    ^Nice! I just missed out on a similar deal from Offer Up this week. $60 for the #60051, plus a bunch of bulk bricks too. Gotta love those deals when you can find them!

    I found a very gently used copy (basically new) of the old Lego Hogwarts board game for $10. It was missing two sand-green cone pieces, which were easily replaced.

    ^Nice find. I've never played the game, but picked up a couple of copies for parts, in particular the frogs and 8x16 tiles.

    Not the greatest find, but I am very happy with it.  Paid $50, all-in, for a box advertised as 12 pounds of Duplo.

    I got 10 straight tracks, 25 curved tracks, 2 switches, 1 bridge, 2 locomotives, a train car, and assorted other train pieces.  That ALONE is worth a lot more than $50.

    I also got the pirate boat, the pirate canon (no rounds though), around 20-25 mini figures (including animals), and assorted other blocks, pieces and parts.

    This was a good buy for me. Hell, I basically got a 10508 set ($120 RRP) PLUS extra track, 2 switches, additional locomotive and a whole lot more.

    Got this #76039 on facebork marketplace, £27.50 delivered... I don't know if it was the deal of the century, but the figures are going for silly prices so I'm pretty happy with it. I don't think I saw this at the time, but I wish I had, not a lot of pieces, but it's a lovely little set.



    I've obviously opened it to check it's not full of rebagged second hand LEGO, used bandages or worse, megabloks!



    I saw someone here who'd opened their boxes this way, and I have to say, I think I'm now fully converted to this method. So, if I got the idea from you, thank you :-).

    Around here, the only boxes you can open that way are the small ones with the thumb tab on the bottom. None of the corrugated boxes are built that way.

    I went to my local Toysrus yesterday with my wife and kids, they had Lego Dimensions 71264 Batman Movie story packs marked down from ~25 US $ to ~4 US $, picked Up all three they had in stock, went to another store and picked up four more there. The other TRU even had discontinued polybags for ~1 $ each.

    Pretty god deals :-)

    That's how I've always opened the boxes for the smaller sets. Honestly, I thought that was how you were meant to do it, so you end up with a convenient lidded tray for the pieces.

    Some dingbat tried to open the box of my #10186 that way, so that box is pretty messed up, but I can’t complain too much since I got it for $30 at a thrift store :)

    Local thrift store had #8527 Mindstorms NXT sitting on the shelf for a month at $99. Got it for $50 on Saturday when they ran 50% off everything in the store. Only missing two Technics pieces, and has a copy of the Unofficial Lego Mindstorms NXT Inventor's Guide in the box.

    Just a follow-up on my previous post.  I got my second big box of Duplos - so this post is referring to the combined contents of both shipments, which I got for $100 total, including shipping costs.

    Train Track
    (58) curved, (17) straight, (2) switches, (1) x-crossing piece, (1) car crossing piece and (1) 4-piece bridge. At fair Brinklink (US) prices, that comes out to about $75, not including any fees or shipping costs.

    Animals
    (2) rabbits, (1) brown cow, (2) brown goats, (1) fat sheep, (1) thin sheep, (1) small elephant, (2) baby polar bears, (1) adult polar bear, (1) white chicken, (1) brown dog, (1) white dog, (1) gray cat, (1) giraffe, (1) Cinderella horse, (1) lion cub, (1) adult triceratops, and (1) baby triceratops.  Even at an average of only $1/each, that's $20, not including any fees or shipping costs. And some of these list for quite a bit more than $1.

    People
    (1) Mickey Mouse, (1) Minnie Mouse, (1) Pirate, (2) firemen, (1) Snow White, (2) hookers (that's what they look like to me), (1) girl, (2) boys with green hats, (1) boy with red hat, (1) boy with blue hat and balloons and (11) men of various descriptions. Even at an average of only $1/each, that's $24 plus $3 for the balloons, so $27 total, not including any fees or shipping costs. And some of these list for quite a bit more than $1.

    So just with that, I am up to about $125, not including any fees or shipping costs.

    THEN, I've got a whole bunch of train pieces and parts, including two red locomotives, 7 black flat cars, 3 cranes and related pieces, two dumper pieces, 9 non-track train cars, etc.  A LOT. AT LEAST $50 in stuff here.

    THEN, I've got vehicles - including three full tractor trailers (including the gas tanker with the sound piece), a helicopter, three motorcycles, a small truck, several small cars, a few truck beds and some other odds and ends. At least another $50.

    Then I've got a whole box (at least 20 pounds, maybe 30) of blocks, curved pieces, plates, doors/windows, specialty pieces, etc. Plus the pirate boat hull. At least $100 in stuff, conservatively.

    Overall, my best estimate is I've got at least $325 in stuff, PLUS shipping costs and fees....which I got for $100.

    Consider me Satisfied (:

    I found nine bags of vintage Lego while thrift shopping. There were quite a few classic space pieces, and I saw one old classic castle helmet. Can't wait to sort through everything to see what I have!

    I quickly went through yesterday's find and found:

    - 10 classic space torsos: 4 red, 3 yellow, and 3 white. Some still have really nice prints.

    - 3 old minifig legs (2 black, 1 red)

    - assorted parts from 6882 Walking Astro Grappler

    - the flag from 6970 Beta Command Base (with one sticker placed upside down)

    - some parts from unknown 4.5V train sets

    - four light grey 2x2x2 support stands (!!!)

    - assorted parts from 6980 Galaxy Commander

    - many pieces from '70s Basic or universal building sets

    - some big wheels and treads from '70s sets

    - a blue epaulette

    - a few modern pieces, like the dark red scorpion from CMF series 3's mummy

    - ...and one vest (and a few parts) from 375/6075, the yellow castle!

    In my exhaustion and from the heat of the day (it was 40°C), I left behind one bag at the store that had one of the old '70s Basic bricks/baseplates, what looked like newer 2x4 bricks, and a handful of common classic space parts (smaller wings and tires). Now I'm haunted by the fact that there could have been x105 visors lurking in there.

    Pro tip: if you put a # in front of the set numbers, they turn into links to the set’s Brickset page when we see them.

    Picked up #75208 today, display said £17 but was charged £26 at the till. Went over to customer services to get the refund and was told I would also recieve double the difference ie £18... so free lego and a £1 in my pocket... Thank you Mr Tesco

    Well I made a mistake but still a bargain to brag about... I paid £8 and that will do for me any day.

    Not the most amazing of deals, but I'm not sure I've posted in this thread before so...

    Picked up #40234 Year of The Rooster in a charity shop for £4.99.  Current value on the set page is £11 so I'm happy with that.  Seal had been cut and the box is a bit bashed but all contents still bagged up, sticker sheet untouched etc.

    So this is just about all the sets that came in my $10 score last week. As you can see there isnt much else left over; remnants of 60002 Fire Truck (2013) & maybe parts of a universal set. Was pleasantly surprised to find 9558!

    ^ Was that toy shop a bit dodgy? According to Brickset, RRP on those bottom two was £0.78 not £4.40. Or is that a typical Isle of Wight markup?

    So someone left these next to the garbage container:

    Pieces are in excellent state, very clean and no scratches. #60091 and #60088 are totally complete, extra pieces included, but the latter one doesn't have its manual.
    Other pieces were also in the mix, like that thing that looks like a boat hull - can someone tell from which set is it? I wasn't able to find it in Brickset or Bricklink...
    Together with these were also... 2 large boxes filled with DUPLO. The girls barely use it nowadays but it may be useful to build displays for Brickheadz.
    And finally, I also managed to get #76097 - Lex Luthor Mech Takedown, new and sealed, for 13.19€ instead of the 44.99€ RRP in Portugal (a 71% discount!).
    Not a bad LEGO day!

    The boat hull is the bottom part of a plane/helicopter. Not sure of set yet.

    @gmonkey76 Thanks! I checked the #3367 manual and, judging by the build that I found, it really seems to be that set. Too bad it wasn't complete, I would love to have it.

    Looking in the clearance aisle at my local Tesco, there were two series 18 CMFs that were half off, one of them was the Classic Police Officer, the packet was slightly dusty but other in good condition.

    I found #75177 online at 51% discount (bol.com) so for €33,99 which made it an impulse buy, but based on the reviews it should be an interesting build, apart from the legs.

    Astrobricks yeah Island mark up price, never seen them before and thought I'd pick them up.
    He also had lots of knock off minifigs.  He got very offended when I turned him down as I didn't want to buy "fake Lego" he had a massive melt down stating that it wasn't  crap plastic.  I just said thanks and left with a smile on my face.
    I did find a few over priced Lego items on the island but also found some really cheap items.  I think its just the Lego effect everyone thinks Lego needs to be sold for a massive amount.
