Which was the hardest ones to procure?
I'd like to do one that is blue and yellow...and wondering if it will be within my price range to do this.
A couple of the rarer parts include the wheel arches (limited colours) and the trans dark windscreen. I think the sloped bricks that make up the front wings may also be in limited colours.
I've been building more of the Airjitzu Temple. I'm liking the lamps in particular.
For her birthday a few weeks back, we finally gave her the #41015 Dolphin cruiser that has been hiding in a cupboard for a while. Two days after she unwrapped it, I found what appears to be a nearly complete one in a charity shop for £3.
So this week we will each be building the set, her with her present & me with the second-hand one, going at her pace.
Today we both finished Bag 1 (of 5).
I had to replace a minidoll head (they had Stephanie's head rather than Mia's) & add the hair & also dig out a spare ski from my parts. I did think initially that I was missing a couple of pieces more but they appeared when I was sorting
^^ I like the $1 per minute deal... I'll try to see if that matches, I think I even go under the Euro on most sets.
Just finished building the A and B-models of #31056 (which i bought two of at a huge discount) with my 2year-old son. Cool to see he really knows how and where to put pieces on (with a little help to concentrate from time to time), but ultimately lacks the power in his little hands to click (especially larger) pieces into place :)
The photo booth really highlights the carnival feel of the Amusement Park theme. The guy in a costume related to the product is a promotional device also seen at regular stores.
As usual for Friends, the smooth furniture isn't actually useful to seat minidolls, so I either don't build it or replace tiles with 1x2x1 panel with center divider (part 93905). The long plate for a roof is a bit flimsy. A 2x6 plate doesn't brace it enough. A 6x10, which fills the whole space, is too tight. A 6x8 fits great.
The vehicle looking like a hot dog is awesome.
The actual building experience was simple and fun.
It's a better food cart than #60150 Pizza Van. (I'm not a huge fan of that set; I think #41311 is a better pizzeria)
My only minor quibble is that the figs have to sit fully upright due to the support bar behind the cabin - especially frustrating since the seats recline!
Also, I swapped the 1x4 plate with two studs on the side with the 1x4 tile at the back so the side can be opened when the roof is on, which makes more sense to me.
Overall though, it's a great set; very reminiscent of a VW camper - like a T3 with a split windscreen. A compliment to either a beach or campsite theme or looks brilliant on its own.
For a change, both alternate builds look good too, so I might break it down at some point and try those. Or pick up another if I can find one discounted.
I like tall buildings and a short, squatty bank on this prominent corner just would not due. I modified the second level in LDD and made several mods to include removing all the interior walls and decorations. No more access chimney to get into the vault. For the 1st level, I dropped the laundromat by 2 bricks to blend into the slope. I'm not too good at original creations (yet) but love to mod current designs to fit my needs.
It was quite common though, Google it. Here is another for reference.

Daddy, this looks like an elephant, doesn't it?
Why yes, yes it does... :-)
I bought LEGO 40174, then decided I wanted a more realistic set and designed my own. Check it out!

Maybe I've finally become immune to Lego's great sets, but it's the first time that I'm tempted to sell a set on after building. Though I am tempted to MOC a street scene with it now. Going to take a lot of bricks, though, if it's to scale!
My wife is actually the REAL MOCCER of the family, and she has some issues with that front sail as well. So it's something we are thinking about, and plan on addressing in some way.
While it's been a lot of fun building this ship, it does require "brain work" that I do find a little taxing at times. Which I guess only furthers the point that I'm not that great at MOCS, lol. While I do find following the directions tedious at times, it's also something that doesn't require much thought. My favorite part of the hobby is putting all the sets and MOCS together into a world/display, and putting the minifigs in fun "action poses". I get a lot of enjoyment out of that stuff. I compare it to doing a jigsaw puzzle, the "set" is like one puzzle, but then you get to put a bunch of puzzles together to create something even cooler.
I'm saying all of this, lol, because I have to step away from the ship for a minute. Too much "thinking" lol.
I can definitely appreciate the need to step away and stop overthinking for a moment on a build like that though! Sometimes the wheels of creativity need a rest to oil up and get spinning again! :)
Still, the rhinos are pretty cool, so I think it's worth it.
I told myself that I wouldn't build another lego modular, but Lego Assembly Square had a pull on me. I just love the details that Lego put into this set. I put the Door on wrong on the Cafe portion and it took me awhile to figure out what I did wrong, I would had been further along on the build had I not did such a bonehead move. I liked the Lego Diner, but I considered this better.
The other shelf is more government-oriented, featuring the Town Hall, Fire Brigade, a post office MOC and taller versions of the Cafe Corner and Brick Bank.
The challenge now is finding room for the Diner... It doesn't seem to go well with anything else.
I put mine next to the DO on this layout and made the diner a corner building by adding 2 studs of sidewalk next the the stairs going up.
Modulex Version of Classic Castle 375
....sadly I only have so much display space on the modular street, and big lorries can crowd the road so its one at a time. Looks cool with its police escort.
Love both of these. Shame about the abundance of stickers, but I persevered. I also built the podium, but it's not much to look at.
Yep, it's the micro build. Haven't quite got around to buying the minifig one yet...
My youngest said "Look at all those Star lord guns, Dad!"
And because I had got two more copies of the set, I could build these:
The Batwing and Bat-tank alternate models. Here they are with the minifig counterparts:
And, here's the fab part! Spoilered because others might want a surprise when they get around to this polybag:
