That model can be a problem when they sell out of LEGO, and there is empty shelf space. Of course the store will fill shelves instead of leaving them blank.
Right - store managers want to move whatever product they can.  But as I recall, there are sanctions if a designated section is stocked with the competition's product.

My local WalMart usually has that clone-brand crap mixed in with the LEGO- but I think it's due to apathy on the part of whoever is tasked with straightening up the aisle. Sets are very often not near the shelf price tag for that set. I was there last night, and they had most of the 2019 sets, but stuff was everywhere- not grouped by theme, apparently just stuck on any empty space, mostly without prices.
This is pretty much what I thought the answer would be.  Simple enough.  BUt I hadn’t thought either of CCC’s above, where they might have sold out after Christmas of LEGO brand sets & just filled with whatever.  Makes sense.  Thanks guys for all the answers!

    Back to Trump ...

Photoshop rather than clone, but still.

I love the "No doors or windows" selling point.

Is the purpose of the border wall to keep others out... or to trap us (Americans) here (with Trump)?

    Yes.  That is the purpose.

I remember that movie and why I haven't seen it since it came out. Maybe I'll have to give it another shot.

clearly this title was too obscure for Australian audiences so they called it "Escape from Absolom" instead.

    Starring David Hasselhoff.

Ok. Ok. Pony sniffing aside, either I have shared too much about myself over the years or you are bugging my house and stalking my Facebook page.

That's what you get for joining the Facebook Group.  Bwahahahahaha!

I will say the 'No Escape' coincidence was weird.  But I do love me some classic Liotta.

Where is my copy of Operation Dumbo Drop?

^Ray has gotten a lot of "work" done. I wonder if Dr. Lepin did all the work?  I don't know if it's famous Ray or original Ray.

It's not about what I would do; it's what my wife would do ;)

I figure it would be exactly like the unexpected gathering in The Hobbit ;)

Did Bilbo have a really dirty carpet too?

If you are referring to our ugly rug in the foyer (which got way too much "air time" in the forum); that rug wasn't dirty, it just looked like 100 cats threw up hairballs. It is no longer there :)

No No. The carpet is brand new. It's just the way the carpet is. All those spots are footprints from walking on it and matting it down and what not :)

I saw 30+ new comments and came to see what ridiculous argument was going on. And we are just evaluating Pitfalls carpet. It is content like this that has kept me on this site pretty much daily for the past seven years.

Did everyone notice the "CCC" written on the carpet?

Anyway, this is really ridiculous, but I blame @SumoLego for everything.

(This is partially your fault.  Who seriously still has a copy of 'No Escape'...)

Technically, Knock-off's don't copy the brand name or infringe on a trademark. Counterfeits are different in that the maker tries to pass off their item as authentic.

Back to where the Chinese win after LEGO has previously failed ...

70p or so each delivered. I'm in for "a couple".

Now I am just waiting for a decent Witch King helmet.

I received these. The helmets and armour are beautiful. The shields are OK, but stlightly too detailed compared to what LEGO normally produces. I'm not so sure about using the fake minifigure parts, as most of this gets covered by the armour, so I'm sticking with existing real minifigures, but the helmets and armour are great for filling that gap that LEGO never filled.

So, this thread has me wondering about Trexit, why Lego never made a Minas Tirith model, what makes brand new carpet look mucky, what I would sing if invited to tea at a Hobbit's hole, and the crappy DVDs I have in my garage (there are quite a few).

Thank you Brickset - you never fail... :-)
