i know the northwest goodwills do this
but in my area (NorCal) they don’t.
however, they did open up a boutique that focuses on the higher end stuff they get in. Though Lego from Target hasn’t been seen there...
Last night a bundle of Star Wars Minifigs - about 2ish pounds I think sold for over 1000. From my quick scan through there wasnt any crazy desirables either like CC Boba Fett etc.
I will say that the secret to that site is to only bid on local auctions. They always overcharge for shipping. If you do a local pick up you can save around $20 which makes your price per pound much more reasonable. Also be sure and look through all the photos. I've gotten some very rare/expensive parts for practically nothing because the pictures were blurry or buried in a stack of pictures that other bidders didn't bother to analyze. But things have changed over the past year, most auctions have been bought by others for stupidly high amounts. Although I have still been lucky and won auctions for good parts at around $3 a pound.
I keep a bookmark to the site that is limited to the store I can do a local pickup from. I don't bother looking at other stores. I also have a dollar limit in mind that I simply won't bid higher than. I consider myself lucky when it works out in my favor, I have had some really good luck. I've also kicked myself for not bidding a few dollars more.
No Christmas/Halloween like dividers. Just laid flat, chilling on the Valentine's rack.
She ended up giving it to me after I showed her me scanning it on the Target app but it was strange having all those different price discrepancies on one item checked so many different ways.
Managed to find the little Pug poly in the Valentine section as well.
At another Target I saw a #10669 on the shelf for $6 but it was opened and had no Minifigures and had a mix of pieces with a 2nd different instruction book. Seems like they take just about anything back after Christmas.
For $96 I'd just build it. It look extraordinary.
Anyway, I’m guessing after a month or two they’ll mark this as “Price Reduced” and it will be RRP. If I recall correctly, they did that with #31066.
A Goodwill thread is a good idea. Last week I picked up 12 of the Cpt. Salazar Brickheadz for $3 each. I left another 12 there. I could/should have posted about them.
Most Goodwill finds worth mentioning will probably show up in the "brag" thread, along with the other one-off deals that people have found.
