Can your wife buy me a few things? Mine despises legos...Really though, i'm insanely jealous of people who have spouses that actually encourage their building activities.
Having a supportive partner can have it's own issues, especially if they end up getting into Lego too. I've had to have arguments over who is building what sets, I'm currently having to bargain with @xiahna over who gets to build the #21037 set I grabbed off BrickLink for me.

The current Harry Potter sets remain unbuilt in our house because it’s unclear whether the sets are mine or ‘ours’

Ordered the Technic Rally Car #42077 from S@H on Sunday with the 24 in 1 Christmas set freebie (O2 priority moments) and Carousel freebie, along with a selection of power functions bits to make it into a remote control model. Apparently it's coming tomorrow.

Bought some of the kid's Christmas presents in Smyths and saw the Rally Car box while in there - it looked massive! Very pleasantly surprised at how big it will be for £72 (20% off full RRP from S@H).
The Rally Car is really a great set. Got it for my son for his birthday last year and he loved it. Still has the alternate model put together even which is unheard of for his Lego.

There's no danger of my wife getting into Lego herself; it's just not for her, plus she doesn't really get time to sit down and build. However, she fully supports the hobby, to the point of letting me have half of the garage conversion for my layout.

Over the past two weeks (we finally settled on one thankfully) my wife and I have been working on one of the worst shopping experiences there is, buying a car.

Of course, that has meant limiting our Lego purchasing ability, but I did still purchase #21030 United States Capitol Building a couple weeks ago with spending money I had set aside.

^I must be incredibly odd. When I had to buy a car I went to Carmax, drove two cars the guy picked out for me based on what I had been driving before it was wrecked, picked one, did the paperwork & was done, all in one day. I guess I wasn't very picky!

Well done sir, very well done. ;)

Mine supports me, i've got 1/4th of the attic for display (4x4m), and doesn't mind me building in the living room - i have the top part of a huge cupboard filled with parts and (partly) build sets (can't put anything in the bottom the kids wouldn't destroy/spread across the room/etc).

Loads of #10704 and #10854 (the WalMart Thanksgiving deals) for parts
Some of those and a few others for gifts
Some #71022 Harry Potter CMF but only on sale and as part of a larger order

Makes sense. Clearly a misprint on #70841 Benny's Space Squad though as it's clearly 4-99!

i am not dead.... (just not got alot of lego over the past 9 months)
however over the last 2 weeks.
    i placed orders for :-

    #21311 Voltron (payed £159.99)
#70657 Ninjago City Docks (payed £149.99) 25% off.
    #70620 NINJAGO City (payed £259.99)

there part of the christmas gift's for my self. in other words "it's christmas lets by my self something good."
and as thay are gift's (even of there from me to me hehe) i dont get to build them to christmas day.
so it look like i got a good christmas day of building as i also know i am getting :-

    #75190 First Order Star Destroyer
    #75212 Kessel Run Millennium Falcon
#75189 First Order Heavy Assault Walker

when you have close to 400 lego set's the only way to stop yourself ending up with set you got before. is to help the one who going to give you the gift get the right set's. so i end up knowing what i going to get. i never was good at not sneking in to mum's room and looking around to see what i was geting for christmas. :) any how there no ware to Hide Box's that big. lol.
now i be around but as mum's not will i need to keep a close eye on her. not going to have time to read the forum's, so any how. this has been my what i getting post.
Merry Christmas to all. and a Happy New Year. (what so there still 11 more days to new year. it's been months from my last post it may be months before my next one.......... )

I was out doing my last-minute Christmas shopping when I came across this at Half-Price Books

It wasn't released in the U.S. I have the Book of Monsters so I thought why not? They had several copies, all of them shrink-wrapped & seemingly brand new.

It's a very fun book! Picked one up last January during my London study abroad trip. I hope LEGO continues to release beautifully illustrated and humorous reference books like this for other themes like Ninjago.

I've been extending my Harry Potter collection. I picked up a mint #4708 Hogwarts Express to contrast against #75955. I also picked up #40028 just before Christmas. Since I'm having problems braking the seals on these sets, I also picked up a Wrebbit 3D puzzle of Hogwarts Express which I plan to build later tonight! :-)

Obviously no pictures, but just ordered Huricane Heist NIB on Ebay for $29. I missed Ultra Agents when it came out but I really likes a lot of the designs, so this is my first UA pickup. While this is probably my least favorite set from the theme from what Ive seen, that price seemed too good to skip. Will update when it arrives!

Bought a #76099 (Rhino Face-Off) from Target for $11.99.  During my perpetual re-organization, I was short one Okoye.

And found me a couple of Easter Bunny Brickheadz that the seasonal LEGO Store employees promised me would not be returning.  (This is my third visit since November 15th, and magically, they appeared!)

As an aside - either LEGO produced a crap-ton of these seasonal Brickheadz or the sales really are lagging.  I don't recall ever seeing all of the seasonal sets available at the same time.

Checked my local store for #70841 but as expected they'd sold out. So consoled myself with #70821 and #70836 plus picked up another Cyberman for my Cyberarmy, less than £4 is a bargain (especially once I flog the Dalek!).

I'll have to check my local store for the Easter Bunny Brickheadz then. They've been sold out on S@H for awhile now. If I can pick one up for $7, then great. If not, I think I'll live.

The only seasonal ones that have really grabbed my attention are the Mr. and Mrs. Claus (which I grabbed early) and the Dragon Dance Guy (which is currently in my cart on S@H).

I'm having a bit of an internal struggle on my next purchase and whether or not to include the Pop Up Book or not. Can anyone give any insights or thoughts as to whether it's a worth-while purchase or not?

I like it! The way the parts fold is really cool, and the wolf in grandma's pajamas and glasses is an awesome minifigure. Go for it!
  • pxchrispxchris Member Posts: 2,438
I haven't bought it yet myself either @Switchfoot55 but it'll almost certainly be my next S@H purchase. Every review I've seen just has me liking it more. Just waiting for double VIP points.

Back at work today, so first chance to get to the Brighton Lego Store since before Christmas in the vain hope they might still have a Benny’s Space Squad. Unfortunately, after battling through hordes of children and sad looking middle aged presumably AFOLs (or was that just a mirror?) there were no Benny’s to be had :(

Luckily the nearby Entertainer had plenty so I returned to the office happy :)

  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,484
@pxchris, good point on the double VIP points. I have a bunch to spend currently, but a few other things in my cart that max those points out. If I'm going to spend the money, I might as well get double points!
  • pxchrispxchris Member Posts: 2,438
@Switchfoot55The only problem is... I have no idea how long the wait is until the next double VIP points will be. Eek!
