Brickset Bonusball, the "friday night" version (26th January draw)

Evening. I'd planned to do this earlier in the day while at work, but I couldn't think of a question, so here it is now instead with the least original question ever....

Its Friday night, Mrs Speedman is out helping run a Guide group, so its me and Little Miss Speedman home alone. We had pizza in the lounge, while running trains on a big LEGO train layout still up from last weekend, catching up on Great Canadian Railway Journeys with Michael Portillo. Then a chapter of Doctor Dolittle before she went to bed. Now I'm catching up on the forum and watching the opening stages of the Monte Carlo rally. A proper R'n'R Friday night! But the kind I love. So the question is, what is your best Friday night?

The prize will be a polybag picked from my stash by Little Miss Speedman.

The rules, write your answer below and the first 59 entrants will get a number, please try to avoid double posting until we get 59 entries. This is open worldwide.  And the bonus ball from the UK lottery on Saturday 26th will decide the winner.

Well my Friday night went like this so far: Spotify dance party with the kids to burn off some energy before bedtime. Andrew WK, Queen, Galactic Empire (metal star wars cover band check em out, great stuff) headlined the playlist. I also read 195 fish to one of them on request. I liked the jellyfish page. So many weird ones. I washed some dishes. We put the kids in bed and watched Brooklyn 9-9 until Netflix asked if we were still watching. I also ate some cheese and peanuts. Now it is time to see how Arsenal will embarrass themselves and ruin the good vibes. And there it is, Sanchez scores on them in humiliating fashion as I write.

Actually getting to do a bit of Lego building once the kids gave gone to bed, if the missus has gone out.

I had that Friday feeling on Tues, when I had the opportunity to get the huge stash of Lego out for my XL '66 Batcave and wing of Wayne Manor that's been ongoing for 2 years.

Since I hate going out and crowds it would be a night staying in with something good to eat. Building a LEGO Set. Having a good movie on in the background. Then a nice and sweet dessert.(probably something with chocolate)

Building a Lego set is obviously at the top of the list and getting some work done on one of the novels I'm writing is a close second. Either of those things make a Friday good. But the best Fridays are when I have an Inklings meeting (it's a writers group).

While purposefully trying to avoid bringing religion into the forums at all, Friday night for us is the Sabbath so my idea of a best Friday night is home with family, finally relaxing from a long week, with a good drink in my hand, good food on the table, and if I'm lucky a bit of decompressing time with LEGO.

My family has adopted a Friday night Family Pizza and Movie Night. It has quickly become the highlight of our week. I honestly sit at work all day Friday, waiting for the work day to be over so I can rush home and be with my family as we relax together.

One important detail is that the pizza is never bought, only ever made from scratch (including the dough)! It's the added element that makes it the perfect night.

Best friday is when I can build stuff, doesn't happen often during the school year.

We are making our own pizzas (we like to do that). Probably watch some sort of movie eventually. Just my son, wife, and I. Nothing special, but we like it.

To quote the David Gray song:

    Friday night I'm going nowhere
All the lights are changing green to red
    Turning over TV stations
    Situations running through my head

Friday for me is is all about stopping, chilling, reflecting on the week and catching up on TV (currently Titans on Netflix).

    It's Friday, Friday
    Gotta get down on Friday
Everybody's lookin' forward to the weekend, weekend

Best Friday is when the kids are asleep at 8pm, the house is tidy and I'm watching Brooklyn 99 with the wife.

Relaxing and watching a movie or binging a TV show with the option of eating something unhealthy before or during said activity.

Seeing my high school win the county wrestling team championship tonight would certainly be high on the list.

A 'perfect' Friday night would probably be the ability to go home from work, run out for a nice dinner, and then come home to relax.

It's not happening tonight, but I do like a Chinese takeaway with so much food that there's always a few cheeky leftovers to stick in the fridge for Saturday. Perhaps accompanied by a movie while the cat tries to pinch bits!

It’s not tonight. It’s 5 pm after a long week and it’s already a sh*tshow with crappy weather and super annoying drama with someone I loathe.

A great Friday night would be a quiet steak dinner out then watching Netflix at home without brats running amok in the apartment upstairs.

    Thanks for hosting @Speedman29

My best friday night would include (amongst other things) a curry, a new LEGO set, a film, a beer, a bit of quiet time and a giggle or two. Maybe a moonlit dance with my better half and a good quality single malt for a nightcap too.

    A perfect Friday evening:

When I was 15... NHL Hockey; Risk
When I was 19... College Shenanigans
When I was 24... Darts and Drinks
When I was 30... Olive Garden and Movie
When I was 35... Diner and Target
Tonight:  Diner, Target, arguing over which family movie to watch.

    Thanks for hosting!

Tonight’s been a pretty decent Friday night: Man U beat Arsenal, my set of TLM2 CMFs are winging their way to me, it was payday and now it’s the weekend! Plus I might win this Bonusball if I‘m really lucky. Thanks for hosting @Speedman29

My Friday’s now usually mean watching half a movie, and waking up on the couch just in time to see the credits..

A nice quiet dinner after a pleasant afternoon gardening, then decaf coffee while listening to a baseball game, keeping an eye out on some eBay auctions, and planning my next big MOC (to be honest, my first big MOC). Note that all this assumes it's late spring or early summer, or possibly the first cool Friday of autumn!

Just glad to have made it through another week. Looking forward to relaxing a bit then hit the sheets.  Early morning event tomorrow, sadly not Lego related, but should be fun anyway.

Thanks for hosting @Speedman29.  Hope every one has a perfect Friday evening, if not tonight, then really soon.

Friday’s the beginning of my three-day weekend typically, so Ive already had a fairly lax day usually. So a good Friday night tends to mean staying up too late, putting on a movie, or relaxing with a video game and a Frappecino from Starbucks!

Not actually happened for a while, but a really decent Chinese takeaway with a few beers hits the spot, whilst watching a decent film (or two!).

Boring, but a quiet one on the sofa with MrsB and a bit of telly does me just fine. The thought of going out somewhere with music too loud to think through and people getting drunk just makes me shudder these days

My best Friday night was last night when I finally got round to finishing off my GBHQ! It’s been a long process and my other half has been long suffering but last night it got a roof on and was finally finished! I now need a vehicle to go inside it though... 😂

Anything that involves chilling and or having fun in fab company, quite possibly accompanied by some tasty food and drink, makes for a great Friday night.

I've gotta say though my best Friday night ever is yet to come but I'm looking forward to it! ;o)

Home with the family having a good time! Might involve LEGO as well.
  • snowhitiesnowhitie Member Posts: 3,078
Every other Friday night it's choir evening and afterwards a late dinner and early bed. If there's no choir a board game or a bit of Lego building. Or just watching some TV, and chilling out to get ready for the week-end.

Now Saturday nights are movie nights with the family, Incredibles 2 on the menu tonight (if my son stops playing Nexo knigths ever).

    Thanks for hosting @Speedman29

I usually work on Friday nights, so any night I'm home! My kids have recently learned the rules of Monopoly and RISK, so those are fun to play with them. Toss on some homemade pizzas, some ice cream for you dessert...pretty perfect night!
