Currently attempting to upscale #75954 to make a larger Hall. Got my maths wrong a bit, it never was a strong point. I was planning to upscale it to 150%, but seems to be nearer 250%. Plan was to carry on making a minifig scale version of #71043, but unlikely unless I move everything else out of my Lego room including all the furniture......

As dull as it sounds, a legit parking garage would actually be a useful set to have. Good job!

As a set collector rather than a MOC’er, I’d definitely buy a parking garage!  I’ve considered hunting down #4207 just for that purpose in my city.

@monkey_roo Nice collection, but since when have there been so many?!

@milamber When I upscaled my Great Hall, I actually just made it one window wider (three studs) and one window taller. Having bought two, I could have made it much bigger, but I found that sufficient. It gives you room to hang four banners, and leaves more headroom for the figs.

I simply increased the footprint from 32 x 16 to 48 x 24 assuming, stupidly, that meant a 50% size increase. It doesn't :) Mine is 13 windows wide and 5 high. I'll see how I get on, but might need a rethink.

After a month of hunting, I finally snagged one of the new 2019 sets: #75226. While the website said it (and all the others) were in-store, nothing was on the shelves. After speaking with a helpful employee, it turns out they only just received Star Wars stock and had yet to put it on shelves because today was a public holiday (in lieu of Saturday). That was the only one out the back of the three I wanted - the others were absent but still registered as in stock, although the employee conjectured that they had been scanned when the toll ship arrived. At least I got this one, though!

I'm certainly impressed by it. The ship itself is more interesting and attractive than the box art suggests. I love how the figures, although appearing at first glance to be generic, each actually have their own customised weapon and face print! An excellent amount of detail.

I've just finished the Grand Emporium, bringing my modular streak to an end - Brick Bank, Detective's Office, Parisian Restaurant and the Emporium all built since mid-December. It's the oldest modular that I own and I have to say, it's one of the best. However, two things stood out during the build: 1) the interior of the building is so sparse & 2) there is a lot of variation between bricks of the same colour, especially the tan and white bricks, almost as though they are from several different batches. I'm really happy with the final build and glad I picked it up - it's the only modular that I have bought post retirement.

Next up is Ninjago City Docks.

@Th1nDiesel GE is also my only post-retirement purchase and I agree. It looks great on the outside but needs some filling. It's easy enough to fill it up though, get some extra mannequins and add some counters on the top floor. I just took a couple of pics of what I did and realise my first ever MOD can use some improvement. Still, here's whatI did. I used some stickered parts from the friends' mall wedding shop.

@snowhitie Yeah, that's looks pretty nice; I especially like the make-up counter - the lipstick pieces are a great touch. I was thinking of doing something similar; I have a lot of sports pieces currently without a home, so I might put a sports section on the top floor next to the toys with an expanded homeware department on the second floor

Got and built #60223 today. Also MODded it a little - need to get a little shovel later:

    Also fits #60181:

Size difference between the harvester and the tractor #60181 is striking, by the way.

It is very cool, I must say. Fun build. Definitely a change from my usual Star Wars build!

Keeping with the Star Wars theme I’ve just built the Boba Fett Brickheadz - some fancy build techniques in there.

^ That turned out awesome!  Really about as close to the real life version as you could.  Although not exactly like your real life setup, and a bit smaller scale than you chose for ultimate realism, as a set collector I like #60182 for being a distinctly American style RV.  But I never understood why it put the door on the left as in your Sprinter model.  Since I woudln’t expect to see this style RV in Europe.

Well the tractor portion of #42078 is done.  The guys from #8712 volunteered to do some team driving once I build the trailer portion of the set.  I can’t decide on scale though, if the vintage technic figs are in scale with the Mack or if they’re larger.  In a way they look like they’re driving a compact pickup instead of a semi, but they seem in scale with the outside of the truck.  There’s just enough framing for the body work on the inside though that the interior furnishings (seats, bunk, dash) seem 1/2 size small for the figs.  I suppose the next smallest fig Lego ever made though would be the Jack Stone style figs, which would probably be smaller than Mack scale.

I've had that set on my want list since it was first revealed, but it keeps getting pushed down due to other spendy sets coming out that I've wanted even more at the time... still hope that I'll get a chance to pick it up before it retires.

Stopped by the Birmingham Discovery centre this morning and nabbed some polybags I was after. Post teatime building session. Mrs S on pelican duty. Little Miss S on popcorn cart detail and me on SW hauler.
They are all very cool. The pelican lower beak is a cupboard piece on its side so can fit several fish in. Popcorn will now be available on the street outside the Palace Cinema.

You'll need to add an officious security guard telling people they can't bring it in and have to buy from the concessions inside at twice the price.

Being European, it's a right hand drive, has a left hand full entry door, and a pop top and side swing access.

Hmmm.. guess the Brexit is not a really big thing over there? ;)

All kidding aside, great job; really cool how you did the slide-out! Might want to adapt that for my 2018-trailer (the original set).

Eh, the UK isn't the only place with right hand drive. Ireland are too and we're sticking with the EU like a couple of plates and no separator in sight.

  • Camaro ZL1 Race Car #75891 is complete! Stickers sucked, but the rest of it was fun.

Didn't realize the "Chevrolet" on the rear quarter panels would be printed. I thought the wheel covers looked nice. Would like to see them do more/other derivatives of those.
