SumoLego where are you for talking about all the junk in this photo?
Well, there's a drum and cymbal all ready for a badum-tish ending to a terrible joke from the jester. @SumoLego is bound to find something else in the background to point out.

I do like the First Order poster, but you should really make your bed.

Last I checked, a Toyworld somewhere around Tasmania - can't remember which - has a bunch of long-retired Winter Village sets at RRP like they were only just released. Toyworld, by the way, is our equivalent of Toys R Us, and this store is quite a big one. I wonder if they're still there, or if a lucky fellow AFOL bought the lot...
About 4 years ago, around the time of the Parisian Restaurant, I found a Toyworld that had the Fire Brigade. That was probably my best find ever!

Well, you're going to have to wait a few years until I can clear out some space from that pile of sets :P

@Fizyx, how much does your Bricks and Minifigs charge for that large bulk brick bag?

I used to not understand backlogs of sets to build. I'm much more familiar with it now.

I want to say its $40.  I don't actually recall exactly because that bag was for a used set purchase, and is now being used for collecting the parts for the UCS MF Docking Bay build that I'm slowly bricklinking together :)

^^$40  would be about consistent with what my local stores charge. If it didn't take me 5 hours to pick through parts, it would be a better deal for me. I've walked out with their $8 cups full and it's taken 3 hours.

Speaking of which, I need to get my next target list together for a rummage through the bulk tables. I have a few stands to build for SW ships. Hoping I can get all the parts for less than $10.

I can be there next week.  Happy to build my way out that pile!  It's easier building someone else's sets.

Our problem is space to build & have everything assembled, as soon as we get the rest of the house sorted out, the plan is to get all our sets out of the Lego room so I can get it set up & then, the building will begin.

^ zusammengebaut did a tour of the exhibition on their English YouTube channel (assembled). If I remember correctly it was shown off a bit more there.

Thanks for the link, I can finally see a pic of the top!

I think I'm now at a stage where any part of the model that is not visible in the Brickset photo I will use my own imagination and discretion to build it.

In the video, the designer mentioned about the big drill sagging a bit, which is same as mine, guess their design also uses the technic axle to support the drill. Was thinking they may be using other techniques.

A lot of my recent LEGO activity has involved taking apart used sets, putting them back together to check for completeness (I know I COULD just inventory it, but I want to build them before they have to go in storage for awhile!) and then disassembling again... every time I have one that has Reddish Brown bricks, I end up basically holding my breath the entire time waiting for this until the set is finally all packed up and boxed.

    Rest in pieces:

Would there happen to be a convenient filter or bricklist which shows how many sets contain these notorious for breaking parts so one might check to see if they happen to have any in their possession?

From my experience, all reddish brown parts are brittle, i.e. break easily. Everytime I fix up or disassemble a set with brown parts, I have to be very very careful. So far almost all of my broken parts are brown/reddish brown.

My Winter Village sets are riddled with these broken reddish brown broken pieces.  I made a list so I could hit up LEGO for replacements.... and lost the list.  sigh.  Next year

Supposedly the issues with Reddish Brown bricks have been fixed... but we've seen it before.  They were especially bad around 2010-2015, and with sets after that I've had far fewer problems, but there seemed to be another crop of major issues in the last year or so as well.

    I built #3828-1 tonight.

My favorite show of all time is Avatar: The Last Airbender. I first watched it a few years ago. I’ve been pining to get the LEGO sets for a long time, but since there were only two sets and they didn’t sell many, the second-hand market prices are insane! I finally found a great deal on a used set #3828-1 on eBay.

Issues with the one I bought: Aang’s legs are wrong, Sokka’s head is all but destroyed by something that enjoyed chewing on it (replacement is already ordered), and some pieces were dirty, but they cleaned up nicely. I’m usually weary of buying used sets for the above reasons, but this was a really good deal so I’m not upset. Everything was there and went together nicely. I’m mega happy it come with the instruction book that is in great shape.

I’ll definitely be buying #3829-1 new, but I need to same some more money for that!

Btw, the firebender minifig is awesome. And considering when this set was sold, I’m impressed by the build and it’s techniques, especially for a set made in 2006 that cost $30!

My two Pick-A-Brick orders with the final pieces for my Docking Bay 327 are arriving today, according to the tracking info. Build that, then make a coffee table, then build the Falcon. It'll be a good Spring Break project for a couple off weeks from now.  Shore up some house projects in the meantime.
