Specific LM2 CMF Question

wayneggwaynegg Member Posts: 394
Having list interest in the CMF line a while back I haven’t been keeping up at all. Tonight while feeling for Wizard of Oz figures, I came across a figure that was a bag in a bag like Mr. Gold was. Are they doing something like that again?

Yup. Several of the characters are double bagged.

Nope, there are no chase figures this time around. The cases have an even distribution of all 20 characters. :D

There also doesn't really seem to be a rhyme or reason for which ones are in a big and which ones aren't.

I suspect the bagged ones have been made in China and shipped like that for final packaging in Europe.

Aren't they all packed in China? As the European based LEGO CS often use this as an excuse as to why they cannot supply parts - they all come in pre-packed blind bags.

Change to CMF packaging from TLM2 - details here https://candidbricks.com/2019/01/19/lego-review-71023-lego-movie-2-collectible-minifigures-part-2/

I don't like the new packaging and the box. They are both too big and messes up my CMF Box collection.

They should fit perfectly with your UniKitty CMF box collection.

Maybe LEGO is taking the LOL/PikmiPop overpackaging approach.  More garbage, less product!

@Huw is correct. I asked Lego about the changes in this CMF series. The extra baggies are for figures that need to be shipped for packing. The extra size of the packages is to allow for figures like Watermelon guy and Crayon girl.

These packages are way easier to feel through though. Definitely seems to be a thinner plastic.

do the CMF bags have serial numbers printed on the back of them and if so, do the numbers identify what's in the bag. i only ask because Aldi are currently selling Hotwheels Mystery bags and the serial number on the back of the bag identifies the car in the bag.

^ I think they gave up that years ago, in my experience the CMFs in the first couple of series were identifiable by barcode, then they obscured that but you could identify by dots, then they flattened the dots to the extent that you might as well just feel the packaging.
