Susan Bones in the Great Hall set is Hufflepuff. I was hoping for a Cho Chang or Hogwarts uniformed Luna to give us a Ravenclaw but no such luck yet

I'm very much looking forward to a Luna minifig, however Cho and Luna are Year 4 and 5 characters. As these sets cover Years 1-3, they might still show up in a future wave.

Indeed, just unfortunate there’s no Ravenclaw yet, those stands in there Quiddich set need populating :-P

Those prices actually seem reasonable. 500 parts for $40 - 8c a part for a licensed set. Even the train is 10c a part.

I've spent the last few years trying to complete my HP minifig collection (my aim was to get one of every character, but not necessarily every variant). I finally finished it last year...I swear if they release Mad-Eye, Umbridge, and Trelawney in the CMF line I'll cry!

I imagine they will at some stage, and they'll be better prints too!

    It's always the way.

Pretty sweet we're getting a train.  I thought it looked small at first, but I think it is full sized

It looks great but only one passenger car is a bit disappointing.  Hopefully nothing too unique in the build so additional cars can be BL'd reasonably

^Bah humbug to your film correction. :-P

Obviously I realise that LEGO has based most of the HP stuff off the films kcouple of very early sets seemed to take inspiration from the books) but I always think of the franchise in terms of books not films
Maybe I am wrong, and these are based on the books rather than the movies. Why? They have named Lucian Bole in the description and he wasn't named (doesn't appear in the credits) in the cast of the movie.

Although they will probably have the Warner Bros name on the box.

That's fairly standard for a lego train though, it keeps the cost down without taking away playability.

IMO The train for 79.99 is not a bad deal actually, not for a licensed set.

    Presumably the D2C castle?
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
It would make sense for them to put holes in standardised places so no matter which sets you buy, you can attach them together. Not everyone will buy everything so being able to combine what you have together will be an issue.

Oh God... I'm going to need a loan lol. These are all wonderful. Is that Neville's Grandma in the box or the Snape Boggart? (RIP Toys R Us) :D Are these all set for an August release?
  • LegolisLegolis Member Posts: 248
Quick noob question, will someone on here be selling sealed CMF boxes for the HP series like they did with series 18? I know it's probably impossible to answer but how much would one of those go for?
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
CMF boxes can be picked up in supermarkets at a cost of 60x RRP for a figure, so £180. You normally need to ask if you want a sealed one.
  • LegolisLegolis Member Posts: 248

Well the most expensive set will be the grand hall at 99 USD? not bad for a line, and they will likely be on sale at some point. The killer will be the UCS Castle if they are making it, and at the rumored 499.99 USD

I actually prefer the dimensions versions of Newt and Tina.....I assume they come with the yet to be seen Suitcase set (where we will probably get the Niffler fig too).
  • BrickByBrickBrickByBrick Member Posts: 747
^I agree. I do like this Newt's torso, but still not better than the Dimensions one. The seemed like they were much higher quality
  • J0rgenJ0rgen Member Posts: 591
So... The CMFs appear to be from all films. Seeing as we get a loose Voldy*, Umbridge and Slughorn, what does this signal for the continuation of the theme? If there actually is a huge UCS castle in the works, what will be left to do if most of the major characters from later films have already been released?

*If that is a legit fig. It looks like very poor quality...
  • LuLegoLuLego Member Posts: 1,010
It’s a poor photo but the printing on Voldemort could be quite intricate.

I’m confident Lego will do this series justice.

surely the full set will leak soon?

They'll repeat characters. Just look at LOTR and the appearances of Frodo, Gimli, Legolas and Aragorn.
  • J0rgenJ0rgen Member Posts: 591
Sure. We already know Harry, Ron and Hermione appear in every upcoming set, but looking at HP historically, the only characters they tend to repeat are the trio, Malfoy, Hagrid, Dumbledore and Voldemort, so while I don't doubt we'll see Voldy appear in future sets, I'm not so sure about characters like Umbridge, Slughorn, or other lesser characters that will be part of the CMF series.

Love all the new hp sets, look really good and have improved and changed many parts from the other editions of these sets

I don't think we've seen this yet (cue the UCS Hogwarts rumours!):

I think the CMF series is the game changer this time around. It wouldn't surprise me if there are more repeats compared to previous HP sets, because of characters appearing in both sets and the CMF, especially if they are in hard to find sets only (like if the TRU weren't released in US, UK and Germany).

    Those spiders look new.

The tree is very similar to the Mirkwood Elf polybag. Maybe they should have re-issued the Shelob set, replacing the LOTR figures with HP ones.
  • PapaBearPapaBear Member Posts: 639
Shelob is probably the best LEGO spider I have seen, but I am glad to get new ones.  These look good
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
The spiders were introduced in last years City Jungle theme but I think this is a new colour for them.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
    Yep, you're right.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
I'm guessing that's a relatively low price point set (around £20) so I think Aragog would have looked better bigger but i think the design is good with the size restriction in mind.

The head on this one is much more movie accurate than the previous versions.

I think that using this and Shelob as a starting point could make it easy to make a movie accurate Aragog.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
Shelob was only £20 RRP and was available for quite a while for £10-12. Given that the minifigures in this one are repeats, I cannot see this set being that popular and so I guess it will be discounted.

These are going to look amazing all hooked together with the D2C. A little mocing of details and scenary and you will have a stunning display.

I really need to start raising funds for these. I have ideas about really "getting on board the Hogwarts Express" (so to speak) with this theme. I'm hoping the sets we haven't seen are as fantastic as these and I genuinely have high hopes as a result of how appealing these sets are.
I've often wanted to get LEGO train sets in the past, mainly when I was a boy but the odd anachronistic steam train has tempted me as an adult... this time, I think I will give into temptation, I'm planning on buying train tracks and moc-ing a Hogsmead station too!

I really, really hope there's a few waves in store for us, and not just to coincide with the adventures of Newt.
A Hogsmead set akin to Diagon Alley or #10193 really appeals to me, as does a Privet Drive.

Definitely in danger of getting over-excited.

It will probably need a significant modification based on the size of the tender. Unless new battery boxes can fit inside it.

There is also no track, so I assume this has been designed simply as a push along the floor type train.
