Oddly enough I got free shipping today unlike last week. It wasn't much then either, but every little helps :)

Got my other parcel from TRU... in the garden under the table. Still not comfortable with delivery guys breaking in to my garden, even/especially to "deliver" packages right where they'll get soaked when it rains (it's an outdoor table and it has a hole in the middle where the parasol (?) goes... :|)

20% off on LEGO at Kruidvat.nl and Kruidvat.be again.

Kruidvat lists mosts sets they offer 10-15% below RRP so this recurring promo brings most of the sets Kruidvat offers - a limited range of smaller sets - down to about 25-35%ish off RRP. Contrary to the previous times this promo ran most sets carried are still in stock at the moment.

I noticed it too, snagged some smaller "opportunity sets" (that I don't really need). The woman behind the counter even pointed out they had road plates as well in another section of the store. Which was nice!

Seems like the JW bricktober set sold out. Anyone got the chance to buy a double of this?
Until when is the kruidvat promo running?
  • KerreKerre Member Posts: 411
@Wardm The Ninjago promo starts tomorrow so everyone that was interested had ample opportunity to get multiples. As long as they were prepared to spend the minimum purchase amount at inflated TRU prices of course.

TBH, I was surprised stock of #5005255 lasted as long as it did. There's certainly less chance of flogging the minifig set for 35-45€ (as was apparently possible with the HP set) and there's generally less interest in JW compared to HP too - but the set was almost available until the end of the promo week. It's even possible TRU pulled the promo anyway today to make sure there's no overlap and to prepare for tomorrow's Ninjago promo. Maybe there's even stock left in that case - especially in physical stores. If that's the true, that stock might be made available for purchase at some point.

Today's officially the last day of the Kruidvat promo, at least according to the BE ad leaflet.

First day of #5005257 promo at TRU DE and NL today. The promotion went live 7 am just like the previous two weeks.

Good luck to those trying find something worthwhile to reatch the minimum gift-with-purchase amount!

^yeah, looks like all cool sets I’m still missing are already sold out. Not going for the Ninjago one though. I’m mad at myself for missing out on the JW one, but I won’t let that happen with the Marvel one!

(not a promotion, but I didn't know where else to put this)
A friend of mine who is an online influencer got the invitation to go to an event in Train World Brussels, where LEGO and Train World would announce 'Big News' on monday 1st of october.
My friend asked my to go, since he isn't available to be present at the event...
Anyone else who heard about this? What could this big news be?

I've seen a picture of ad banner at Train World announcing something Lego. Was curious but have no heard anything more. Huge LEGO train diorama hopefully?
  • KerreKerre Member Posts: 411
^nah, a new earth green train set, SNCB Type 12, confirmed ;)

Anyhoo, 4th and last TRU.nl and TRU.de bricktober minifig week. Buiness as usual: #5005256 priced at 999,99€ until you add a qualifying value of sets to your shopping cart - it then becomes free.

Wasn't going to get it originally but my missus informed me we were running dangeously low on birthday gift favorites #42072 and #42073 so I put an order in.

Thanks for the heads up, I took advantage of this to buy the City Hospital set. It’s price was close to the lowest price ever according to brickwatch.
  • stluxstlux Member Posts: 2,450
Train World should commission Dirk Denoyelle (Belgium's resident LCP) to design a Lego SNCB Type 12! Would be an expensive set, but more likely to see the light of day than an official TLG version...

More likely it will indeed be a Lego diorama; I don't see TLG making a set announcement at Train World. Please report back on October 01 @wardm!

Agreed, it's very likely a diorama. And that probably will be the reason for a family visit to Trainworld.

An update on #5005256 availability at TRU: seems these sold out around lunchtime already. The set shows as unavailable for delivery on the DE site (they were never available for in-store pick-up); on the NL site they're "temporarily unavailable" - typically a stage before the set is pulled from the site altogether like #5005254

For comparison: HP fig stock at least lasted until Monday evening. JW #5005255 lasted almost the whole week as @wardm reported and at this moment it seems you can still get Ninjago minifig set #5005257 .

I'll report back here on the Trainworld announcement!

Missed out on the Marvel bricktober sets, I hope that they'll become available in Belgium through the official LEGO store maybe...? I heard about rumours that they might release the bricktober sets in the US through official LEGO stores in november (but I can't recall where I read about this)

Anyone got a chance to buy two sets of the Marvel and JW ones? I'm happy I was right on time for the HP minifigures, cause they were on top of my list!

Article on De Standaard (in Dutch): http://m.standaard.be/cnt/dmf20180918_03756805

Not really much more details than what @wardm has posted already, but from the language used I think we can be sure it will be a diorama.

Still a mini-chance that Dirk Denoyelle will produce a SNCB Type 12 LCP set to go with the expo ;)

That's one #75218 x-wing at an all time low of €59,49 ordered! Impressive discount, even a bit less than the Amazon uk offer (and Amazon uk does not ship for free to Benelux).

Better wait untill this weekend ordering at Kruidvat!!!
Get 50% off every second toy you buy >> effectively 25% discount on top of current prices. e.g.: You should be able to score 2x #60197 for €142,50

Not sure stock of #75218 and other well-discounts sets will last that long.

Kruidvat has an easy in-store return policy so on the off-chance I can score 2 more of them for 90 €  over the WE I might return the first one.

Do you really need two X-Wings?!?
(I know it comes with two sticker sets for Red-5 as well as Red-3, and off course Luke and Biggs plus two astromechs, but still; in that case you ought to buy as many as were in Red squadron, plus a Kingsize palace to display all that Lego!)
    Just saying ;-)
    ps.
Don't know if I remember correctly!?! Didn't the early eighties Kenner X-Wing come with two sets of stickers too: one pristine; and one with battle damage?!
  • HenkdeVriesHenkdeVries Member Posts: 100
That X-wing was really tempting indeed, but (for once) I decided that the ones I have (#6212 and #75102) are good enough for me. So I went and bought the Arctic sets, they are all below RRP, compared to A-Tembo, which I normally use as reference. So #60192, #60193 and #60195 for 106 Euros instead of at least 150. :D " Steeds verrassend, altijd voordelig" you might say!

@Kerre              AND of course everyone else, but especially Kerre! ;-)
You can order your X-Wing squadron now!  #75218
Superdeal: 50% off every second toy you buy >> effectively 25% discount on top of current prices.
    Star Wars: A New Hope (ep.IV) Red squadron consists of 12 X-Wings 12 x €59,49 is €713,88 minus 25% = €535,41
At Lego [email protected] those same 12 X-Wings would have costed you €1199,88

    ps.
    I just ordered 1 X-Wing and #60204 City Hospital

Wanted to use this current Kruidvat discount to buy a whole bunch of green baseplates (16 in total)

Went to 4 different kruidvat stores in my area: none of them had any.

And you can only order a grand total of 5 per order on their website.
That means I would have to place multiple orders and none of them would get free shipping.

    Disappointed.

So glad I ordered an X-Wing tonight! It is already sold out.
Who was it that ordered all of them!?! ;-)    Was that you @Covi!?
    @Kerre
You would also need 10 additional different astromech droids. It would be fun stripping the paint off 10 helmets, and repainting them somehow to match all the different helmets. You would also need to get 10 fleshy coloured heads with different faces for all the other pilots, and then of-course different stickers for the wings as the set only includes the ones for Red-5 and Red-3.
Anyway I will be happy with my one 'classic' X-Wing. The only other X-Wing I have is Poe's black and orange next generation type, which I think is really beautiful Lego set (even though the shape of the nose of its fuselage is not very movie accurate).
    @Bacchus
Seems to me that 5 baseplates for €31,95 shipping costs included is still €7,95 cheaper than ordering them from Lego [email protected] and an addtion €5,95 shipping cost on top of that (grand total of €13,90) if you won't order anything else to get free shipping!?!

Personally I hardly ever order anything from [email protected] anymore. Tired of paying the benelux tax and the way they handled the black VIP card promos so far has left a sour taste in my mouth so now I find myself ordering there even less.
Amazon.de has saved me a lot of money over the last few years.

Problem with kruidvat is that they limit the amount you can order for baseplates or roadplates to 5 while most other lego items have a maximum of 15 total.
Making the most out of this discount would require me to place 4 seperate orders and pay 15.96 for shipping.
16x6.99=111.84 and 75% of that would make it 83.88 with the discount included. That's 27.96 discount. When you substract the 4x shipping costs it doesnt feel like that good of a deal anymore.
I find that unacceptable when other items can be ordered in larger amounts.
    It simply makes no sense.

Kelcha has the same baseplates for 6.75 a piece and thats close to where I live so I could just drive over there and pick m up if I wanted to and pay no shipping at all. I guess I'll just wait for them to put them on a decent discount and get them there.
    Sorry kruidvat.
There's nothing else kruidvat has to offer that i'm interested in.
All I buy is creator expert, star wars UCS and some of the Ideas sets.
I'm still kinda pissed they got rid of the standard grin on the modular building minifigs so that pretty much tells you what kind of AFOL I am.
  • sid3windrsid3windr Member Posts: 1,460

Great to see some action in the Benelux thread again! It's in times like these - offers with limited availability where a decision has to be made quickly - I heavily depend on fellow bricksetters for not only providing alternate views but also be the voice of reason when having to decide when I happen to not have all my wits about me.

I had to put in my Kruidvat order yesterday morning  while on traveling as I just got offf a plane in Brussels Airport. The long night before had been spent traveling by plane. Just to illustrate how cooked my brain was: I happily bought 3 LEGO magazines at 8,90 CHF each during a layover in Zurich two hours earlier and it turned out these are about 8 EUR each, not the 4 € my brain assumed they cost. There was no excuse at all for that; I travelled via/to Zurich and Switserland many times before; I know the CHF/EUR rate approaches 1:1 for quite a while now,  the Swiss'  high living standards coupled with the high consumer price level is a well-known fact to me.

The sensible option turned out to be one #75218 X-Wing and a #70654 Dieselnaut for a total of a few cents short of 110 €. Considering that means a Free X-wing with the Dieselnaut if you'd be willing to pay ridiculous Benelux LEGO RRP that's a very nice deal.
A special thank you for @TheBigLegoski for letting me see the error of my ways in a funny way - one #75218 is plenty as I also own #6212, #9493, #75102 and  #75109. The one ordered earlier this week goes back to Kruidvat.

A bit annoyed today. Staff at Wijnegem told me the calendar deal was redeemable online online, yet the text online clearly shows it's redeemable in-store as well. I can't get the online store to add the poly to my basket, it just keeps saying "an error has occurred" when I add a qualifying set. Also, the Star Wars figure won't add if my basket has one of the sets for the other deal in my basket. They really need to invest in a better website. And the Wijnegem store needs to get up to speed on the deals, this is the 3rd or 4th time I've made the journey only to return disappointed because either they don't know what they're doing or they haven't received stocks of the freebies.
  • wardmwardm Member Posts: 887
@Aleydita I always make a call before going to Wijnegem to see if they have the promo/set I want. Sometimes they want to put a set in the back for you if you ask nicely! They're always really helpful!
Anyone knows when/if the free minifigure display case will be a GWP at Wijnegem?

So I contacted Lego about the issues I had with the voucher. Yesterday, a member of their customer service team asked me to send an email with a scan of the voucher, and today I received a reply saying, "sorry, the voucher expired two days ago." Well, the request for the scan also came after the expiry date so you guys are just wasting my time? Honestly....

15% on top of selected 'Tech' sets, this time not only on Dreamland, but also collishop. This is Boost, Stormbrining, the Batmobile, an Arctic set, ... All the stuff that's controlable by app. Some sets are already a bit reduced so with the 15% off it might be worth it if you are after anything.

I think it's only with a personolised code not just on any purchase.  Not sure who gets then and who doesn't..
  • KerreKerre Member Posts: 411
If it's a standard Dreamland/Collishop code consisting of one letter+three digits everyone can use it - those are not unique. See code D132 earlier this year on p9 of this thread.

Also earlier this year there was a Colruyt group cross-brand offer where you received a 5€ off voucher for all Collect&Go purchases of 100€; those were 6-character single use codes.
