    Hello!  I am fairly new here.. I have read posts before, but never posted.  I found this thread and wanted to ask about 2 pieces.  I have recently been using Lego Digital Designer to make a few custom projects (just the basic version) and there are 2 pieces that confuse me.  The first is a trans blue piece that I used a lot of in a waterfall type of project but when I went to find it to buy it I can't find it anywhere... so I'm guessing that this brick in this color doesn't exist?  I wanted to verify that before changing things.  Also the second piece is the 32x32 magenta baseplate.  I see a couple on sale online but I keep looking and can't figure out what set it was originally in... can anyone tell me the original set or was it just sold as a baseplate?  I will include the 2 pictures from the Designer but I'd appreciate any information!  (I hope the images aren't to big.. I'm not very computer savy and I don't know how to change them, sorry!)

    Can anyone help identify what set/theme these printed flame pieces came from? I bought a brand new, factory sealed set 75206 and later realized it was almost twice the weight of what it’s supposed to be. Opened it up and it’s 1 heat sealed bag (supposed to be 2 smaller bags) and correct instruction manual inside. Looks like correct parts are included but has A LOT of extra random pieces, very bizarre! And I cannot find this flame symbol anywhere. I haven’t opened the bag yet to look for piece numbers. Thanks!!

    It’s in some City fire sets...also there are obviously stickered parts in there - looks like someone bought it, took what they want out and refilled it with random parts they don’t want before resealing it.

    I thought that also, but the flame design is not the same as the LEGO City flame. Perhaps they are from a knock-off set...

    I haven't used LDD much, but I'm pretty sure there's an option to just allow you to build with parts in colours that are/were available. Its worth turning that option on in you're planning on building physical models of your designs.

    As for the Magenta Plate I see some for sale on Bricklink and they say it's lego brand?  I didn't really want to purchase it until I knew more about it.

    That's the tricky thing… there IS no option that will strictly limit parts in LDD to ones that have been in sets. The LDD basic mode seems like it's designed to do so, but in fact there are MANY parts in that mode that have not been in sets. And yet, if you export a bill of materials, they have element IDs assigned to them just like "real" LEGO parts.
    My suspicion is that these exceptions are parts that LEGO has produced internally (either as unreleased prototypes or for brick sculptures and LEGOLAND parks) but never put in sets. Parts like this are referred to as "Q elements". This would also explain why some of these can be found on BrickLink, since parts like this sometimes DO make it into the hands of the fan community through various means.     In my experience as an LDD builder, the best way to ensure your MOCs include only parts you will be able to obtain in real life is to use LDD Extended Mode and keep a Brickset or BrickLink window open to look up available colors for those parts whenever you're not sure about one. But this is admittedly tedious, particularly since you might THINK you're sure a part exists in a certain color only to find out later that it doesn't (this has happened to me more than once).
    One of the strengths of Stud.io compared to LDD is that because it's linked to the BrickLink database, it can do the work of showing you only parts that appear in sets (though there's still the issue of BrickLink's own tendency for categorization errors, and of neither program having a truly comprehensive parts palette)

    @TheWebExpert1- yes, my remark was meant to be light-hearted & taken in jest, but (as is almost everything these days) was apparently misinterpreted. There WAS a huge barrage of "what's this?" pics but I agree you have been polite & using this thread for its intended purpose. My comparison to LF2 was a bit harsh & I apologize for that. To these trained eyes it just seemed several of the parts you listed were very easily recognizable/identifiable; I must remember not everyone here is at the same "knowledge level" & the forum exists first & foremost to help each other out.

    (Well, also to brag about our finds 😋)

    Thank you very much for your detailed answer.. that helps me alot!  Thankfully those were the only 2 pieces - so far - that I have come across that doesn't exist in the colors I picked.  I will be more careful in the future, but I really appreciate the information about the prototypes; which thinking about it makes a ton of sense.  It was driving me crazy seeing a few of the magenta plates on brinklink for sale but no matter how much I researched it seemingly not existing!  Happy building!

    First pic, row 2, second figure in, turn the piece on the head around. It's a breather aparatus for firemen.

    Picture 2 4th in and row 2, 3rd in are definitely not Lego.

    Last picture, row 2 3rd, 4th and 6th look like they may be Chima figs, but never got into it so I'm not confident in being right.

    Everything looks like a mash of random minifig parts. And I don't think every accessory is Lego.

    It's certainly a mash of parts. The Ewok head pieces are probably the more expensive parts, but I don't know if that's still the case without their corresponding bodies (plain brown and plain grey respectively).

    As mentioned there's also a number of non-lego bits in there as well.

    Ersi, last picture, the 3 transparent green "ghost" head pieces are Skreemers from the 2015 Ninjago line.

    Curious if you go by Moclego on Instagram because it was a post there that got me curious to look them up.

    Hey folks - I need a bit of help identifying some of these minifig parts I got from a LEGO haul not too long ago. (They must not have been taken care of very well, being that they’re missing arms and hands!)There was a lot more I managed to positively ID, but I couldn’t find what these ones are, or what sets they’re from....Maybe I just didn’t look hard enough. Anyways, here are the pictures.I believe the torso on the right may go with these legs, although I could very well be wrong. The heads are fairly hard to find, I couldn’t find any ID numbers. (Once again though, maybe I just didn’t spend enough time looking for them)

    The red torso is from a shocktrooper in set #7671.
    The third torso belongs to Obi-Wan Kenobi and is found in 4 sets, #7665, #7255, #7661 and #7283.

    Please and thank you in advance.  I'm not sure if 26 is lego or not, but the others are.  I can see Lego markings on a couple, but the numbers are too small for me to see.

    I'd say everything except 26 and 28 is Lego. If you have two of piece 30, they clip inside piece 42.

    If stuff is ever too small to read (Lego or anything else), you can always take a picture and then zoom in. I've found this useful when trying to read the backs of tiny little batteries.

    Or get one of those illuminated magnifiers. You can get them as a pocket size loupe, or up to the desk mounted lamp type.

    Ok heres one for the masters. IDK if the head goes with the body. I searched for the head with:

    -glasses
    -targeting
    -reticle
    -mask 
    -balaclava

    & got nothin'.

    You also forgot that bricklink sucks at having consistent parts descriptions. 

    Another way to search this would have been to search minifigures in the Galaxy Squad sub theme if you would recognise the logo on his torso. Which if you aren't familiar with it you wouldn't know to look for.

    As far as information goes, I only use Bricklink. I just think they make it hard on everyone who isn't acquainted with their descriptions.
