I can barely bring myself to post such horrific injuries, but this seller thought sending a polybag out in a normal unpadded envelope was a good idea.

Envelope had black marks and poly bag shredded along one side. Been through some sort of roller I think. I pointed the seller in the direction of some sturdy large letter sized boxes at 10p each......

This eBay seller's telling me to contact USPS  in order to get my address corrected when I've been using the same one for all my past transactions. I told him that's his responsibility. It's been almost two weeks with the item going back and forth NY and CA, and the tracking says insufficient address.
If he used the address you provided... Then that's on you. I know I've had loads of buyers that give me insufficient, or downright wrong, addresses.

California Vietnam? Sure, that's a place...

Not sure if you missed the part where I said I've been using the same address for my past transactions. 157 transactions and I've never had an "insufficient address" issue til now. It's been the same ever since I joined eBay in '06.

I don't know how it works in the US, but in the UK it would be down to the sender to correct as they are the person who has a contract with the carrier, not the receiver.

Definitely the case with Ebay/Paypal. I had a buyer recently who gave me the wrong address. I even queried it at the time as Royal Mail couldn't identify it, but ultimately had to send to the address on the Paypal payment. Unsurprisingly it got 'lost' and it was my responsibility according to Paypal even though the buyer made the error.

@Shib apparently the seller contacted eBay customer support and they probably told him the same thing cause now he's saying he can't go to the post office til Thurs or Fri, he's upset with the post office, he'll keep me posted and thanks for being understanding, etc.

Nope, I saw that part- I'm not saying that you did anything wrong, but I know that I've had over two dozen buyer that "have used that address before" and there was a silly mistake somewhere in the address (something on the wrong line, etc.)

It's not the seller's responsibility to make sure the address is correct. That's on the buyer who provides the address. It's the seller's responsibility to ship the address the buyer provides- nothing more.

But eBay saves your address? It's not like eBay/PayPal requires you to re-enter your it with each transaction. I check my address twice before I hit pay, and it's also on the details page of the order, which I've checked even before I contacted the seller. I'm not sure how those buyers who bought from you managed to fumble theirs.

That's certainly how it should be, but it's absolutely not the case with Ebay/Paypal. It's the seller's responsibility to get the item to the buyer. Ebay simply couldn't care less if the buyer puts in an incorrect or even fake address. If the item doesn't arrive it's the seller's responsibility. I've been on the wrong end of it recently.

Sounds like the problem I've been having with FedEx recently. First a little background info. I placed many an order at [email protected] and they always delivered no problem before. Sometimes they call, but most of the times it's just by my mailbox. Placed an order at [email protected] on Friday to get JW MInifigures. I wasn't at home when they tried to deliver on monday. Did have two strange call on monday, but I couldn't answer phone because I was in surgery. They left no message. The next two days they couldn't deliver because they said no one was home, but I was. They didn't call, and they left my packages before without me being home. Today I checked, and tracking said they couldn't deliver because no such address. I called FedEx, and gave them my address. It matched what was in the system, and it was still out for delivery to get delivered today. Well as you can guess I didn't get it, and tracking still shows no such address.

That's a common problem with FedEx, especially at this time of year (due to an influx of seasonal fill in drivers). Once the address has been marked 'undeliverable', getting them to sort it is like pulling teeth. The customer service reps will just keep sending the same note to your local dispatch, which the errant driver will just continue to ignore. It's just driver laziness (they'll not go out of their way to confirm they're wrong), which FedEx' normally smooth system just doesn't compensate for.  Next time you call customer service, insist on speaking with someone in CAT (Customer Advocate Team). They will get it sorted quickly.

@gmonkey76 Performing the surgery or under it? Either way, hope everything went well.

What's weird is usps didn't return the item back to sender when it first went back to the point of origin. Today the seller contacted me saying that usps finally delivered it back to him, so the item made two round trips altogether.

    In other news:

Got my last B&P order for the year, and it only took six days. Awesome. The one I ordered before this took about 2-3 weeks, give or take. What sucks is some items(especially theme-specific parts) tend to get discontinued the following year, after B&P closes for the holidays.

So FedEx called and said they couldn't deliver because of seasonal drivers not wanting to call or leave outside.  They said I could have it delivered to a Jewel or a Walgreens. Lucky I live across the street from a Jewel. Went to pickup and at first they couldn't find it, but when they did they said not to do it again because they don't do it. Long story short it's here.

FedEx just dropped a package off here. Left it on the front steps, just far enough out that rain pouring off the roof hit the box. No knock on the door, just dropped in the rain and took off. Lucky I had text notifications for delivery turned on or the box would have been soaked through in minutes. Still, it seems to me to be a better option than having the package dropped at the drugstore down the street. With seasonal drivers leaving packages with seasonal employees at third-party locations, what could possibly go wrong?

I typically work from home on days when a FedEx package is scheduled for delivery.

On a separate note, ordered a set last week on amazon and the day it was supposed to be delivered I saw tracking update to show that it was “available for pick up at the local post office”.  So I went down and spent half an hour waiting in line and waiting for them to look for it to tell me “oh it’s probably out for delivery”.... later that night sure enough it showed up. Odd.

^^ @piratemania7 - No, no snarky comments.  I actually envy that room.  I've been mulling over finishing my basement, but the intermittent recurrence of basement water prevents me from doing so.

Although that shelf with the cinema and restaurant looks precarious.

Very proud of my little girl, who's not yet 5. She built this LEGO house:

I was her "parts monkey" and kept getting told off for helping (she dismantled everything I did). So she pretty much did this on her own.

Quote. "It's open on the top so you can play the figures in it."
Somebody better watch their collection closely. :)

    My status today is aaaarrgh!
Have been discovering the niceties of display cleaning (I tip my hat to folks with permanent displays, how you keep them clean baffles me. It must be a full time job).
To be fair, things have been made somewhat worse by all the Christmas decorations deciding to shed some of there glitter payload all over the place and the fact my Christmas display as all laid out on white plates but damn it's frustrating having to move everything to leave enough room to sweep the dust out.

    @bandit778 I like these
The make up brush is for the big dusting, but my favourite is the fan one on the left. Very soft brushes so no scratches.

    ^, ^^ & ^^^, thanks for the advice.
The make up brushes are usually my cleaning friend of choice on normal occasions and work really well with my usual build, display, clean and disassemble routine but due to the nature of the winter display all I seemed to be doing was pushing the dust/glitter combo around the display until it got stuck in the lowest layer of plates.

Will have to wait to try the alternative measures though as going to the shops two days before Christmas wouldn't have been a good idea.
With the level of people out doing last minute shopping I may not have gotten past the hockey mask and cutlery sections.
