Lego bulk price

Is there a general price per kg (or lb) for large unsorted lots of lego?

I am in the process of selling of some bits and I want to shift it as one big bulk lot rather than selling as separate sets. So wondered if there was an average price for it. Or would it depend on what was in the bulk lot and how complete it is?

    Seems to have a lot to do with where you are selling. eBay lots I have looked at tend to be around $10/lb. Local thrift store is closer to $5/lb. Local Craigslist ads range from "come take it" to "Lego is worth more than gold".

    @TheFew I am UK based.

    @datsunrobbie what is the value of gold currently?

    I regularly see facebook users quote £7 per Kg for unsorted without minifigures £10 per Kg unsorted but good quality with minifigures.
    I think those prices are too high fwiw. For £10 per Kg, I want instructions and mainly more 'desirable' themes like SW & Superheroes... if it's all police and fire then even with minifigures I'm already thinking £5 per Kg is too much for me and I'd get better value buying elsewhere. If it's dirty, or got a lot of other "brands" in, then £3.50- £5 per Kg is where I think it should be.
    I'm probably very much on my own with those opinions though.

    @Mr_Cross The lot is mainly Star Wars (although slightly order stuff) and has no instructions so I am guessing between £6 to £7 maybe the correct price. Although tempted by lower estimate as not sure it is all complete.

    "more than gold" is admittedly an exaggeration. I have seen several "all LEGO, no off-brand" tubs for sale for over $1000, with photos that show Megablocks and other "stuff" clearly visible in the tub.

    @TheFew I will drop you a list of what is in it and some pictures over the next week as i sort it all into a manageable lot.

    @datsunrobbie that sounds about right. A lot of people I think chance it to see if they can get that price for it from people who dont know that much.
