If I'm looking at this right, I just picked up a helicarrrier and a ghostbusters HQ for $132 each...

Hope this is not some kind of a bug that will have amazon end up canceling my order.

I think there are going to be a lot of cancelled orders, or else I really do have a Brick Bank, Slave 1, Silent Mary, and Ultimate Batmobile heading to me for less than $250.
Considering that was the second year in a row that there were prices like this, I'd say it's possible it happens again, if only for a few minutes.

There were some other deals where $30-$50 sets were had for $10ish. Those seem more likely.

I'd recommend having your top picks narrowed down and then pulling the trigger if/when you see them at rock bottom prices. From what I recall, many of the crazy cheap orders ended up shipping.

Fairly certain the Ferris Wheel also was dropped to 150-160, I think, during Prime day.

    This I think:

The UCS Tie Fighter is currently 76% off, priced at $48.94. Unbelievable deal I think:

Sure it's possible. I'm just telling you it's not gonna happen. I can see one or two sets maybe being heavily discounted. Amazon isn't going to make the mistake twice. It wasn't just LEGO last year. It was a system wide goof.
  • floridabrickfloridabrick Member Posts: 158
^^Thanks, was not aware of that.
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,484
I'm certainly not banking on it. But I'll still be watching it like a hawk and, should the stars align, I'll definitely try my luck at some buys.

I'm expecting to see a handful of 20-40% off deals on Lego, mainly on sets I have no desire to buy.

Looking back at my Amazon Orders for July 10th last year - #10255 for $105, #10253 for $94, #75060 (and #75167) for $80. But it was good on everything. If I'd thought of it, I would've gotten a death star, but I didn't think of it until after my 3 minute panic buying was up and they fixed it. I fully expected them to be cancelled, but they all showed up.

I highly doubt we'll see that again. And other LEGO deals last year were pretty non-existent (except maybe a slight deal on the Ferris Wheel?)

How does Amazon get away with letting exclusives go at such low prices?

I don't think it was Amazon trying to sell them that low as it was a glitch in there system pricing them that low. As @thenos said he was expecting them to be cancelled and I'm sure others on here can contest to their orders being cancelled on similar sets.

I hope my page still loads with all the other people scouting out the UCS MF

I don't mean just the glitch, I mean all the deals on exclusive sets on Prime Day.  I missed it last year, but I will plan for it this year.  I guess TLG lets them do it because they are Amazon.
  • AwesomenessAwesomeness Member Posts: 209
My plan too this year is to hold out on Amazon all day and hopefully catch some of those amazing sets aswell.

My theory for the super low prices: there are Lego hacker angels out there aiming to provide super cheap prices on popular sites to the fellow LEGO builders and collectors.

    yeah. I hope they return.

Amazon will likely have a handful of good LEGO deals. As for the 'glitches'? It would be neat to see, but not holding my breath (plus with all of the recent sales on LEGO and LEGO promos going on my funds are drained right now) Would not mind seeing a large 'exclusive' set get discounted again. Amazon still has stocks of the Classic batcave, would not be surprised for them to nose dive that set to 180 as well sometime during prime day(s).
Plus Im not sure the glitches occurred on Prime day, or 12-24 hours before Prime day started

Is there a reason why Prime Day isn't a fixed one?

    • The first Prime Day was Wednesday, July 15, 2015.
    • The second Prime Day was Tuesday, July 12, 2016.
    • The third Prime Day was a multi-day affair that started late on Monday, July 10, 2017, went through all of Tuesday, July 11, and ended early on Wednesday, July 12.

If you have an AmEx card, 20% off up to $500 if you use at least one MR point. I got the Silent Mary for $112 and a bunch of Batman sets that were already at least 25-30% marked down to 40-45% off. Works multiple times, too. You need to activate it. Not sure how to link it, quick Google search will find it.

I recently found out about that AmEx card discount but it turns out not all cards are eligible.  I don't have the link handy either but if you go through the activation process, it will let you know if your card is eligible or not.  Unfortunately, mine wasn't.  :(

Australian Amazon Prime day has been running for around 18 hrs. Some 50% off on small sets and the boost starter set have popped up here and there (though none for about the last 6 hrs - midnight to 6 am). I expect the Us Amazon to be similar.
Don't quote me - I was not a member of Amazon 24 hrs ago...

As Switchfoot55 mentioned, these are the only Lego deals I'm seeing right now.

Also, be aware that Amazon was/is having some high-traffic issues (503 errors, checkout not working). (Edit: I see others have already mentioned this.)
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,484
I've already tried adding other non-listed items to my cart to see if the 20% comes off at that point, but no luck so far. That was one of the ways some got such good deals in years past. And it would stack multiple times on the same item.

May be worth trying if there is a set you're really after.

So is that it? Is everything that's listed now the only deals we are going to see today?

If anyone more familiar with prime day deals can chime in, it would be appreciated.

We were all hoping for the glitch again. It's looking like there might be lightning deals, but I wouldn't count on much.
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,484
^For the fact that my search of Lego in "Prime Day" deals has grown from two items to the six shown in the screen shot several posts above, it's possible other items will be added throughout the next 36 hours. Or, as mentioned above, some lightning deals throughout that same time frame.

Unless someone finds a glitch in the discounts applying to non-prime listed items, then that's probably it.

I did see a number of sets not listed for Prime that were anywhere between 10-30% off, but those deals are more standard at this point among all retailers.
