HP minifig set of four professors or whoever they are (sorry, not a fan of HP, but I am a fan of you guys!) are free on the 17th on November, with a minimum spend on $75 on Lego.  Assume it's only HP Lego, but not sure.  Adding this comment because I don't recall seeing the threshold before.  I only learned this as the employee I spoke with tonight mentioned it.  (I am trying to find this for my wife, who is a fan.)

Local B&N is still doing the Kessel Mine Worker promo, but nothing interesting for me on the shelves, so I asked if I could buy the Minifig by itself, cashier scanned and said yes it should be ok (around $1.27), but had to double check with Manager, who came around and just gave me a flat "No, it is to be distributed with the Promo not by itself." Worth a try I guess.

I was also told this past weekend that the Harry Potter set will be distributed on November 17th as gift with purchase type promotion. I was not told the threshold though. I was also told they weren't allowed to set one aside for me until they physically had them in stock.

Of note, according to their inventory system, my store is only set to get 16 of them. This is much different from when the promotion was at Toys R Us, as at least my local TRU would always have a shelf packed with the promotional set(s).

Yeah, for $19.99 or $24.99, so as to emphasize the rip-offiness that TRU liked to perpetrate on some customers.  (Which I kinda miss, in a counter-intuitive way.)

At lest with TRU I knew they would have them(at least the one I went to), and would have lego sets in stock to make the necessary amount to get it "free". Every B&N I go to has maybe 10 total LEGO Sets in stock.

I would expect to see a marked increase in product - particularly if it is near a former TRU site.

My Barnes and Noble has actually decreased their Lego selection to increase the selection of Toys they can carry...
I did hear $75 from my B&N employees, they did say it may have to be on Lego Harry Potter though...

I have "saved" at least one set from each of the themes I am hoping to get Bricktober sets for in case the promotion is theme- specific. This may be moot though, if we never get the other sets in the U.S. At least at TRU you could buy any Lego.

My nearest B&N has a substantial Lego aisle. It nearly rivals the Target next door at times. A wide range of themes and price points. I've never bought from them, but always check it out just in case a random deal pops up.

My Barnes and Noble has also reduced their Lego footprint to make room for other toys.

As for the Harry Potter Bricktober promotion, I wonder if it needs to be $75 before any discounts. For example, I would be willing to purchase #75955 Hogwarts Express at $79.99 to get the promotion, but my membership would reduce the cost to $71.99.

Would I then have to purchase another item to make sure I end up at $75+ after the membership discount? Has anyone else had experience with a scenario like this at Barnes and Noble? I would think it's $75 before any discount, but it would be good to know before we go.

Their system isn't sophisticated enough to make that distinction I think. Just have them scan the set and the promo before giving them the member ID just to be safe.

I would also suggest waving your hand and repeating: 'This promo applies to all LEGO purchases.'

I purchased a LEGO item which retailed at exactly $29.95 for the mine worker promo, and I used my membership card with no issue.

You've never gone up to the cashier, said, "I expected this to be less," stared at the person for an uncomfortable amount of time, and eventually hadthe cashier relent to giving you the price you want? It's all about positive thinking and confidence.

I feel like an idiot now, but I didn’t realize it was that much of a gift. I didn’t recall the sets being that much last year at Toys R Us for some reason

^I think it used be a $50-60 threshold, it was $75 the last couple of years .

BN is running a promo: "Get a Free $10.00 Barnes & Noble Reward with purchase of $75.00 or more worth of Barnes & Noble Gift Cards or Barnes & Noble eGift Cards in a single transaction at BN.com."

$10 gift card is valid 12/26.

Might as well snag one if you're planning on spending at BN.

It's usually a pretty good deal....if you know your going to spend it there....at least in years past.   I'd buy 2 or 3 gift cards when B & N used to have B1G1 50% off LEGO.   I still have my two #75021 SW Republic Gunships at $119.95plus (25%off) plus 10% membership, plus $20 gift card because I'd spend $150 in gift cards.

The way to use it now would be to wait until Nov 17? to get the Harry Potter minifigures and a $10 gift card for free or a bunch of Brickheadz since their 20% off.  The only problem is it's in multiple transactions....or it's sometimes complicated for the cashier.     But it boils down to buying $75 on a gift card...get a $10 gift card for free and then using that $75 and buying $75worth of LEGO to get the HP minifigures for free.

If you see B&N website it says the 11/17 event is a "Childs Event".....insert your own joke here _____.  Doesn't say if the build is a 'make & take' or a 'build & play'.

Ok so it’s the 17th! Does anyone have any more detail? I take it the $75 GWP deal is a go in most stores? I wonder what kind of inventory they have. Please post your experiences. With the [email protected] GWPs this is going to be a very expensive morning.

At my store (just got home), one of the store workers spent about 15 minutes digging through the back room to find them while I waited with another person.

At the register the lady pointed out that with my 10% member discount my total was now below $75 (I bought the Hogwarts Express) but she decided with the tax it was okay. Good thing!

So, no crowds early on at my store, but the member discount could be a factor. YMMV I guess.

Bought about $90 worth, as I figured the membership would have dropped the total below $75 if I didnt plan.  Got the minifig set no problem.  I did end up getting the $75 gift card right before that Lego transaction in order to score a $10 rewards card bonus, which is good from 12/26/18 to 2/28/19, and used that gift card immediately for the Lego transaction.

My BN had the minifigs behind the till. Maybe 25 of them? The cashiers were aware of the promo. Looks like it’ll work for any Lego purchase over $75.

Also had sales on 30% Lego Batman Movie and 20% Brickheadz. Plus my membership discount applied.

It specifies that the free minifigs deal is for 11/17 only. I’m hoping it’ll be for sale by itself tomorrow. Good luck all!

My store got 13 of them. I had my dad go get one but apparently there selection was so small that they didn't have a single Ninjago or Brickheadz set which were the only thing I was after.... So now I've bought $75 worth of stuff I didn't want because I didn't want to miss out....

I'm so pissed that Toys R Us doesn't exist anymore, they've replaced half their small Lego section with other toys at my local store.

If TRU had them you still would have had to buy X of product, much of it overpriced by TRU, and if you wanted to somehow buy the set it would have been about 20 USD.

Though what is maddening is a store that did not get any larger sets in preparation for the giveaway and appears to be using the promo to clear out the smaller ones.

Just a fyi that people might not be aware of, this minifig pack will be available on Black Friday as well with a $75 Lego purchase.  Saw it on the front page of the leaked Black Friday ad.

Initially, TRU had them priced at $24.99.  So, I'm hoping these eventually show up for a reasonable price for those non-crazy people that won't pay eBay or Bricklink prices.

This is the equivalent of the $9.99 Target minifigure cube.

I went this morning, they had maybe 15-20 sets at my store. They were well aware of the promo, no issues.

I also lucked into into a Friends 41322 for $2 - still tagged full price, very random, but not going to turn that down!

They will also reportedly be available on Nov 22 online with purchase of 75 or more.

True, as I had made that comment above (yesterday) per the leaked black Friday ad.  But was still curious.  We all have stories about various store employees not knowing about promotions, or those which don't follow the rules or make exceptions, etc.
