Wish me luck!

Not built anything technical for a few years and jumping straight back in at the deep end!

Working on #42078, also having not done any ‘modern’ technic.  The process is much the same as ‘normal’ system, so I’ve really enjoyed it.  Yet t the same time, it presents an interesting challenge as few of the parts overlap anymore, so the details were also unfamiliar.  Interesting!  I’d definitely do another set without shying away if it was one I wanted.  So enjoy your jump into the deep end!  WHy go halfway?

Built a couple of decent-sized technic sets over the last few months including #42054 Claas Xerion and #42080 Forest Harvester.  Apart from the obvious differences with parts, the only real difference I noticed was how difficult it is go back if you miss a step!

The Xerion had a couple of parts missing (picked it up used a while back) so I built around it thinking I could go back and fix once I'd ordered replacements on BL.  Got to a point where I realised I was going to have to take the whole thing apart to get to the missing part.  Luckily I didn't go too far with it before I realised, but was still a bit of work to dismantle.

So far so good with mine. I'm about 2/3 through the first instruction book. I've been so impressed with everything about it so far. Can't wait to get on with it!
