I often do something else while watching a movie, maybe as a timesaver, maybe if I'm not really into the whole film. may as well be something thematically related to the movie. felt odd to watch Dunkirk while sorting #41231 (the next movie I watched was TLNM, which highlighted the difference in tone)
- get more villains for Batman (I have Lex, Zod, Faora and Tor-An for Superman, Ares for Wonder Woman, parademons and Steppenwolf for all, but no specific one for Batman)
- I have to design and build a MOC Fortress of Solitude to house my 4 Superman minifigures as well as Krypto.
It will be a nice family project.
I made it before Lego announced that it was going to be theirs :) Got a couple of detailed pictures of the inside on my flickr if you fancy, here.
Pictures aren't the best, maybe I should retake them soon, looking back at it, maybe I should change some plain bricks for some red grooved bricks for a bit more detail.
I’m exactly a month late Building the #10260 - Downtown Diner, nevertheless what better way to do it than watching the entire Back To The Future trilogy on my day off! I was actually so slow building the set I’ve finished the entire trilogy with just the ground floor completed...
Now I need 2 of the set, to have the Modular version and a small Diner on the outskirts of my city..... :)
@snowhitie - just checked out your photos. Very impressed :-)
PS @Legopants and others intersted, the pub is a MOC I'm working on, but the top floor isn't ready yet, so no proper pictures yet.
Glad you like my bank though, even though I seemed to have not added any pictures of the other floors in that link I posted before (this one is better), I still have lot to learn about Flickr.
So I've seen MOCs using extra flippers as roof tiles and skates as micro cars but has anyone ever found a use for the extra helmet visors and scarves, for instance? After some Googling, Youtubing and Pinteresting, this mini landspeeder using a visor for the windscreen is all I've found. There are always two visors to each minifig's helmet - worse than the age-old burger buns vs burgers per packet ratio.
Has anyone ever come across some way of using the forgotten extras, the studless army of pieces with seemingly one use, and one use only you all must have acquired over the years?
@snowhitie - Ruddy brilliant! Look forward to seeing some photos of the finished pub :-)
....turning loop in her room and then we have a novel solution to the limited door opening into the LEGO room....
....oh and its a better test of our 3D printed crossover too.
Some stuff I didn't even know was there:
- LEGO Harry Potter 4726 Quidditch Practice from 2002
- LEGO Sports 3428 One vs One Action from 2003
- LEGO Racers 8354-1 Exo-Force Bike from 2003.
- A random Prospector minifigure from Series 12
Other sets I found:
- LEGO Castle 7038 Troll Assault Wagon from 2008
- LEGO Castle 7078 King's Battle Chariot from 2009
- LEGO City 7998 Heavy Hauler from 2007
- LEGO Agents 8632 Swamp Raid from 2008
Definitely a really nice day! :) Some great surprises, I feel very fortunate.
and starting to move my Lego Stuff downstairs:
I have the Saturn V, Ferris Wheel, Carousel and Taj Mahal to take downstairs, for it was starting to clutter up the main house. Unfortunately, I notice the basement needs a good cleaning. LOL
Photos too large stop need resizing stop internet broken stop
:)
Here's a medium size picture of the Diner.
Yeap, it wasn't the website and I will from not on upload smaller pictures. Sorry about that.
I started building the Diner on Friday. Got as far as the ground floor so far and I'm very impressed. Easily my favourite modular build so far.
I finally uploaded the current version of my Part Out Value list, a guide to set value

Besides that did a lot of nexo shield sorting
Awhile ago, someone mentioned pizza boxes to ship baseplates. (32x32's barely fit in a huge bubblemailer, which might not be sturdy enough, and 48x48's don't fit at all. Most boxes that are wide enough are way too tall.) A couple days ago I found an empty clean pizza box and a 48x48 fits great. Taping the seams in the top of the box shouldn't be too hard. If I don't mail in it, it's great decor and at-home storage.
As I want to sell it, my question becomes whether it would be better to remove the stickers altogether, leaving a blank canvas for the future owner. OR, to leave what stickers are there and allow the future owner to decide? It mainly comes down to whether peeling/cracked/missing stickers will hurt the final sales price or would they help it?
Obviously the pictures will help give a better idea, but in general, does anyone have any thoughts?
Recently I've been using my Lego based Flickr account more, to keep the photo-diary of my daily building challenge. So now I sometimes add a hyperlink behind the picture. Someone who just wants to scroll and have a quick look can do so, those who want to see more detail can click on the picture and it will take them to the full resolution one.
Case in point: my daily build of 2 Nexo polybags. I've added the extra studs for the studshooter to both builds. Do other people do that? I just find that otherwise you can never find them :)
I have no idea about the actual prices of the set or the stick sheets or if the condition of the stickers will hurt, but I can think of another option that will probably maximize your sale price, but could potentially reduce your profit if you're able to do it: You could remove the stickers altogether, and then purchase an unused sticker sheet off of Bricklink if anyone has one for sale, to include with the set in your final sale.
The obvious caveats are around if there are any such sheets for sale, and what they cost compared to what your stand to gain from the sale, of course.
It's the pterodactyl from #31058. All kidding aside, I might get started with my son on Tower Bridge tomorrow, I quite fancy it... See what he thinks.
Monochromes!!!!
The end goal will look something like this (I just updated it, so you can use this as viability reference):
It's a trap!
