@Glacierfalls265 this is just an elaborate scheme to get Cyprus trees back in production isn't it?
Or even cypress trees that aren’t from Cyprus ;-)
I have been conversing about the country a lot recently on my phone and just gave up battling autocorrect on this one.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share with you my Idea entry :) It's "Home Alone. McCallister's House". Hope you're going to like it, your support is much appreciated. If this movie inspires you as much as it inspires me - please ask someone to vote and may your families be always with you! :)

Dear friends, this is my new project on LEGO Ideas. I'm trying to raise awareness about the pollution problem in all our cities, by proposing an ecologic transport system based in a Bicycle Rental service and one electric van. If you like the set itself or the idea behind, please be so kind to support it. Many thanks.

I'm not sure if you've seen this one, but being a huge Zelda fan, I wanted to share this in the hope that this might finally be the one to bridge the Lego/Nintendo gap!

I honestly doubt this one will make it (since I doubt the figs would get Nintendo stamp of approval without new, more accurate molds), but it's still a fantastic MOC.

That's not how licensing works. Mega Bloks has Pokémon (licensed from The Pokémon Company, not Nintendo) and K'nex has Mario Kart and Super Mario, but Nintendo could easily license other franchises to different partners, just like Microsoft licenses Halo to Mega Bloks and Minecraft to Lego.

Is Legend of Zelda under anything other than Nintendo? As @Lyichir said, Pokemon is licenced under The Pokemon Company, and I'll also mention that Minecraft is under Mojang. Anyone know if Zelda has an equivalent?

No, Legend of Zelda is owned directly by Nintendo. That said, as an individual IP it doesn't seem to be licensed to any other building toy manufacturers.

    Hi everyone!

I recently just created a Lego rendition of Dylan's Candy Bar on Lego Ideas! So far, no Lego candy store has ever been produced in Lego officially, but I hope to change that.  This set took a very long time to design since I incorporated a lot of details into the set. This set includes everything a candy store should have: a jelly bean machine, a lollipop stand, realistic candy shelves, an ice-cream parlor, etc. My favorite is the chocolate bunny in the purple suit, designed exactly like the one in Dylan's Candy Bar.

Below is the promotional poster I made, incorporating snapshots of my work. Please share this project with other people- I really need more publicity in order to make this dream a reality, as I poured all my passion into making this project. Also, let me know what you think! Your feedback is really important to me.

Nice work! I really like how you did the chocolate rabbit and the fudge header was an especially nice touch. Aren't those the hand parts used for the pre-minifig, buildable figures from the 70's? Very clever.

Yup, the fudge header parts is also used for connecting vehicles together. I initially used 1x1 squares to mimic the fudge, but changed it since it looked more like a roof
  • chuckpchuckp Member Posts: 684
@UTAustinBL You're absolutely correct. It's been so long I forgot they made the piece in gray and used it with vehicles. I read you're submission on the Ideas site, were the issues with the early iterations of the "horror movie" rabbits that they looked evil? I'm not familiar with the movie you referenced, but it definitely piqued my interest.

    From the Ideas description:
Dylan's Candy Bar is a candy shop founded by Dylan Lauren in 2001, who wanted to "merge fashion, art and pop candy culture." Today, the candy store, now an American cultural icon, is located in major cities throughout the U.S., from the sunny beaches of Miami to the busy streets of Chicago. Their flagship store is currently located in New York City at 60th Street and 3rd Avenue.

That was my problem with it too. Never heard of it. I think it unlikely that LEGO would pair up with a sweet shop.

To be fair, I have an update - I just noticed at Target that one of the annoying displays they have set up in the middle of a main aisle has a Dylan’s Candy Bar sign.

I find that when someone refers to something as an "icon", they're either talking about a small symbol used to represent something, or something they think everyone else should already know about...

The latter usually, though not always, tends to have a level of smugness associated if the listener does not, in fact, know about it.

Basically, I don't trust people who talk about icons, unless they mean the little symbols.

Hi everyone, I sorry you guys did not know what Dylan's Candy Bar- I did not know that not everyone knew what the candy store was. However, I hope you would not overthink this trivial issue. Regardless whether it is an icon or not, I created a candy store for the sole purpose of expanding the Lego community, and not to divide it.

^Don't sweat it. I'm possibly a little jaded about things I don't know about. But, good news! The Weekly Digest email lists your candy bar as one of the staff's top five under-100.

Well guys, I've spent the last eight months working on a full rebuild of my Ideas project.

The model shown in the original submission was built in 2008, so I thought I'd have another go using up to date parts and fancy build techniques. Once more with feeling.

When I was a kid, LL928 felt enormous, and this version is a beast in the hand. I've tried to hit the major design beats of the original Galaxy Explorer, but with plenty of Neo Classic Space in the mix: cool lines, controlled studs, greebly bits, fancy detailing, all that jazz. UCS NCS, if you will.

I've spent a lot of time considering every aspect of this update. I don't know if the average supporter actually cares about that sort of thing, but it's important to me. The only thing I can do is try and make the model as good as it can be.

Now I don't like hassling people for support, but I have to try. The project's had a fairly strong start, but things are slowing down. I need to harvest much better numbers or it's not going to happen.

If you could add your support here, it would be much appreciated. If you're logged in to your LEGO account, it's just one click.

If you've already supported, please spread the word and try and get me more votes.
I could also use use a leg up with any bloggers or YouTubers out there.

I'm aware that all previous attempts at Classic Space inspired Ideas projects have failed to reach the magic number, so I'm keeping my expectations realistic.

If by some miracle it gets through, I'll do my best to give us an epic set which honours our childhood and respects the legacy of the original designer, Jens Nygaard Knudsen.

If the ship doesn't make it, I'm cool with that. I've had my moment of LEGO Ideas glory. It's you guys I'm thinking of.

It's an absolutely beautiful model @Legoloverman! I would love to be optimistic in thinking that it could get past review, but I am not sure, as you mentioned, that it's realistic. However, I did gladly support it!

Finished up relaunching my Legend of Zelda project.

I don't think there's any licensing conflict with Legend of Zelda. In the past Lego Ideas would always remove products with a known licensing conflict, however they have never done so for Legend of Zelda despite the fact that four projects made it all the way to 10,000. As has previously been mentioned in this thread, Nintendo has licensed other properties out to other companies, but Legend of Zelda remains free.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,555
^^^ It does look fantastic. However, I imagine the problem is that if lego want to do a classic space ship, they will do one themselves. Whereas the exosuit was something new, I doubt they'd pay someone else to do a re-imagining of their past sets.
