I have made a deal with the devil (aka the wife) that I will not purchase any LEGO related items till 31st March*

*One caveat that I have managed to add in was that “if” there are any Black VIP card deals during this period then I am allowed to get these.

Its going to be hard to do. But a deal is a deal.

March 27, 2015 to December 27, 2015. Thanks to the Force Awakens, these voices in my head told me to buy something, so I bought 75099 (Rey's Tractor) which lead to me spending over $300 on LEGO within the next week.

I have bought nothing so far this year, it's part of my New Years Resolution list. The only thing I plan on getting is the diner and promo set at the end of the month and I have all the points I need to get them free. After that I have given Lego the heave ho for the year. Will be dumping lots of sets on Ebay this year.

Renegotiation of the deal. I haven’t fell at the first hurdle ;)

Other than the Batman series 2 CMFs, I’m hoping to last until the next double points sale at least. I want to continue to pump the brakes this year. There are a few random minifigs my kids want, the Diner, some of the Creator 3 in 1, Tron, Voltron if it happens, and then there’s Harry Potter later this year.

Please Lego, please don’t come out with anything else awesome.

Not counting a trade, I’m at about a month since my last true purchase. I’ve massively narrowed my wants for 2018 as well. Let’s see if I stick to it. The Diner, Millenium Falcon (no, not the big guy; actually the one from Solo), and some specific minifigs. The problem will come when the JW and HP sets come out. I’ll want all of those.

then TRU announced it was liquidating.

And the 99cent Stores started carrying the new Dimension sets.

Finally, I had Target gift cards given to me and they had $5.99 Rey and Kyle Brickheadz.

To be honest I'm not 100% sure. I'm guessing probably a few months. As of right now, I'm currently saving up for a few sets and should hopefully get them soon. The last set I purchased was #76086, The Knightcrawler Attack set in the Justice League line.

I didn't get into LEGO until I was an adult so 34 years. Then in 2010 I bought all the old HP sets and a few pirate sets. Then I stopped again for another 2.5 years because I was busy with other things. Since I have started buying regularly again, I usually go a quarter without buying. I am caught up in almost all the themes I get regularly so I only buy more LEGO when the new releases come out each quarter. However the past 2 years when I was getting caught up, I bought at least twice a month.

I've been on a Mega Construx kick lately, but I'd consider that Lego related. I've been good so far this month about not spending money on them, though I made let's build videos (Brick Building Fun on Youtube), so I have to keep a steady stream of builds coming out twice a week. But I have videos scheduled through April, so I can save up for a splurge in May. ;)

For me it's basically from one 2x VIP points bonus to the next one. Last years I somehow improved my self-control and reduced Day 1 purchases to almost non-existent by always waiting for the double VIP promo.

As a TFOL, that's really not something to be proud of. For me? Well, waaay back when I was saving for #7965 I went roughly three months - six to save up, broken in half by one bargain Space purchase. Those were some rough times. My aunt bet I couldn't take a KFC box to school as my bag for the whole week, so I have to partially thank her.

56 days back in June/July '16. Then 42 days in June/July last year. Average appears to be 10-14 days. Wonder what it is about June/July?

Been since August that I have bought any Lego.

Problem is, I collect Lego, TransFormers and Marvel Legends and I'm used to seeing the same sets sitting for so long that I put those two lines as a priority for what little free spending money I have.

The only downside is that when I finally get around to buying Lego anymore, the sets I were my eye on for some reason just stop being on the shelf. And I literally mean as in I saw the set last week while getting groceries.

At first I thought it was seasonal (too cold to shop?) but then I realised it's probably because June 1st is always a big release day for TLG so I probably just spend too much and then have to rein it in for a bit.
