^I wish my local charity shops had Lego more often! The only Lego I've gotten there is the old Creator game for like 10 cents. It was complete too.

It's not very common, this was hiding among the children's games. Usually the Lego gets put in a case with a price tag to match original RRP, so I was pretty surprised :D

10 cents is a pretty epic price for all the parts in the creator game, so you did well there :)

From a 20-year-old coworker in his Dark Ages: #7623 Temple escape, missing the plane and the ball; #7657 AT-ST; #7659 Imperial Landing Craft; #7661 Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Booster Ring- ring only, missing the fighter; #7671 AT-AP Walker. All the minifigures are missing, but the rest of the parts look complete, or nearly so. Also the Sterilite tub with lid they were stored in... all for $20!

Did you warn him that in about 7-10 years he would probably want these back?

I got 75190 First Order Star Destroyer for $70 on LetGo. Apparently the seller has other LEGO sets they are willing to sell for significantly reduced prices.
Buyer beware- that's often (almost always) stolen merchandise. I would not recommend purchasing anything else from that seller.
Yes, even if the seller got lucky and found it for half price at Walmart like I did, they’d still have to be selling for $80 or higher to make any money.

Just got given a #40228 by my wife friend who found it in a charity shop for the grand sum of £0.50p.
Geoffrey looks to be complete & the incomplete car was a little bonus in the box as well.
    Can't grumble at 50p eh.....

:o  US, by any chance?  Or was it like a one-off type ad?

I assume @arathemis was referring to something more along the lines of craigslist as opposed to an actual retail ad.

    Yeah, I realized after I posted.  My sister is looking for a PR and would have been very very excited, so I was in a rush hoping it was a wider deal I could take advantage of ;_;
  • arathemisarathemis Member Posts: 604
Yes it was a craigslist type of add. The guy works for a company that has some kind of partneeship with TLG. Last Christmas TLG sent to each of their employees a 150€ set as a thank you for their help. This particular guy is not much into lego so he sold it to me. I got the fishing house for the same deal for a friend of mine from one of his coleagues.

So, I built giant man minus the parts I didn't have and then bricklinked the rest (including the sticker sheet) because I didn't want to pay like $20 for him on eBay. So I ended up getting him for like three or four dollars. Now I just wait for the rest to arrive.
i hope this post belongs here

Found this in a backwoods Walmart in Missouri. I'd had good luck at this same store, but nothing like this. Picked it up for $13.

The Toys R Us near me is closing. Decided to check and of course the Lego was not discounted yet. They did have a SHIELD Helicarrier there which I thought was odd. Price checked it and it rang up for $180. Decided it was a big enough discount for me as I had avoided buying it when it first came out due to its price.

My 6 year old was lucky enough to get this little guy at checkout on Sunday at Lego Live NYC. Had a really great time. Our first limited edition minigif. Not opening this guy.

Found the Mission: Impossible level packs for $8 at my local Walmart and couldn't pass it up. That was one of the ones I really wanted, but I couldn't justify spending $30 on it.

Its tempting but considering its already reaching $50-$70 on ebay i may hold out. Or keep it and wait till we have a bunch of rare-ish items and open them in a video. Just started the whole youtube thing recently. Nothing to brag about yet lol

@BrickTV, do an unboxing/unbagging video (in hind sight, I probably should have done that with all my exclusives), a much better idea than leaving them sealed in their plastic prisons.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but it's more like $20-$30 on eBay. Still a fantastic figure! (because it's chromed)

Coincidentally, for those of you who are still keeping track despite the fact it's meaningless since @y2kjosh hasn't been on the forums since being disgraced by this bet... that's still much higher than the still $7 Hoth Han polybag.

Yea i figured they weren't selling for those prices yet. Hadn't had time to actually check. Just saw what some were listing it at.
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
Never go by prices listed, there is nothing stopping me listing the extra #75030 sets I have for US$3,000. Does it mean that's what that set is worth? No, because you need to have customers willing to pay that. It's better to look at what prices it has sold at, the more data the better.

I picked up a box of random Lego at a carboot for £35 last weekend. Around 9 kilos of bricks. Including some Harry Potter and Star Wars. Minifigs of Bib Fortuna, a Gamorrean guard, a couple of early Emperors and a Merman from HP. There’s lots more but I haven’t figured out who they all are yet.

    re $2 CMFs
I already cleaned out the Wegmanses in my neighborhood.
At that price I don't need to identify the figures first to buy only the higher value ones.

CMFs started during my dark age, and I thought that much for one figure was a ripoff, now it seems like a steal.

I have a feeling more than a few people here got this deal, but I think this is my favorite deal I've ever gotten, even if it's not quite the best.  The set pictured below came in the mail today, 3 days before it's official release... and I got it for about ~$45, or about 36% off, thanks to @ReesesPieces sharp eyes with the Google Express app and Walmart Online. Thanks Reeses!
