    I pulled 12 figures from the back left side of an unopened box and got the chase and only one double.

    Did anyone else get tricked into buying two of the new quidditch set? I disliked the thought of essentially playing scrimmage, and with only two players to a team. With two sets, I was able to construct essentially the entire stadium and there are four players to a team. While not at the number it should be (7), I at least have one of each player represented (Seeker, Beater, Chaser, Keeper). Although my personal collection of non-yellow lego heads is particularly lacking, so it's kind of hilarious to see the minifigures up close. (The extra harry/hermione heads etc). The second (ugly) Slytherin player I swapped out the black male hair for a long black female wig. That is one funny-looking character.

    Since I have my own box of CMFs coming, I advised the people in line ahead of me at the Lego Store yesterday to grab the left side of the box if they wanted Graves. They were each planning on just grabbing the 22 figs they were allowed - no feeling of the bags at all.

    Naturally they were out of the Great Hall, Whomping Willow & train sets, so I got the 2 FB sets, one of which is double VIP points.

    I tried to feel for Graves at the back left from a freshly opened box yesterday, but couldn't get a positive ID, so I just went with five other figs I wanted. My girlfriend really liked opening them with me, so I brought her along for a second rummage of the box today, and she found Graves at the back left, even though the staff told us other people had searched the box in the meantime.

    Yeah, I don't know. Graves was kind of hard to find for me because there wasn't anything particularly special about him to look out for, other than being a person with two hair pieces. If you're not paying close attention, you would think it's the same piece you keep finding over and over. Ha!

    Went I to the Glasgow store yesterday afternoon and picked up some CMFs. Seemed to be quite a few adults feeling the packs, but the store was really busy and my daughter was kicking off so just grabbed a handful. Ended up with a Percival Graves amongst others. Did get 3 Neville's though :(

    Finding Percival has to be about the hardest minifig ever to find by feeling. The only other ones that came close were some of the GB 2012 Olympics minifigs - but at least there was plenty of each minifig in a box.

    I struck out on several HP boxes that I'm pretty sure were untouched. My first outing I ended up with the other dude with two hair pieces. I think I finally got tuned in yesterday and got two Percivals just so I can have both face/hair versions.

    I'm considering opening a second Moody for the same reason as above, so I can have both Crouch/Moody on display at the same time. The only reason I'm not desperately looking for a second Percival Graves is that his alt form Grindelwald is in the new #75951 Grindelwald's Escape set.

    I'll explain what I did to find them and maybe that will help! I grabbed a polybag at the front of the store (any will do - grab one from the check lane) and also grabbed one of the new Harry Potter CMF blind packs and found an associate in the toy section.

    I explained how it's always difficult to find new lego polybags when they are released because they share the same DCPI number (target associates will know what this is) as other polybags, and that they aren't for sale on their website. I explained that I was looking for a new harry potter lego polybag, and had the two examples to show what I meant (and specifically, that I was not referring to the new CMFs).

    Furthermore, I did provide the associate with its DCPI number, which is: 204-00-0291. They should be able to plug this into a device they carry with them. They might tell you something about how it shows that they are either on an endcap in the toy section or at the check lanes (or both), but if so, just explain again that what they're seeing you already checked and is likely a different lego bag. Suggest to them that there may be unopened boxes in the back.

    That's really the key - I think Target employees aren't opening the boxes because they aren't aware that it's a new product (since it shares the same number as other products), so until they need to restock empty checklanes/run down current inventory, they won't get opened - unless you go and explain it to them step-by-step.

    Overall, it was kind of a hassle, but the associate was willing to help and I was out of the store in 15 minutes. Hope that helps!

    What's the thought on Hogwarts Great Hall #75954 regarding any likely future discount? I have three reserved from Argos working out at £60 each or 33% off. I want a couple to make a larger build and my daughter wants the third. I'm not that bothered about getting it just now if it's likely to be more heavily discounted in the future, but feel that a third off might be as good as it gets for this set, given how popular it's likely to be. Hard to decide what to do.

    Found the CMFs finally. Went to two other target stores yesterday and one said a vendor hasn’t stocked them. The other actually took time to search for them but found nothing.

    Today, I went to a Barnes and Noble and a lady was stocking Lego...she said they got some boxes a week ago and a business came in and bought every box they had. So I went to Target again and they had put them all on the checkout lanes. They only had 44 packs and the checkout I went to was the lady that stocked them. She said they only had one box and she put out the entire box. I ended up getting the single Graves thankfully but no Newt. 21/22, so the search continues but at least I got Graves.

    Please don't take this the wrong way if you are the type who buys a whole box of cmfs, but I am wondering if more people are buying full boxes on this one. It seems that most places I go to sold out rather quickly. No sign of figures ever being there. I have only seen them at two places. The first where I got 14 that I felt out (and even got Graves) was a heavil picked over box at Barnes, but it looked like it was not picked over by a knowledgeable collector. The second I found the 3 other figures I wanted, but it looked like a new box with only one figure taken at a Target (guess which one was missing). Otherwise it seems like most boxes just dissapeared. So are more people buying full boxes (again nothing wrong if you do)? For me that would not be within my budget constraints (and I like feeling the bags...the fact I got 14 right in one try was impressive...but that said I have never bought 14 at one time either).

    On another note, I just finished building the Hogwarts Express. Did anyone else find the wands a nightmare to get onto the minifigures' hands? I had some very sore fingers after trying to force them in.

    For those who have the Harry Potter with Cloak: was his cloak creased when you opened it? Trying to determine if I just got unlucky, or it goes for all of them.

    @M_Boss I suspect all of them because the cloak was folded in the packet. I put mine inside a book for a few days but didn't sit anything heavy enough on top of it, apparently.

    Fenwicks in Newcastle had about 20 boxes out in three different parts of the store. Also had boxes of series 17 as a buy one, get one free deal. They also still have a few Lobot/Bespin Star Wars planets sets on sale at full retail price!

    ^ I am glad to know that I am not the only Brickset member who has experienced the joys of Fenwick in Newcastle. They have no interest in sticking to release dates so often come up trumps with early sets!

    @Jern92 my son found it difficult to put the wands in the hands at first but I had no problem. I then saw that he was trying to make them hold it at the very bottom, the rounded tip thing. Maybe if you use the next roundy bit it is easier? So not the exact bottom, but the next wider bit above it. He now doesn't have any problems. Hope this helps.

    It still amazes me that a 'business' would come in and buy all the sets.. at retail.. so are these idiots that are buying at retail going home and getting on eBay to make their millions not realizing these will be out for some time??

    LEGO [email protected] has a 'limit' of CMF potter figs set right now at 44. In contrast Unikitty CMF/Blind bags is a limit of 5.
    I think Potter CMFs will be around for a while.

    As for the quick sellout at retail stores, this occurs with many CMF series for some time now. Many buy a whole box to cherry pick what they want and then return what they did not want. I still say that CMF bags should be non-returnable, which would stop this (IMO) unethical practice.

    Ours let the adults build after the kids were done...I rarely ask, because I know these events are mainly for the kids, but I will be first in line when they tell us the adults can build too :D

     I think the rounded end of the wand is supposed to be a ball joint to allow you to point it forward, but it's not perfectly round so it's a bit difficult to get the minifigs to hold 'em. So if you dont mind them just holding the wands upright, go with @snowhitie 's suggestion.

    I found 2 rummaged through boxes at my local Lego store. I decided to give a good feel anyways. I found a Graves plus 2 figures my son wanted. Kinda shocked about the Graves figure. I thought they were picked out because the box looked messy.

    I think Potter CMFs will be around for a while.

    As for the quick sellout at retail stores, this occurs with many CMF series for some time now. Many buy a whole box to cherry pick what they want and then return what they did not want. I still say that CMF bags should be non-returnable, which would stop this (IMO) unethical practice.
    Agree about people who return, but I also think it is just as bad for companies to sell these things blindly for $3.99 sticking you with doubles.  It's all a game from both sides.

    I'd agree with that, ultimately it's down to Lego making one or more figures in a series rare that creates the market. No reason at all why they shouldn't all be individually available.

    I disagree that it is a game from both sides. People know it is a blind pack but still willingly pay for it, or don't. Buying a box and returning those they do not want is just (IMO) unethical behavior as one is then abusing a good faith return policy of the store.
    The fact that LEGO had to put a note in the CMFs line description on their [email protected] page that now says that one could get duplicates and that is out of their control just shows how entitled people feel at this point.

    It would be fabulous if LEGO would just also sell sets of these in general for those that want a set. Still have the blind packs, which I think would still sell well, but finally make them as they were supposed to be: an impulse buy.

    Given that other than at my local Target, they seem to sell out of these pretty frequently, they're doing exactly what they were intended to do.

    I guess it would depend on how you're displaying the minifigures. If Lupin is facing the Dementor, it kinda makes sense for his wand to be pointed at it. As for the others, I guess they could hold the higher grip bit in most situations.

    Popped into the Stratford store this afternoon and managed to find Percival Graves after a few minutes of feeling the bags on the hanging display.  Very happy to find him to complete my set.

    @madforLEGO...it's all a game...its lego...its a toy....nothing any of us really need.  Series 1 we could use bar codes to figure out what is inside...lego adjusted....then bumps, again lego adjusted....now we touch and feel, even people post how the fresh cases are packed...and again, lego adjust, all to get us to continue to buy blindly.  If that's not a game, I dont know what is, lol

    Funny observation today - 8 year-old w/grandfather at Target looking for Harry Potter LEGO.  I overhear the Target employee explaining that Fantastic Beasts is also part of Harry Potter.

    The 8 year-old shuns the FB sets.  'Never heard of it.  I don't want it.'  Thankfully, the employee found a Quiddich Match set.  Crisis averted.

    The Harry Potter stuff definitely looks to be selling fast around me. I noticed that one of the local Tesco has taken their display down as they only seem to have BrickHeadz and the Grindlewald Escape set left.

    I'm becoming more confident of this being a continuing theme for at least the time the Fantastic Beasts films are being released.

    I agree. Its funny though because I know if I searched the forums here I could find plenty of coments from people saying they would never do more Harry Potter sets because kids don't care about Harry Potter anymore. Truthfully I think Harry Potter is an evergreen property that will come in and out similar to Star Wars. I don't think it will be as big as Star Wars, but it is certainly an IP Lego will revisit from time to time.

    ^I've certainly been involved in some of those discussions here on the pro Potter side, but (prior to Fantastic Beasts) conceded that there wasn't enough to keep the series relevant to kids for a continuing theme.

    The staging of this wave does feel like there is probably a plan for more.

    You only have to wonder around Alnwick Castle, where some of the films were shot, to see hoards of young kids obsessed with Harry Potter. It's still exceptionally popular.

    Found the final 2 figures I needed to complete the Harry Potter set today. I’m not interested in the Fantastic Beast figures, only Harry Potter. I did end up finding one Percival Graves at Walmart this morning so I picked it up just because. Also, I was able to get a couple of the HP polybags (30407) at Target which was a nice surprise.

    I received my FB sets with the promotional plants from plants set this evening :D I didn’t realize how addictive it is to purchase sets for extras of specific components, I want a couple thestrals. Now I understand why people sell minifigures etc individually- why buy an entire set multiple times if you only want minimal parts from it?

    I think the big difference now isn't just fantastic beasts but timing. People who grew up reading Harry potter are now old enough to have their own kids and it's something they can all enjoy.  I can see it lasting for a long time.  JK's pile of money is only ever going to get bigger (I have visions of her having a scrooge mcduck style vault)
