They are slated for June but you might see them early in the next few weeks in some USA stores. I will start looking for them here in the UK during the Spring Bank Holiday (28 May) since some stores here may stock their shelves early.

I hope so! I'm on vacation in two weeks, and I want to bring some new LEGO to build while camping. Last year I got #75178 Jakku Quadjumper on May 23rd (my birthday), and that was officially a June 1st release, so it's looking good for City Arctic!

I don't think either will be retired this year.

Agree. PR is way too popular, and Brick Bank is too new.  If they feel the need to retire one to make space, I feel like it would be the Detective's Office.  2nd oldest active modular, and I feel like it's currently being heavily over-shadowed by every other modular that's out right now, so I wouldn't be shocked if it's not keeping up on volume with the other sets.

I suspect they'll have to eventually. The number of new factories and expansions to existing factories in recent years has been one of the things eating into the LEGO Group's growth. And yet, their existing factory and warehouse space is finite. So keeping an expanding slate of large, parts-intensive, and niche (compared to, say, City or Friends) products in production is bound to become infeasible sooner rather than later.

I get the sense there are a lot of these sets that have already been produced and are aging in any number of warehouses...

I would suspect the same - it is arguably the least sexy of the available modulars.

However - given the price point of Assembly Square - that one could always be next.  (If they're going to pull an out-of-order Town Hall fast retirement.)

I'm very intrigued to see if there will be a mass retirement of a number of more expensive sets due to TRU exiting the market.  (Granted, I'm North American-centric, so maybe that just means I get to see high volumes of LEGO at other retailers.)

Or the LEGO Retail Store and Amazon being the driving factor for larger retail sets.

After a few weeks of suspicion Lego has formally revealed two sets from Solo I want (Enfys Nest is still unofficially revealed):

    75217: Imperial Cargo Train (needs another cart and a pilot for the front and the removal of the turret to place on a MOC and it's $89.99 for five figures and two train carts that can't be used on tracks and sadly isn't a monorail train);

75218: AT-Hauler (only two figures are accurate (Val and Rio) while the rest are unnecessary in my opinion, my Imperial Forces are so gonna have an use for it and it's so worth the $99.99 for five figures and a ship).
Both sets are a little stingy with the price so like the Tie I will wait.

Well from my list I created back at the beginning of February, the following has happened:
    1. Tron set definitely on my list.
    2. Five out of six IW sets are not only on my list but I've got 4 of them and the fifth is on it's way. Still not sure about the Wakandan set.
    3. Two Speed Champions have been bought. So far there aren't any more I want.
    4. My son no longer wants the Talon Fighter, so I'm free to get that as it falls further in price.

Brickheadz, Wizarding World sets and Star Wars are all still up in the air.
Well, we're (almost) in the latter half of the year, and looking at my want and own lists and the list above...
    1. I now own Tron
    2. I have all IW sets except for the polybag - I'll get that eventually, hopefully
    3. SC remains the same - no new ones to be added
    4. I have the Talon Fighter
    5. I've added several Brickhaedz to my want list (Mr & Mrs Claus, Mickey, Minnie, Darth, Stormtrooper, Luke & Yoda, Leia, Boba, Groot & Rocket), and several more to my owned list (Gamora, Star Lord, Thanos, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, Batman & Superman) but I don't want another version of Iron Man so I've left him out.
    6. HP sets - I'm tempted by the rumoured microscale Hogwarts... we'll see... Nothing else interests me.
    7. Star Wars sets - I want the UCS Y wing, the TIE from Solo and the X Wing.

Still thinking about the Bugatti, AoU Hulkbuster, The Statue of Liberty, Voltron and Ship in a bottle. And definitely want the 007 car and Las Vegas.
Oh, and I bought Quantum Realm Explorers as soon as it was available.

It will be interesting to see how my list at the end matches the list at the beginning (and not just the increase in numbers!)

No way to get, but I can dream:
    - Hogwarts Castle (I'm almost thankful it's not minifig scale, that takes the shine off it a little)
    - Voltron

    Will buy at some point:
    - Hogwarts Great Hall (probably next week)
    - Whomping Willow (the price will need to come down considerably, though)
    - Grindelwald's Escape
    - City Hospital
    - Forest Tractor

Will compromise and just buy the animals/minifigs:
    - Arctic range (sadly the mammoth head and body are out of stock online - has anyone been able to buy them by phone?)
    - Might pick up some Harry Potter CMFs on the secondary market

So, a Harry Potter and City-dominated year...

EDIT: Actually... when are we expecting the pop-up book? Because that's a must-buy...
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,527
I now have the IW Guardian's Ship polybag, Darth Vader and Storm Trooper BHz and the AoU Hulkbuster.

Still thinking about the Bugatti, the 007 Aston Martin has become a 'maybe', as has the microscale Hogwarts Castle, I've taken the Statue of Liberty off.

It's all go on my constantly changing wants and owns lists!

The summer catalogue dropped through the letterbox today. My wanted list for rest of the year had nothing much in it. The DB5 still looks wrong to me, the Chiron is too big to display and expensive. I like HP but not enough to buy the sets. In fact there's nothing in there that grabs me....

.....then I got to page 25 and saw the Technic concept Volvo digger #42081 and it's B model. Top of the list for a quirky set!

Also need two passenger trains as well.

Anyone else find that there's some nice sets outside their usual themes that you'd like to build but it's not worth the cost, won't fit your display etc? I feel that was about the Statue of Liberty and Ninjago City/Docks. All large sets I'd like the build experience but not have to deal with the expense/display.

I now have most of the Harry Potter sets. Initially wasn't tempted by microscale hogwarts but it's really grown on me, and I have some points saved up on [email protected] so atleast that will soften the blow.

Still need to pick up a couple of the bigger Solo sets, some of the newer brickheadz and the porg later this year.
  • 560Heliport560Heliport Member Posts: 3,872
Well, Harry Potter was outside my usual themes, although I did buy #4768 The Durmstrang Ship- the Target-exclusive version with 4 extra minifigs- just because I thought it was a cool ship. But now I have #75955 Hogwarts Express and 15 of the 22 CMFs!

The Ninjago city and docks along with the temple from a couple of years ago are all big sets I'd love to own, money and space permitting. They look incredible.

I have this with the trains - I'd dearly love to get the Cargo Train (the one that just retired - I had many debates with myself about it!) but in the end I just couldn't justify the floorspace. And the thing about small layouts is that it becomes like the Micro Scalextric I had as a kid - first you're like, "Yay, affordable Scalextric!" but then you realise it's not so interesting and challenging at that scale...

Hello, I have noticed that the list I usually start working on is a no show but that is what college attention does to one. The recent official reveals so far are great but in this list I'll be adding my picks but don't fret, add your own:
    Star Wars:
    -most of my SW sets are in the 2018 (Vader Castle, Solo Tie, X-Wing, RO Y-Wing, Cantina remake maybe, Boba Fett Brickhead);
    -Inferno Squad Battle Pack (sad that we don't see a helmet for Iden or we haven't seen the other faces for the rest of IS);
    City:
-most are in my past 2018 list (Hospital, Capital City)
    -the new road plates (straight/T and curve/+) packs;
    Generic (Vestas Wind Turbine from 2018);
    Overwatch:
    -DoradoShowdown;
    TLM2:
    -Emmett House;
    Jurassic World:
    -from 2018 Carnortaurous Gyrosphere Escape.

Haven't gone through the effort of making a spreadsheet to really choose comprehensively which sets to get/not to get, but here's what I'm currently thinking of as "must haves" or "might as well haves" right now:

    Spinjitzu sets 70659–70664
    #70670 Monastery of Spinjitzu
    #70679 The Ultra Dragon
    #70827 Ultrakatty & Warrior Lucy
    #70828 Pop-Up Party Bus
    #70830 Sweet Mayhem's Systar Starship

I will probably be adding a LOT more Ninjago and LEGO Movie 2 sets to my wanted list, but haven't narrowed down which yet.

  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,679
    interesting ones so far are
    -the rexplorer
    -pop up party bus
    -monastery of spinjitzu
    -ultradragon
    -golden dragon
    -jay's storm fighter
    -watchpoint gibraltar

not sure I'll get them all, monastery is top of the list so far. ultradragon probably bottom, I have the first one.
  • Baby_YodaBaby_Yoda Member Posts: 1,295
Definitely both Star Wars battle packs, Tracer vs. Widowmaker, Bastion, Benny's Squad, Emmet's Thricycle, perhaps the Party Bus?, the Minecraft Pirate Ship, and a couple of sets from last wave like the X-Wing and Whomping Willow.

Quite limited here; Sure things so far are the new Modular (even though its not out nor leaked yet), the City Harvester #60223.
Maybe's are the little digger #60219 and the Snowgroomer #60222 (for my WV), #31094 the Creator Houseboat.
Very maybe the burgerbarfireset (#60214), as I think i like the firetruck.

2019 might become the year of my first Speed Champions set with the Classic Mini being very cool ( #75894 ), but i really don't know what to do with the rest of the set.

For now, that's it really. Probably will invest in some MOC's/MOD's later in the year.
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
All the Marvel sets, as usual, while I don't play Overwatch, I'm thinking I'll probably pick up all the sets bar the overpriced one on Blizzard's website, also:

    Duplo
10893 SpiderMan vs Electro (for our younger one)
10895 Emmet & Lucy's Visitors from Planet DUPLO

    Minecraft
    21151 The End Battle
    21152 Pirate Ship

    Ninjago
    70670 Spinjitzu Monastery
    70680 Monastery Training

    TLM2
    70821 Emmet & Benny's Workshop
70830 Sweet Mayhem's Starship (likely end up in my MOC supplies)
    70831 Emmet's House
    70836 Batman & MetalBeard
70841 Benny's Squad (will probably pick up a few of these - CLASSIC SPACE MINIFIGS!!!)

    Star Wars
    75223 Naboo Starfighter Microfighter
    75224 Sith Infiltrator Microfighter
75228 Escape Pod vs Dewback Microfighters
75229 Death Star Escape (BIG MAYBE)
75237 TIE Fighter Attack (for MOC parts, plus rebel trooper)

(Glad the Microfighters are PT/OT, avoided the last wave as it was DG)

    Chinese New Year
80101 Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner
    80102 Dragon Dance
    80103 Dragon Boat Race

(So glad we're getting these in Australia, they look so awesome)

+All the 2018 & earlier sets we haven't picked up yet (the list is getting shorter, slowly, but surely).

    2019 Modular
    Spider Man sets
Captain Marvel sets (assuming there is something)
    Avengers 4 sets
Lego Movie 2 stuff - especially the Benny sets.
    Lego Movie 2 CMF
    2019 CMF
2019 City for my son - especially #60220

Not 2019 sets, but I think I will finally bite the bullet on the Death Star and possibly the Imperial Flagship if I can find a decent price.

Right now I'm just hyped for the Lego Movie stuff. I need all of it. I can't wait to sed what else Lego has in the pipe for the theme.

Other than that, it'll just be the usual DC sets and random "that looks fun to build" buys for me.

Some interesting and some meh! sets for 2019. Nothing really grabs me from the SW range apart from the microfighters and then there is only three sets (down from four this year, is it the end of the MF range?).

City looks to be pretty limited as well, I'm not into emergency services, so just the harvester lorry and the snow mobile. Speed Champions Senna, Nascar and Mini look good. TLM2 sets are lacking something for me, but once I've seen the film I may change my mind.

This years modular did nothing for me, the style and colour didn't really fit with the look of my street, so next years will have to be special to be bought.

Could be a cheap year all round!

#10264: DD last year beat out DO for my fav modular with the streamline moderne style, so to continue the architecture, with a cool garage theme, all built on a 45, I definitely have to get this one, even if it’s not the best modular ever.  Or at least it looks closer to earlier modules.  Guess I’ll tile the floor & add the extra builds from #75875.  The towtruck from #60137 should be a nice size as well to bring it into the modern era with modern 4-wide vehicles for nice scaling & not overpowering the buildings.

#60214: That little burger bar looks awesome!  Even if I have no need for a fire truck.  But if I can find it cheap enough on sale.  Maybe combine it with #41349 for something interesting in a city setting.

#60240: who can argue with another cool 4-wide to add variety to city streets when it’s available for impulse buy money.

The Flintstones: Whatever this set turns out to be, I’m sure to buy it.  I usually roll my eyes at some of the IP based Ideas sets, but well this is an IP that I like so that’s totally different LOL

Other than that, it might be a catch up kinda year.  I still need Parisian Restaurant and Ninjago City (and Docks) for my Modular/city interests.  Statue of Liberty for Architecture.  I’d like to try my hand at technic with the Mack truck.  And last but not least, it’d be nice to buy both the Winter Village Fire Station AND whatever set is new next year to “catch up” instead of always being a year behind.

I went out of my way to avoid the Lego Batman Movie (I've only just recently actually seen the film). It wasn't until I saw #70919 in the store that I even realized the line included DC characters completely unrelated to Batman or Gotham City. That led to a mad last minute scramble to research which sets included which characters, and then track them down at the last minute before they disappeared from store shelves.

I actually did save a lot of money in the end. Rather than getting swept up in the moment and buying everything on contact, I avoided the frenzy and ended up buying only ten sets and most of the CMFs. I got everything I really wanted, without ending up with a pile of black and 'very dark grey' bricks that would just join the bins of Lego Batman crap I've amassed over the years.

Of course, all bets are off for TLM2. I already want it all. :p

Optimism is good!  I have both those set #’s checked in my wanted list as well, until we see which one is the Mustang & what the other one is.  Could the market be there for 2 of these in a year?  I mean #10265 could always be the mustang of course, being labeled ‘car’, but the other one could be anything then really.  A Jeep would be nice... but it could be a London cab to go with the bus, or anything really.  Or is it just they’ve reserved 2 set numbers, and one will go unused?  I wonder.

Ugh. JP/JW as a line has so much potential, and Lego does THIS? Put the frickin' crack pipes down, people... :( it's like they WANT the line to die, or only want to do just enough keep the license so Mattel/Mega Construx can't take a run at it of their own.

It is sorta like the Freemakers Saga but in JW, I am only interested in two sets but the builds like the Barnionyx enclosure and that volcano are neat anyway, add Jedi Fallen Order sets to my list:

I dunno what the issue is… these seem to me like sets kids will enjoy. Lots of other toymakers have made all kinds of extremely silly toys for both Jurassic Park and Jurassic World over the years, so obviously SOMEONE'S been buying them.
Plus, the Jurassic World movies tend to be rather ridiculous and implausible in their own right. If that hasn't been a deal-breaker for LEGO, buyers, or moviegoers by now, what's to lose by embracing it?

I couldn't disagree more. Despite the insane absurdity of these sets, I'm significantly more drawn to them than previous Jurassic stuff. Might be my first purchase from the licence...
