Didn't remember the 60th anniversary deal until I was already in bed, didn't miss much the way they were running it. 8 AM is either too early or too late, especially for a slim chance at getting one.

Requiring multiple orders would require another free shipping minimum and the item could be out of stock by the time you're able to place another order.
I almost never ship anything to my house. Store pickuo is free and stuff usually is better packaged to boot. No sense in adding filler to hit a shipping threshold when you can pickup for free.
Didn't know store pickup didn't have a minimum, last time I tried that (for the Thanksgiving deal) it did look like I needed to order something else - maybe that changed, maybe I misread the site.

@Astrobricks1 41148 for $19 is basically 75% off. Since Disney Princess is somewhat overpriced, that's more like 70%, but still great

@MiniBricks1 I keep waiting to see fun at beach/park more than 20% off, as I'd love to get some duplicates.

@Jenni I also ran into confusion about which BrickHeadz were available at which prices.

Yeah, giving up on this one.  I knew it was going to be bad, but ugh, this is worse than expected.  And I love how those in the west always get screwed by the time zone shenanigans with the timing of the releases, too. -.-

Ironically, being on the west coast would've helped here. 7 central is 5 pacific, for me a late night but doable

Not always, West Coast gets treated to early morning 12am PST/3am EST price resets too.

Got my house finally. 1 of the seals in peeling, but otherwise in good shape.

^ Does it feel worth $20?

  • FizyxFizyx Member Posts: 1,363
@ravendragonwing Actually had the same issue with one of the two sets that I got.

As to whether they were worth the $20... well, they sold out pretty quick, and they are nice little boxes (emphasis on the 'little' I admit...), but I think they might do okay as collectables.  I'm not sad I got them, personally.

Also, the truck is available now if anyone was waiting for it as well :)

My windmill arrived today and one of the seals came up taking some of the box with it. :(

Got to say, Walmart shipping has been atrocious. Two of my three shipments have had dented LEGO boxes, and two of the three had thrashed exterior boxes. Not very happy. They replaced the terrible looking Bricks on a Roll set (ironically shipped in the best looking exterior box) since it was still in stock. The dented 60th house box, however, I was told I was out of luck since it was sold out now.

That all being said: the 60th Car set #4000030 (thank god it's the last...) has been posted:

Was this ship to home, or ship to store? I did a ship to store for the first time this week (non-LEGO) and the box was in fine shape. They let me check the contents when I picked up and they kept the outer box and packing so I didn’t have to dispose of it.
  • 77ncaachamps77ncaachamps Member Posts: 2,442
I did ship to home and they were delivered just fine. No crushed boxes.
however the packing job was odd.

the house had a bed of air packets and it was placed directly on top. Had I punctured my scissors deeper into the box tape, I would’ve torn into the box.

the windmill had air packets on the side and the box was placed flush to the opposite side.

seals were an issue on both.

but I love the numbered seal on the kit.

I found #71020 Lego Batman Movie CMF Series 2 for $3 at my Walmart today. Definitely odd, since I have never seen a Walmart discount CMFs like this. All others in my area were normal price.

Lucky, I still haven't seen TLBM series 2 anywhere in my area besides the lego store, was hoping they'd show up at Target because I've got $50 in gift cards still from Christmas.

Yup.  I was logged into my account and everything. Put it in, went through check out, did pick-up, checked out, and it was gone that fast... so what 45 seconds? That was just insanely stupid.
  • ModeltrainmanModeltrainman Member Posts: 1,316
That was to nobody in particular... How in the world do people do that?!
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
Bots for kne. But also I am willing to bet there weren't many left after allowing 5 to be ordered the first day. I know of one xonfirconfir that someone was able to order 15 that day. I could have pulled it off if I had thought to try.

That was quicker this time around.  Tried to change my pickup store and those few precious seconds caused me to lose out.
  • LEGO_Dad77LEGO_Dad77 Member Posts: 243
Well that was garbage. Got it in my cart only to be told that the Lobo set that was also in my cart (the set I blanking REMOVED yesterday!!) was out of stock, so after that whole process the sale set was of COURSE no longer available.

There was a very high chance that even without that in your cart, you still would not have been able  to check out.

When things are sold so much below market price, stuff like this is bound to happen

If you're getting the Bricks on a Roll set, don't forget you can get a free booklet of some sort (don't know what it actually looks like though) by taking a picture of your receipt and entering at http://lego60th.com/

One per household, and there are apparently ~15k total.  They were still available last night for me.

Well, I thought I finally made it on the third and final day of the bundle deal, but I just received an email from Wal-Mart saying they are cancelling my order due to lack of supply for the tan baseplate.  I think it is pretty crappy that Wal-Mart won’t fulfill the order once the baseplates are eventually restocked.  Instead, they apparently decided they had taken enough of a hit on this promotion.  With TRU being not long for the world, and Wal-Mart giving consumers bad experiences, I wonder if Lego is starting to be concerned with the lack of good retail partners.  Not everyone lives near a Lego store, and the Shop@Home store has documented issues with packaging sets properly for shipment.
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
It is entirely possible that they are out of the sand baseplate. It is supposedly being discontinued so perhaps they won't be getting anymore stock. That said, they could have just prorated the price for the box of bricks and sent you that. would have still been a good deal.

They just shipped my baseplate to the store, my brick box is still pending shipment for store pickup. Weird. I am glad to have gotten in on a set the last day.
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 850
So did I understand that right.....gt7319c had his order cancelled because it was short a baseplate and ^MachONE was just sent his baseplate(I understand the rest may arrive later).  But come on.....if promotions like this are that difficult maybe WM should just stop doing them.  It just seems like a $*#% show or something along the lines of a cluster (bomb).

Considering they were selling them in limited amounts, I would assume that they knew how many they had left and wouldn't oversell them. Sounds like they suffer from phantom stock in the online store too.

Conversely, I managed to get two orders of the bundle on the second day they were selling it however one of my orders shipped in full and the other one - the brick box is ready for pick up but the sand  baseplate is still pending. I wonder if it is a warehouse geography thing?

Saw a fair amount of #10715 Bricks on a Roll in store. Can't pull the trigger at $30 (okay, $29.84) for 442 regular pieces no figs, even with the booklet

Got my trucks at WM in store pick up.
one was in a box with air packaging
the other was in a loose plastic mailer, w/o packaging support.

    WTF!

My store has a few left as well. Got one for $25, and email confirmation this morning that my book is on the way.
