They always send like the worst box possible to me so I avoid buying from them.
They sent it in a “padded” envelope which isn’t going to help if tons of parcels are thrown on top of it. They gave me a £5 voucher so it only ending up costing 1.40 but I’d still have liked a good condition box.

That was Amazon? I usually receive sets like that from S@H.

My parents-in-law just unearthed a partially-build, very dusty #8479, with loose parts in a little bin.
Took it home (with permission ;)) to de-dust and rebuild, so my son can play with it at there place.

Fingers crossed it won’t re-entrap me in the enourmous hole called Techic.

Hmmm upon closer inspection some vitals appear MIA; motor, one of the touchsensorthingys and all the flexitubes+joints. Also, the batterybox has some NASTY leaking batteries in it. Well, guess the search is on.

There are few constants in this universe. S@H not working right is one of them.

What if someone fakes a Certificate of Authenticity? I mean, how would you know if a certificate is a fake... unless you already have one to compare it to. But how do you know that one is real? hahaha....

It's sad that this is always everyone's first instinct- to doubt authenticity- but I really can't blame anyone.

Beyond just the figure and certificate displayed above there is a large amount of paperwork indicating this was won as a part of LEGO's competition.

Is Lego willing to authenticate the letters of authenticity? Will they confirm provenance? Serious question.

^^Sorry to have gone that direction. My comment was in jest only as I don't doubt the authenticity of the item. Certainly knowing at least a few of the items you  have in your collect @samiam391, I'm confident you know your stuff.

It's an awesome addition to your already incredible collection!

Found the Popcorn Cart Polybag at Wal-Mart yesterday before seeing Captain Marvel. For once I now have all of the City Polybags from a given year. Now to build it and enjoy.

So. i have not been around on here but i did get the London Buss about a month ago. and i also picked up the Moana's Ocean Voyage set. for 15% off the RRP so as it is a Retired set i was happy with that find. (i have only seen Moana Movie in the last 5 weeks and i loved it. all the songs are 5 Stars.) so felt i had to get the lego set. 5 other small set's none of them anythink to shout about.

today however desided to buy lot of stuff from lego.com. or as i like to call it shop@home. :p
this is what i now have on order.

#853683 LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS Jestro Keyring (my 2016 Aaron Key Chain need a friend)
#41632 Homer Simpson & Krusty the Clown (Brickheadz) need i say more?
    #40348 Birthday Clown (Brickheadz)
    #40354 Dragon Dance Guy (Brickheadz)
    #40349 Palentine's Puppy (Brickheadz)
    #41628 Princess Leia Organa (Brickheadz)
#853503 LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS Macy's Mace (yes as some of you know i like the nexo knigths theme big time. so this is going up on my wall somehow. also it was a good price.)
#10262 James Bond Aston Martin DB5 (i need me a big set to build.)
    #30404 Friendship Flower (look's nice)
#41775 Unikitty! Collectibles Series 1 x20 (good price. i hope to get all 12. this Series is the super blind bag. i dont think there is a way to work out what you get with your hands. also non of the shops ware i live ever had any. so never got my hands on any of them.)
#21316 The Flintstones (this set look awrsome.)
#21315 Pop-Up Book (can not help my self.)
#75884 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback (FREE)

in number of items this is my bigest shop@home order, 32 items in all.

I do have a moment of doubt every time I saw someone with photos of 1000 stormtroopers, wondering if they're all genuine Lego or a mixture of cheap Minifigures from China.

You can't really tell unless you strip the figures into their respective parts and scrutinise on the logo.

No worries! You have a right to question- whether that's in jest or not. I was more commenting on the general state of rare collectibles in that everything DOES have to be questioned; I wish that wasn't the case.

@samiam391 I'm sorry; I didn't mean to question the authenticity of your items. I was questioning the concept of certificates of authenticity in general.

It is an authentic piece of metal based off an authentic plastic toy, that comes with an authentic piece of paper, stored in an authentic plastic box, with authentic winning articles, and an authentic brown shipping box from LEGO with an authentic address... to go along with my authentic winning smile.
You aren't being very clear. Is it authentic???

Not to mention the means to purchase it are either paper or plastic as well.

Gogglebox is a bit like when cricket commentators first got to use that magic pen where they could draw stuff on the screen and they went a bit overboard with it.

Sold my sealed #4502 today. I had the money for about four hours before I splurged on Harry Potter sets at 20% off in Smyths. Self control... what's that? It was free delivery though.

Self-control indeed! My Dad gifted me some cash today and I went straight to Barnes & Noble and picked up a couple of Elves sets, not even on sale. Gotta love a store that still has retired sets, right?

Last I checked, a Toyworld somewhere around Tasmania - can't remember which - has a bunch of long-retired Winter Village sets at RRP like they were only just released. Toyworld, by the way, is our equivalent of Toys R Us, and this store is quite a big one. I wonder if they're still there, or if a lucky fellow AFOL bought the lot...
