I've found what looked like a dark bluish grey 2x3 plate, but it's actually a little bit lighter than usual. Anyone know what's going on with it? It's very uniformly coloured all over, so I don't think it's faded. The picture shows the off colour in the centre, with a DBG plate to the left and a LBG plate to the right. It's slightly more noticeable that the photo shows.

It's just a slight color variance, which is normal if you want to say it that way. Grey bricks don't fade by the way, they "yellow" when exposed to the sun.

@TheMaker37 It is from Rock Raiders. I think it came in two different sets. #4990 or #4950

It seems more outside the usual variance for dark bluish grey. It's more obvious irl, unfortunately the camera's not picked it up so well but it has a kind of milky white sheen to it. And yeah, seen plenty of yellowed elements, and have thousands of dbg pieces, but none of them have this tone to them!

I remember a lot of new sets from 2004 or so having milky/faded looking parts in all kinds of colors. I think that was around when LEGO switched from buying pre-colored granulate to mixing colorless granulate and dyes in their own factories so they had some kinks to work out. The specific set I most remember this problem with was https://brickset.com/sets/10167-1/LEGO-BrickMaster-Welcome-Kit… a lot of the yellow, red, blue, and gray parts could easily be divided into "rich color" and "faded color". It was also a problem with parts from 2004 Bionicle sets in colors like Earth Blue (Dark Blue), Brown (Dark Flesh), Dark Red, etc.

I thought this minifigure body looked cool and have been searching for 2 days on bricklink but I can’t figure it out. Any ideas?

^That is most definitely not Lego. Or rather, it seems to look like custom print on Lego parts. Nice custom though.

^I'd agree with @FowlerBricks. I can't recall a similar torso or legs. With the printing on the arms as well, I'd guess a nice custom print.

Hmmm, says lego on the top of the head peg
  • blosky2001blosky2001 Member Posts: 16
Guess I won’t be able to figure out which head it’s supposed to have :(
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,356
^The parts are likely genuine Lego, but the print was done after purchasing.

^It's an ancient Chinese secret. No just Googled custom lego gray knight, and then looked at images.

Has anyone seen this before? It was on a bottle of Coke in Japan when the soccer World Cup was held there. My friend is a huge Coke collector and just sent me pics as he's downscaling his collection. At first I thought it was a Lego clone brand but then I spotted the Lego reference in the text on the back. No Lego logos anywhere though which is very odd.

I know there were a bunch of Lego polybags featuring all the items on the back of this packet. Maybe once you open the pictured outer packet there's a polybag inside?

    Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

Right, here's one for you Lego detectives!

I used to think that BL listed every single part ever produced by Lego - even Q list parts.

A few months ago I started to update the list of parts in my Palace of Westminster model. I already had a list, but I realised I'd missed quite a few parts off it, so I spent a bit of time listing all the ones I'd missed.

This week I decided to update the list I have on display next to the model, and to my surprise, there was a part I'd noted down which wasn't on Bricklink. I made a mental note to check that this weekend.

So this evening I set up the model at a show, and decided to check. Lo and behold, my model does indeed have a 2x10 Sand Green plate in it, which isn't listed on BL.

So I'm wondering if any of you may have any idea where I might have got it from? Because I have no clue at all!

^Well, all initial searches have proved unfruitful. I don't have a lot of knowledge on "test" pieces, so maybe that?

I did find it listed on Brick Owl, but not set number attached.

My hunch is that it was from a Certified Professional set? I'm searching through some lists I have to see if anything catches my eye.

No chance it's just a perfectly faded Bright Green?
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,268
^ yes I saw it on Brickowl, but none for sale, and none have ever been sold on there, so I can only assume that none have ever been listed.

I've never bought any CP sets...

No chance at all, it's absolutely Sand Green.
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,356
Look @Paperballpark, when a Maersk Blue 2x10 and Green 2x10 really love each other...

Maybe you have been visited by the Sand Green fairy?

I suspect i have some clone parts infecting my LEGO, what do you think?

The two on the left are "proper" 6L bars with stop ring, part 63965 or 18274. These other 4 are neither 6L or 7L long, nor are they a complete number of plates long.

    I smell a rat!
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,356
@omnium, could they be part 4095, Bar 6.6L w/ Stop Ring? AKA, Patio Umbrella Stand?

The ones on the right are legitimate, 4211887, Standard 03.18x53. 28 of them in the original UCS Millennium Falcon, #10179, for instance! Maybe they redesigned them precisely BECAUSE they aren't a whole number of studs long?

Ah-ha! @Switchfoot55, thanks! Yes, that looks like the part! So it *is* real LEGO afterall. Wow, I nearly threw it away :-O
    I'm glad I asked now.

I think they were originally for Scala or Belville umbrellas or something like that hence the weird size.

@Paperballpark ignore as you see fit (due to the  fact I'm highly medicated, brain damaged and have spent the majority of my search with the night shift function on the phone on, I don't think that plate is Sand Green, I believe it's Light Green and circa early nineties ( though I'm yet to find a reference).

I do know the difference between Sand Green and Light Green y'know... This is very definitely Sand Green, and indeed that can be seen clearly in the photo.

i think they are custom prints. but there are German soldiers. there is some similar in a google search

Definitely custom prints. The one on the far right goes too far up the body to make it past Lego's quality control. Also, Lego explicitly avoid making anything war-related.
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,531
Thought maybe Indiana Jones Nazis would be similar? But I haven't looked at those sets in a while... In any case, these look very 'custom'.
  • wardward Member Posts: 21
They are not from Indiana Jones. I think indeed they are custom, I found a few more in the lot that look like army figures. Baby_Yoda: I didn't know about that signature of custom, indeed the print goes even up on top. Thanks all!
  • datsunrobbiedatsunrobbie Member Posts: 1,818
At first glance I thought they were from COBI, because they have figures with very similar printing, but most of the COBI figure I have seen have more rounded shoulders than these.
