squadron build?) if I like this one

Managed a rare visit to the Glasgow Brand Store at the weekend while visiting the city.

Picked up #853744 Knightmare Batman to add to the ever growing batsuit collection and my daughter picked up a Friends Set and a Wonder Woman minifig alarm clock to replace the Wyldstyle one she 'borrowed' from my wife and now won't return!

Staff were awesome and threw in a Rocket Ride GWP even though we were a fair bit short of the threshold after overhearing my wife say she loved the set even though she hates LEGO.  She was even trying to get me to buy more just to go over the threshold. Possibly the first time ever that my wife has actually encouraged me to buy more and I've not obliged :)

Found a full sidekick for Disney minifigs at Walmart earlier this week. Got the ducks and chipmunks. Realized later I should have bought an extra of one of the boys to make Webby. Could use the bow from an extra Daisy Duck and maybe the torso from pink dress Lisa Simpson.
