...and for related bank charges...
Oh my god, I just ordered like 3-400 pieces from pick a brick, with maybe only 10-15 of any one kind maximum, and it took me a long time to put the order together because I was copying element IDs off PDFs and some of the pieces I had to bricklink instead... anyway, I would get that happening to me in the middle of picking all the time after like 20-30 minutes, almost without fail. And I would never know if it had saved the work I had done or dumped it, and the only way to get it to go away was to just close out the shop completely and not go back for a day or so. So. Frustrating. I don't know how I got through that process without punching a hole through my screen.
However, I ain’t about to give up so easily, especially in the case of the 1960s.
^Once I get my drive back, you’re next.
It was epic and awesome and definitely one of the best times of my life.
Space is always an issue now.
....but because it was chilly with the kitchen door open yesterday I rebuilt it while she was out to go to the bottom of the stairs instead!
PS. The whiteboard message in the background isn't a cry for help!
This is the Blacksmiths house, so much cool stuff here too, the clever chimney, the cool way of connecting the rooftop, the use of brown headlight bricks to give the detail. Really enjoying this set.
The apartment complex where I live finally instituted recycling, so just a few steps away from my front door and into the recycling bin.
I hope you are all having a nice weekend!
Since I used a number of pieces from my first 720S for my F1 LM MOC and the 720S has really grown on me, I decided I wanted another one:
Also, my latest MOC; Pagani Zonda Revolucion
Next up:
Bugatti EB110(using a fantastic EB110 on LEGO Ideas one as a reference)
Lancia 037
2017 Ford GT road car(using the official Ford GT Race Car as a reference)
I'm going to be also building the U.S. Capital, plus I'm just started collecting Presidential Bobbleheads. Please no political comments about any of the bobbleheads, for I'm just collecting them. My Favorite bobblehead is FDR for it also shows his dog (Fala).
Granted, the BnP order came today via Royal Mail and the regular order by Yodel, who didn't bother showing up yesterday and claimed I wasn't in!!! The cheek!!
Got some Captain America:The Winter Soldier vibes in terms of fighting and style, also the extended casino clip (shorter version on YouTube) was very James Bond like!
The soundtrack is only second to Guardians for the MCU.
I'd put this film 3rd in my MCU list after 1. Winter Soldier and 2. Civil War.
Right I'll stop now before I reveal too much!
Let's go infinty war!
Beforehand with my bricks.
Nice to be away for a couple of days and meet up with the lovely @iso3200 tomorrow as well.
I think I’ve reached Peak LEGO.
According to the interwebs 'peak oil' is defined as: the theorized point in time when the maximum rate of extraction of petroleum is reached, after which it is expected to decline. In other words, when our appetite for oil outstrips the amount of it that the Earth can produce.
As an AFOL I find myself in the enviable position of being gainfully employed, unmarried, childless and relatively low in debt. This means almost all of my disposable income can get spent on LEGO if I so wish. Which I do. And so it does. However, as marvellous as this sounds, it’s led me to a peculiar problem.
I’ve run out sets that I want. But I still want LEGO.
In other words, my desire for LEGO has overtaken TLG's capability to produce sets that I desire.
Peak LEGO.
I now stand in front of toy store shelves and the only sets that grab my attention are the ones that I already own. Sometimes I consider buying sets I don’t even want, just so I can leave the store with LEGO. On at least one occasion, to great regret, I’ve actually done that.
I find myself checking numerous LEGO blogs multiple times a day, hoping for news that my favoured themes are releasing a brand new wave.
I scour the [email protected] website daily for anything interesting that my have escaped my attention, usually to no avail.
I’m not confident at MOCing. I’m not willing to open the Pandora’s Box that is 'try to develop interest in a new theme'.
And so the sad AFOL continues on into the sunset. Wistful. Melancholy. His yearning unfulfilled.
TL:DR - There was nothing at the shops this afternoon.
Merry valentines!
(Ten arms, for those of you counting. A very rare Decapoda Mus.)
