Brickset Bonusball Bonanza - Legboy editon - UK draw 09/06/2108

edited June 2018 in Everything else LEGO
This week a prize is being provided by @Legoboy but since he's pretty busy I'm doing the hosting.

For those who don’t know the rules, write your answer below and the first 59 entrants will get a number. This is open worldwide.  The bonus ball from the UK lottery on Saturday night will decide the winner.

Last week I wanted to know you favourite kind of MOC, the main site is looking for your favourite minifigure, I first thought to ask you what your favourite set of all time is. However, that's been done. Now I want to know, which set do you like best, purely on aesthetics. Here, you can also use a set you don't own or haven't build. Just purely, which set would you like to put on display somewhere, just to look at it (not to brag about it, so it doesn't have to be a big or elaborate set).

Please no double posts untill 59 has been reached. Good luck one and all!

I love giant robots, so I'll say #4508 Titan XP, which I already have on display :) The model isn't quite as stable as I would like, and I do think the use of minifigure legs as fingers is a little weird looking, but I guess it was an innovative parts usage and the best they could do at the time.

Thanks for hosting, @snowhitie and @Legoboy!

I don't have one yet, let alone two, but I'd like a pair of #21041 Great Wall of China on display.

Having anything on display for any length of time is not an option at our house due to space constraints but have managed to keep the Ship in a bottle on display for a while now with the bosses blessing and we both really like it.

On that note, I haven't built any of the large Lego ships but would love to have a display of #10210 Imperial Flagship, the Black Pearl, Metalbeards Sea Cow, Queen Anne's Revenge and Destiny's Bounty. There's just something about the look of old style ships that even a Sci-Fi junkie like me can appreciate. (If I have to just pick just one, it'll have to be Destiny's Bounty as thats the only one of the above i actually own). :)

Thanks @snowhitie for hosting via @Legoboy.

#21309 - Saturn V, I started saving for that as soon as it won the ideas vote, then when it came along, it really didn't disappoint.
A quick bonus vote for my old #182 train set which I had as a kid (and still have).

While not technically a set in some ways, I get a lot of enjoyment out of seeing one or more of the earlier CMF sets on display.

thanks to @snowhitie for managing and @Legoboy for hosting.

#10210 Imperial Flagship. I love that one. I've added several more soldiers and canons to make it even better!

UCS Imperial Shuttle. It almost doesn't look like it's made from Lego.

    Sod it!  I’m taking part.

Right now on aesthetics only, #42077.  Just waiting for my alternative stickers to give it her facelift.

This is tricky... I think on balance I agree with @Lobot, UCS Slave 1.

Honourable mentions though: #928, #4483, #75192, and The original movie Ghostbuster sets. I could add to that list all too easily. Assembly Square?

    Thanks for hosting!

I've always loved the Time Machine build from #20215 Master Builder Academy Invention Designer. I think I need to put it together now.

#42083 Chiron is my answer. While it has a few ghastly gaps, it still is my favorite when it comes to looks.
  • benbacardibenbacardi Member Posts: 712
Definitely Wall-E. With the neck fixed, he just looks awesome. That and the Saturn V are the only sets I do have on display.

    Thanks for hosting @Legoboy !

That's such a tough question. There are so many sets I like, but currently I'd say the TRON: Legacy is one of my favorites. I love the illusion of motion that the Lightcycles have, along with the neon colors contrasting the black. Plus I'm a huge fan of TRON: Legacy! :D

Got to be the ideas Birds and Yellow Submarine from recent sets, but also #6692 hits me right in the feels.

I love the Ideas Yellow Submarine set so much. And I have yet to build the Apollo set, but that’s a great display set too...

I'd have to say #21309 Saturn V, my friend has one and it looks amazing, but I probably won't buy one because I don't have a very good place to put it

I have a couple of Ninjago sets, but space permitting I'd have the city, docks and the temple of Airjitzu on display. The colours and style of building are brilliant.

Saturn V. The most fun I’ve had building a set, and it’s size makes it a good display piece

I think tower bridge would look great on display, the brighter colours of it compared to other dark, grey architecture allow it to stand out more. The amount of detail also helps!

I can't just pick one, so here's three I'd enjoy looking at:

THE set that defined my love of LEGO: #375-2 Yellow Castle. I'll never forget the moment I first saw it. Immense imagination ignition. :o)

The set I've always wanted to own, build and display, and am working my way towards: #10196 Grand Carousel, obviously! Still need more #2449 in dark red.

And the set I'm staring at right now, that has been built and displayed for the longest time: Jamie Berard's #10214 Tower Bridge. It rocks and epitomises my love of London. :o)  Thanks Jamie!
