I'd ask if these guys are for real, but they do appear to be. I mean, there is logic, but...well, really? They're doing this?

They probably just wrap it in a single layer of brown paper and whack a stamp on it.

That's a solid plan.  Packaging materials are super expensive.  I mean have the seen the price of crumpled newspaper recently??
It's not the paper that's the problem it's the air in the packing bubbles..there is a shortage don't you know..

In defense of the hard working folks at the USPS - yes.

This is why I don't collect Faberge Eggs, blown glass figurines or anything from Russia.

(However, any of the USPS employees in this video that aren't wearing uniforms are seasonal help - and they are usually terrible.  But that guy getting run over by the USPSmobile was really funny.)

I particularly enjoy the Fedex Ground Freight shipping!

I generally don't have trouble with USPS, and ship and get hundreds of packages a year. However, UPS and Fedex are COMPLETELY incompetent as to which house in the cul-de-sac is mine. Not like the numbers are on our mailbox or anything.....

    Rant over.

I am in a street/cul-de-sac and have the same issue. I think I have picked up packages at least once from every house in our street/cul-de-sac (10 homes).

    *PETL truck shows up*
*wraps Lego in blankets and strokes it*
"It's ok, nobody is gonna throw you in a nasty old box to get thrown off a truck..."

But seriously, I can't believe no one has tried to pay higher shipping and request proper packaging, something seems fishy. It's almost as idiotic as the infamous "NOS amp tubes"..."dismantled and cleaned"...

But they did put 'rare' in the title.  Unless the definition of 'rare' means 'disposable packaging'.  In that case, I have a ton of very 'rare' LEGO bags.

The "wow" is my favorite part. Wait, no, it's the (LM) after lunar module then never using that acronym again. Why?

Don't you search for "wow" on ebay? I though that was a normal thing people did? XD Unless they want people looking for World of Warcraft stuff to end up there.

I dunno if it's as rare as he claims, but given what sellers of "rare" lego item often asks for, I'm surprised it's not priced over 10000.

I would send it back and tell them straight that they can spend their time with a blow dryer peeling it off. "Ain't nobody got time for dat!" If they fail, it's on them if they can't sell it anymore.
  • KaitchKaitch N. IrelandMember Posts: 325
^While I see your point, such a course of acion might not be such a good idea. You'd also have to consider the scarcity of the set in question. If you send it back, you don't get it. And if it's a set that only crops up every few years, it might actually be better to keep it and do the work yourself. Maybe ask for a partial refund.

But that depends on whether you want to attempt it and put the risk of permanent damage on yourself. There are those that will still make you into "that guy" if you rip it at all, despite what others did to it. It's like restoring artifacts for a museum that somebody knackered, in fact it's identical, so you have to be sure you'll succeed. As Yoda says, "do or do not, there is no try"

This listing is ridiculously deceptive. Right up until the last line of the description when it finally says, "Not original LEGO".
