12 Unikitty blind bag figures! Different colours /variants which Zusammengebaut say means they can't be identified by feel. Available August, exclusive to Lego stores and online.

4 Unikitty sets and 2 Powerpuff girls sets also Lego exclusives (in Europe at least).

So what Unikitty variants do you want to see?

I'd like a red and green Christmas Unikitty, a purple/black Unikitty, a white/light trans blue Unikitty, maybe a tropical themed Unikitty...
Oooh, the possibilities!!

I wonder if @MinifiguresPlus will have the blind bags?

I want them all but if you can't feel them out there's gonna be an issue... or at least buying opened bags for me.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,551
I wonder why they have to go down the blind bag route for these too. They already have a blind collectable minifigures series, and they managed to do the Mixels and the Friends Animals series as named bags.

wonder if there will be enough variability for a pocket scale like the CMF

Oooh, neat - I've been rather digging the telly show, so I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some of these...

    ...oh. Oh dearie me.

Well if they can't be identified by feeling, hopefully you can use the dot codes, although as we've seen from CMF collections they might differ accross continents.

I think unikitty is well fun, but I hope I'm going to be able to resist these.

Well, the cartoon has thus far added a sad Unikitty, a bored Unikitty, and a new Angry Kitty variant, among others.

I've not been watching the show, but I would totally buy a Shining Mecha Kitty Turbo V set.

so that would be 13 pieces per bag including 3/4 printed ones. so that should cost 2€ max. I don't have a single unikitty anyway, I guess if I wanted one, I would have bought one long ago.

If there are blind bags I can deal fine with this. One of my local retailers will probably open up some bags and reseal them so you know you're buying a full set. That way I'm also not depriving other people and kids from buying them, unlike a few people that buy the whole stock of CMFs from a store in one go.

Saw this on Eurobricks. Unsure if legit, as those prices aren't typical RRPs for Lego sets, but intriguing nonetheless!

    41451 Cloud Car 1 £12.50

    41452 Puppycorn Trike £12.50

    41453 Unikitty Party £29.50

    41454 Dr Foxs Lab £34.00

    41455 Unikitty Bucket £39.00

Thanks for the heads-up, I usually use NoScript on my browser so I sometimes am unaware if they do stuff like that.

Given TLG's press release we will hopefully see a reveal on these over this weekend. At least one set reveal would be interesting to see the approach

It's odd to me that these weren't released with the launch of the show.  (Maybe some TLG bet-hedging?)

@ricecake Haven't seen the show either, but they better make it a combiner set with that color scheme.

I'd like to see a Halloween unikitty and friends.

Those hands look suspiciously like red bigfig hands in the illustration. Maybe red gauntlets?

Or possibly the mid-size fists from Mr. Freeze's mech in the Lego Batman Movie. The advantage there (over the Chima gauntlet piece) is having an easier connection point to work with and being able to grip accessories.

You worded that incorrectly. Here is what you should have said: I find the lack of Hawkodile's Dojo/Treehouse disturbing.

Given the shape of the recessed palm, I suspect that they're just standard bigfig hands. What I'm more curious about is what Dr. Fox's head is like, since that appears to use a new piece (there's a 2x4x2 Duplo brick with a similar oval shape but it has no System counterpart that I know of).

The Unikitty blind bagged series has been put in the database as Collectable Minifigures.

    https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Unikitty!/subtheme-Collectable-Minifigures-series-1

These do not contain any minifigures, and lego doesn't refer to them as Minifigures. They call them characters. Can the Minifigures name be dropped?

Yeah these should be their own thing like Mixels etc.
  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,330
I am sure the name will be updated when released, they are not under collectable minifigures they are under the unikitty theme so it could be worse they could have been put as CMFs.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,116
    I think they were originally.

I'll update the subtheme to something more appropriate shortly.

^ I can see why they were, they are more like CMFs then Mixels and they use the same blind bags with one character in each.

If Lego wanted to drive us all crazy they could put a unikitty in the Lego Movie 2 CMF series.

I don't think they have ever done a non-minifigure in a CMF and I hope they don't. Obviously not all have a standard head or torso or legs, with Maggie Simpson being the most non-minifigure like coming with both a non-traditional head and torso and no "normal" minfiigure parts except the arms and hands.

Given that LEGO don't describe the characters such as Unikitty or even R2-D2 as minifigures in their set descriptions, I doubt they would ever include a brick built character in a CMF, unless it is as an accessory to a minifigure.

According to Bricksfans the Unikitty sets have been spotted already in the UK as a Tesco exclusive. Sets are listed online at Tesco direct but not currently in stock. Fairground appears to be RRP £40, same as the bucket.
Other sets range from £13-35 in price.

I would float a guess that those folks hold a similar opinion of Friends, Nexo Knights and just about anything that isn't a classic Pirate, Castle or City set...

As an aside, I was so disappointed in some of the comments on the Brickset main site article about the figures though, people saying that they hope the theme flops and AFOLs won't buy them and the parts are useless for MOCs, etc. Why can't people live and let live? There's lots of Lego sets that I am not interested in but I don't go around ranting and raving because, each to their own.
I'm really looking forward to making some crazy MOCs with the new kitties and parts.
I think it has to do with the fact that this is “replacing” another CMF series.
  • SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,230
It's just replacing Mixels.  I can do without so many CMFs...

Yeah. For the most part the parts are going to be useless for MOCs (except that new neck/tile) but I agree, I hope they do OK. Life would be boring if everyone wanted the same sets - for a start LEGO would only come in shades of greys, tans and natural colours if I got my way!

It isn't a fact, is it? I thought that these were in addition to the CMF series, not instead of.

I hear many saying that all the minifigs are the same in this set. Closer inspection, for those of us who "feel" our way to a collection, should note that there are 3 different figs we are feeling for, and not 1. There are a number of dogs (look at the ears), sitting kitties (uses the sloped roof brick) and standing kitties in this set. True, people are going to end up with doubles, but not all hope is lost.

As for using parts for MOCs, these printed pieces allow for some great opportunity to move beyond normal MOCing and into a bit of a color-artistic motif. Yeah, I'm excited for doubles now... Up until this point, the only value I saw in Unikitty was the classic space arch from Benny's spaceship.

I agree.  On the main page people were talking about the show not doing well, poor ratings, not interested, etc etc.  Yeah, but this series isn't meant for AFOL's.  The fact that AFOL websites report on it doesn't mean we're the target audience.  I watched a few episodes, and while it wasn't all that interesting, it wasn't made for me.  I hope these do well, if nothing else because I don't want to see Lego stumble.  It's not like Unikitty is taking over all of Lego and replacing everything.  It's also ok if they take a break from the regular CMF line for a wave or two.  They're fun sets with fun pieces.

As far as I'm concerned, the more themes I don't like, the better. Although those are very few and far between. I was resisting Speed champions, but that has started sucking me in. Juniors was an obvious pass but now I'm going to have to pick some of those up due to Jurassic Park and The Incredibles. The only theme I can think of that's still a solid pass is Minecraft - but I even have a few of those for parts. I was hoping Lego was going to make it easier to pass on the Unikitty theme, but that's looking increasingly unlikely.

Where is the evidence of this? From the leaks information, they are continuing with three CMF sets per year.

Although, the "regular" CMF line is well and truly broken now that 2 out of 3 each year appear to be licensed.

^ Only thing I like about that is that now we get a series 16 in 2016, series 17 in 2017, series 18 in 2018, etc... I hope they keep at it, because if they went just 1 year with two numbered series it would really irritate me...

The entitlement of some AFOLs is bizarre. There's nothing wrong with it being mentioned on these kind of sites. Heck, some AFOLs will have kids and be interested to know what new sets are out there to draw their impressionable young minds deeper into the world of LEGO.

Apparently, it's really hard for some people to just ignore the stuff they don't like. When someone comments "I have no interest in this line, I won't be getting it", I guess they're just trying to increase their number of posts? I feel like responding, "Well, we weren't talking to you, so shut up!" I feel the purpose of Brickset is, basically, "everything LEGO"... so who would decide what to leave out?
